Chapter 342: Maximum Blood Restitution.
Chapter 342: Maximum Blood Restitution.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Sudn activated a few healing spells to keep Hunter's condition stable, just in case things went south.
However, the chances of that happening were very low...
{Blood Restitution} had evolved from the spell, {Blood Regenration}. It made use of Cain's affinity for the blood element, as well as his special {Eye of Clairvoyance} to locate the elemental blood particles and direct them into his body. When the skill evolved to {Blood Restitution}, he gained the ability to use it on others...
What made the skill so great, was that it affected the vitality, HP, and MP of the targeted host all at once. By using his powerful spirit to guide the dense energy into the body, Cain was in a sense, breathing life into the body, since the Blood element was simply a paraelemental of the life element...
His {Elemental Vault} skill was all he needed to turn this skill that he had outgrown, into something that had enough power to pull someone away from the edge of the grave. Cain has used it to do something similar before by storing a magic circle of the {Blood Regeneration} skill near his heart when he had almost died.
Once the Vault was opened, Cain drew upon the swirling pool of crimson within it. The energy rushed out furiously. Cain was a bit scared...
'What if the intensity is too much and it ends up killing him?'
There were many variables involved with it. He had to be sure before he took the next steps...
Cain turned his now scarlet red eyes to Hunter,
"Are you ready? This might put your life in danger."
Hunter shrugged, "If I can't fight anymore, my life might as well be over. I'd either take this risk..."
Cain nodded, greatly impressed by his steadfast character. Taking a deep breath, he began,
"Blood Restitution!"
This was the pinnacle of this spell's potential. Any more and the magic circle would collapse, leading to the death or maiming of both Cain and Hunter.
A huge magic circle unfolded beneath his outstretched palms and covered Hunter. As soon as the dense blood energy began pouring into him, Hunter let loose a loud yell of agony before he collapsed onto the bed, the whites of his eyes showing...
Cain's fave paled, 'Is he dead?!'
Susan's face was grim as she chanted spell after spell. Even then, she could barely keep him in a stable condition. The spells she was using weren't healing spells. Rather, they were more like debuffs that allowed her to manipulate his status. It was a very ingenious way to use spells that were supposed to cause negative effects.
"His condition is fluctuating!"
Cain gritted his teeth as the blood energy continued pouring into Hunter's body. Much to his relief, he saw that Hunter's limbs had begun growing back into existence.
However, the rampant blood energy in his body could be the cause of his death. Too much of anything is bad. Although the blood mana was the source of life, too much of it could have disastrous consequences...
And so, Cain's mind began to spin...
What was the best course of action to take in this situation? Prolonged inaction was bound to cause Hunter to lose his life. However, he couldn't afford to take a large gamble, especially if it was someone else's life in his hands...
Before he could think about it too much, his hands were already moving...
'What the hell am I thinking about?! There is only one way to control this situation!'
Cain gritted his teeth as his left eye changed from a deep scarlet to a chilling white. {Eye of Clairvoyance} was activated. The passive enchantment of the {Abhorrent Devil-Enchanted Gloves} was activated as well...
'And that is to take this spell to the next level!'
There was no other way...
Cain had experience upgrading spells. So far, he had yet to fail once. However, all of those times, his life had been in mortal danger.
Could he perform the same when it wasn't his life on the line?
With one eye as scarlet as a river of blood and the other as pale as bleached bones, Cain stirred up the mana in him. He was proficient in drawing basic runes already, so this part wasn't too difficult.
What was difficult, was trying to materialize the magic circle of the {Blood Restitution} spell and modify it in a few seconds, just like he did with the magic circle of {Seal}.
The intensity of the hues in his eyes jumped up as his hands began to move. The magic circle before him was given a few more components. For the next few seconds, the magic circle kept expanding until it covered the entirety of Hunter's body.
Meanwhile, Susan watched from.the sidelines, completely dumbfounded.
'What sorcery is this?!' That was the only thought in her mind.
Sweat poured down Cain's face as he continued his modifications. In the entire universe, the number of people who could modify an active spell could be counted on one hand.
The only reason Cain could do this was because of the gloves given to him by Og-solath, his immense talent for the arcane arts, his knowledge on basic rune transcripts, and of course... His sorcerers mind...
If not for all these factors, this would have been impossible....
Once he was done, the magic circle glowed briefly. At the I'm a time, Cain chanted the name of the modified spell,
"Maximum Blood Restitution!"
The Blood elemental mana pouring into Hunter's body suddenly spiked drastically. However, this time, it was controlled. Rather than the energy running rampant in his body, it flowed towards the predetermined areas. The speed at which Hunter's limbs grew back suddenly tripled.
At the same time, Cain's face paled. The actovation of powerful spells and skills required a very robust spirit stat. The reason Cain could create and use skills and spells that were so high in demand was because of his spirit stat. However, even he had a limit...
{Maximum Blood Restitution} had to be the most demanding spell he had ever cast. Even more demanding than {Geavenly Blue Lightning}, which seemed like a hard pill to swallow.
'Why is the strain so much?!' Cain gritted his teeth as he fought the headache bearing down on him. Even he was clueless as to why this was so.
Regardless, a few seconds later, Cain saw that all Hunter's limbs had fully regenerated. He let out a relieved sigh, but now was not the time to relax.
And this was because the blood mana within the vault was at a little less than half. Of something wasn't done about this, the blood energy injected into Hunter's body would have no we're to go and would saturate his cells with unnecessary vitality, leading to an overdose, which, in almost all situations, was not a very good idea.
Suddenly, a light bulb went off in Cain's head...
He quickly disconnected Hunter from the receiving end of the spell and turned around, dashing out of the room at blinding speed.
Left alone in the room with the unconscious Hunter, Susan had an exhausted look on her face...
Placing her hands on Hunter's head, she checked his condition. Much to her surprise, he was perfectly have and healthy. She couldn't spot a single thing awry.
'Is he even human anymore? So many different abilities? A frightening intellect. He is also very strong... I- I have to keep up!'
Her fists clenched, she made up her mind. Sometimes, all one needed was a little push to take hold of destiny.

Cain dashed around like a madman through the room filled with disabled men. The people in the room couldn't even register what was going on due to the immense speed he was moving at. All they knew, was that one by one, every single one of them was getting healed completely.
However, Cain didn't stop there....
Once he was done with everybody in there, he raced down the hallways. Anyone with a bodily impairment found out, much to their amazement, that the moment a chill, refreshing, and rejuvenating wind passed by them, these injuries were healed. Lost limbs were regained, eyes were restored. Some that were handling severe internal injuries realized that the oain coming from deep down simply vanished.
It was simply a miracle...
The maker of this miracle finally stopped, beads of sweat pouring down his face. After healing so many people, the blood elemental mana within the Vault was finally depleted. Collapsing to the ground, he heaved a sigh of relief.
'That... That was intense.'
As if to congratulate him for his achievements, the system chose that moment to whisper into his ears,
***
{Congratulations to host... Your skill, Blood Restitution has evolved to the skill, Maximum Blood Restitution}.
{+100 to Spirit}.
{+50 to Magic}.
{+10 to Control}.
{Maximum Blood Restitution}: By utilizing his many gifts, the host has allowed his spell to transcend its original state, into something that is above what is normal. This spell is capable of regrowing limbs and pulling those who are the edge of death back to the world of the living. This spell has no cooldown, and its output is proportional to the amount of mana put into it.
However, it has reached its peak...
Cost: N/A

Cain was happy, excited, relieved... but list of all, he was a bit confused. Reading over the skills description again, he was finally able to clear the confusion up.
'So it's that type of spell, huh...'
It was beyond impressive. A spell that could be used to do something as small as healing a bruise, and something as big as mending broken bones, or regrowing severed limbs.
As long as he had the required blood elemental energy. Hell, theoretically, if he had enough blood elemental mana, he could even bring back the dead.
Or not...
Even still, Cain's eyes were filled with excitement as he imagined the endless possibilities...
