Chapter 130 Getting The Inheritance (Part 3)

Chapter 130 Getting The Inheritance (Part 3)

Fehim swung his axe and killed the last eight human skeletons guarding the rusty iron bars surrounding the tomb.

''Hurry, get inside. '' He shouted at Raydon and then threw himself toward the tomb, which was oddly calm and quiet despite being surrounded by a sea of skeletons.

Raydon also rushed behind Fehim while gasping for air, using his quick reflexes and dexterity to avoid the attacks coming from behind.

*Crackle* *Crackle*

*Crackle* *Crackle*

As soon as Raydon and Fehim set foot in the tomb, all the skeletons stopped moving, sank to the ground, and disappeared into the earth. A few seconds later, the chilling silence had returned, as if there had never been a sea of white bones there.

''Does that imply we have completed the first stage? '' Raydon asked as he caught his breath and turned to stare at the enormous tomb behind him, which was at least three times as large as a typical tomb. It exuded a foreboding black splendor and a ruined air.

"Yes, the first stage reward was inside this tomb, but well."

Feeling guilty, Fehim rubbed his head and said while pointing at the broken stone lid of the tomb. Obviously, he was the one who broke the lid, and what he found inside was the body enchantment he is currently using.

Raydon took a good look at Fehim. His appearance was that of a zombie, and he couldn't see anything except being stupid as a side effect.

'Actually, I think he's stupid, not because of the side effects, but because he's stupid in general. '

Fehim's reflexes and speed were exceptional for a zombie. His stats are also impressive, and his strength is still astonishing. In conclusion, even though it was only the reward from the first tomb, the body enchantment he used seemed pretty good in general. Seeing this, Raydon started to get excited about the other things they might find here.

'And I already got a very big reward, ' Looking at his experience points, Raydon grinned.

[Experience]: 103.913/ 1.000.000

'I still have a ways to go for the next level, but still, maybe I can get much more on the next stages. '

He had used every ounce of his strength to the absolute limit and wiped out countless skeleton monsters. If the upcoming stages were like this one, moving on to the next level didn't seem too difficult.

''So, what will the next stage be like? Any idea? '' Raydon inquired while checking his remaining mana. He had depleted all of his mana and would require an average of 20 minutes to fully recharge.

''Actually, the next one won't be as difficult for us as this one,'' Fehim said as he placed his ax in his dimensional storage. In the following stage, he obviously didn't require it.

When Raydon saw this, his face fell. There were no mobs to gain experience points if there were no weapons.

''The reason I couldn't get to the next tomb on my previous attempts was that I didn't have time because I spent too much time on the first tomb. If you have a strong body, the next stage is pretty simple,'' Fehim said as he began walking out of the tomb's other exit.

Raydon patiently watched as he attempted to understand Fehim's words. He intended to begin the next stage after resting and restoring his mana, but he soon realized that it was not necessary.

*Put*

Fehim had taken a few strides forward when an arrow made of bone struck his body from an unknown location.

''As I previously stated, this stage is not challenging if you have a strong body. Although I'm not sure how much the arrows' power will increase as we move along, I believe both of our defenses can withstand them.  '' Fehim came to a stop, and he looked at Raydon. Meanwhile, he was struck by two more bone arrows, which broke and fell to the ground.

'This stage appears to test one's reflexes and speed, but I believe we are slightly cheating with our outstanding defense. ' Raydon chuckled and started to follow Fehim.

He took a small step forward, and an arrow came at him, struck his body, and bounced back, just as it had done with Fehim, but in a slightly different way. Raydon's skin is more elastic, so arrows that would have broken against Fehim's skin actually bounced off of him.

''Do you know where these arrows are coming from? '' Raydon asked despite knowing he would not receive a satisfactory response. In fact, while looking around, he was thinking aloud.

There was nothing but the sound of their footsteps as they made their way across the dry gray ground in the deadly silence. Not even the arrows' piercing sound could be heard as they zipped through the air. It appeared as though the arrows were materializing out of thin air.

Raydon wasn't attempting to unravel the mystery, to be honest. He was thinking about the experience source from which these arrows were coming. He could maximize his earnings by gaining experience by finding mobs he could kill in this stage.

''You don't need to waste time trying to figure out who shot the arrows. It's a space-type skill. Since I don't know much about this rare skill type, I don't know how it functions,'' Fehim said as he continued walking.

''Space-type skill? Wait, who is using a skill in this forsaken place? '' Raydon asked curiously.

Only mobs had the ability to use skills, which was made possible by their life cores. Due to the lack of a life core, item holders can only craft items using the body parts and life cores of other monsters, allowing them to create items with skills and use them themselves.

That's where Raydon's surprise came from. The skeletons he had just killed lacked life cores as well, indicating that they had been crafted by an item holder. If there is someone using skills right now, it was either a mob or an item holder who was still living here.
