Cain's heart rate sped up...
The item seated on the table before him was a result of his many days of hard work. He had used all the resources he had scavenged and more to create a rare-grade weapon, which was two grades higher than the Normal grade, and one grade lower than the epic grade, which was incredibly impressive.
Although these were only Tier 0 weapons, meaning they had no tier, they were more than enough to fight the {Blood Abomination} army. And the best part?
They didn't even need to do anything themselves, which included providing the mana needed for the weapon's skills to work...

{Bullet Manifestation}: Can be used to fire high-caliber bullets that deal a thousand points of physical damage. Only twelve shots can be loaded per cartridge.
{Magic Bullet Manifestation}: Can be used to fire high-density flame mana bullets that deal a thousand points of magic damage. Only twelve shots can be loaded per cartridge.

The guns were not too big. Compared to the magic guns they used previously, they were smaller but dealt far more damage. The magic guns that had been in use previously were only normal grade after all.
These normal-grade magic guns were impressive, but they couldn't hold a candle to what Cain could create. Each bullet cartridge was created using a piece of {Arcanite} and a {Forx Stone} encased in {Black Tungsten}.
The {Forx Stone} was engraved with a magic circle that was responsible solely for producing bullets of metal. Thanks to {Divine Essence of Metallurgy}, drawing the magic circle was not a problem. {Arcanite} acted as the power source that supplied metal elemental mana to the {Forx Stone}, enabling it to create the metal bullets.
However, there was limited energy within each piece of {Arcanite}. Cain had considered using metal elemental mana shards when he noticed this as they contained far greater mana than the {Arcanite}. However, the magic circles ended up giving way and collapsing when he replaced the {Arcanite} with the mana shards. {Arcanite} contained far less mana than a mana shard.
However, the rate at which it released mana was far slower. A mana shard releases most of its energy at once, or in short, yet concentrated bursts or packets. {Arcanite} on the other hand releases its energy in a single, yet continuous stream until all the energy stored within is exhausted...
As such, he was forced to use the {Arcanite}...
'Hopefully, I'll be able to use the mana shards as a power source.'
Now that the bullets were created, they had to possess enough force to escape the chamber and obliterate the defenses of these creatures.
For this, Cain had used two more special metals, {Mesotane} and {Magnetium}...
{Mesotane} allowed the transformation of mana into kinetic energy. It could be any type of mana, elemental or not. However, the mana was immediately turned into kinetic energy. The greater the purity, as well as the volume of the mana, the greater the conversion rate in favor of the kinetic energy.
The {Magnetium} worked more strangely. Its magnetism could be altered depending on the purity and volume of mana poured into it. Normally, this wouldn't have made it special.
However, when Cain thought about it, he realized that by boosting the speed of the bullet, he also boosted its lethality. The faster a heavy object was, the more force it would be able to produce.
When it was being influenced by mana, the {Magnetium} worked quite similar to a magnet. By creating an extraordinarily strong magnetic field within the windings of the gun's barrel, the bullet was sped up exponentially. Cain had gotten this idea from Jenny's powerful rifle...
Combined with the mana-to-kinetic conversion, each bullet could easily break the sound barrier.
Cain had initially been shocked. Previously, mankind had been capable of doing this with technology. However, it had taken thousands upon thousands of years to perfect it.
And here was Cain... Creating something far better with just rudimentary knowledge and magic on his hands.
It was nothing short of a miracle...
There were many other components within the weapon, but that was the main mechanism behind the bullet's motion and its tremendous power. It wasn't as powerful as Jenny's, but it was very close.
'Seems like I have a natural talent for crafting...' He thought proudly. However, it was the truth.
If any of the major organizations that ruled a portion of the starry skies got wind of this, they would abduct him immediately, and then force him to work for them. Magic Technology and Engineering were still something very much sought after in the universe. That was why the dwarves were such a treasured and feared race. Because of their terrifying creations using magic...
Still, all these were just Tier-less weapons. Compared to the truly scary weapons of mass destruction out there, it was nothing. Not even the dust in the air...
Despite that, Cain was incredibly proud of his achievements...
'A step at a time... There's still a lot of work to be done.'
With a smile on his face, he picked the firearm up and placed it in his hand. The handle of the gun was lined with {Orcan}, which negated a majority of the recoil. If not, most of them would have their hands completely shattered after taking a single shot.
The rest of the body was made using an alloy of {Black Tungsten} and {Stained Silver}. Together, they made the weapon nearly indestructible to normal forces.
The weapon was a hand-held gun, so it was small enough to be carried with a single hand. However, it was big nonetheless. Its single barrel was also very long, and the handle was wide. However, it was very aesthetically pleasing to look at.
The natural design created from conjoining so many components together, as well as all the rare gems and runic lines working within and around the {Magnum GT-01}, was simply a work of art. There was a small mana shard embedded on the rear side of the firearm, and the barrel was engraved with numerous intimidating runes.
With a goofy smile, Cain continued checking and inspecting the weapon for a while before storing it in his {Armament Armory}.
Stepping out of the forge, he was greeted with the sight of about ten eager men. Behind them was a very huge pile of metal. Cain nodded approvingly,
"This is more than enough. While I handle all this, you all will be in charge of assembling these..."
With a flick of his wrist, Cain controlled the numerous components that were within the forge and brought them out.
Staring at the large heaps of metal, Cain said in a cool tone,
"These will be enough to make four hundred weapons and a few thousand cartridges."
The beastman that had knocked earlier couldn't help but speak up,
"Erm... Sir? But we don't know what you want us to do with all this."
Cain grinned at his question,
"Don't worry. We have some time on our hands. It isn't too difficult."
With that, Cain began instructing them on how to couple the firearms. If all this was done without magic, it would have taken months, if not a year to finish, as well as numerous machinery and equipment and a large labor force.
All of this was done by Cain with just a bit of assistance in a few weeks...
Once he was sure the beastmen had gotten the gist of it, he stretched, then left them to their devices. There were many things he needed to do before the catastrophe came.
Walking through the dark corridors with purpose, he stopped at the entrance to a particular cave and went in. Inside, Hunter was seated on a fur rug, waves of dense, violent energy rolling off his body.
Cain knew Hunter had become stronger. However, he didn't know to what extent exactly. Fortunately, he would get to see him in action soon...
Hunter's eyes snapped open the moment Cain walked in.
"Are you finally done?"
Cain nodded with a grin, then pulled the {Magnum GT-01} out of his inventory,
"Yeah. Too longer than I expected, but I managed."
Hunter took the firearm in his hand and weighed it,
"Heavy... But not too much."
Hunter then frowned, "What was the point in going through all this?"
Cain smiled. He could understand why Hunter couldn't see what he was seeing,
Cain sat down on the fur rug,
"What is a weapon?"
Hunter paused at the strange question. However, he chose to answer it nonetheless. His eyes gleamed with a cold light,
"Weapons are instruments of murder."
Cain shrugged, "That's one way to define it. I'd say weapons are tools created by the weak to battle the strong."
Cain smiled as he continued, "Guns are more powerful and efficient to use than swords and spears. As long as we can puncture a hole in the encirclement, half the battle is already won."
Hunter scratched his head, "But can't the same thing be done with bows and arrows? They are much easier to make."
Cain nodded, "Yes. But arrows sent flying by these men will barely be able to puncture the defenses of the {Blood Abominations}. These guns on the other hand..."
Hunter frowned as he opened the description of the weapon and read through it. Slowly, his eyes began to turn wide as he saw the amount of damage each bullet could do...
"Son of a..."
Cain had a wide grin on his face,
"A single, well-placed bullet would immediately kill a {Blood Abomination}. So do you still think it isn't worthwhile?"
Hunter had a sharp murderous glint in his eyes as he gazed back at Cain,
"With this... We might... No! We will be able to break into the encirclement!"
