Chapter 19 Region Boss (Part 2)

Chapter 19 Region Boss (Part 2)

?''Region boss? What's that? '' Raydon questioned.

The team had already gotten used to Raydon's lack of knowledge, and without further ado, Seraher began explaining. '' The boss is a mob in the region where the match is taking place that is one rank higher than the other mobs in the region. Since we are currently in an F-Rank match, the region boss of this match is E-Rank. ''

Raydon nodded and asked another question that was bothering him. '' How powerful is this E-Rank boss? What level is it? So far, I've only encountered level 1 F-Rank mobs.''

He always encountered level 1 mobs, but even the level 1 forest wolf he killed appeared to be stronger than the wingmen he killed.

''The match's mobs follow a slightly different level logic. Even if you search for a level 2 mob during an F-Rank match, you won't find one because all F-Rank mobs are level 1. Only the region boss is level 10 and an E-Rank mob. Additionally, even a standard level 1 F-rank mob has more stats than a level 10 item holder, so you can probably guess how powerful the E-Rank region boss is.''

When Seraher noticed that Raydon was getting ready to ask another question, she knew what he would ask and continued to explain.

''Yes, we can rank up too, but there are a few differences in the requirements for us to move from F-Rank to E-Rank. '' Seraher inhaled deeply and prepared to continue, thinking it had been a while since she had spoken for so long, when another roar cut her off.

''I think the wingman and the region boss are really fighting. '' Leas said surprised.

''He must have been nuts. What chance would they have to kill the region boss even if his entire team were still alive? Although I've heard of a few teams successfully taking down region bosses, I've never heard of anyone going for it alone.'' Gary started to believe that this wingman was insane.

''Hey where are you going? '' Seraher asked when she saw Raydon heading in the direction the voice had come from.

''To check the source of the sound. '' Raydon replied casually and kept walking.

''If we are careless, the region boss will notice us and may attack us as well. Why don't we just sit here and wait for the match to end? '' Leas folded her hands on her chest and pleaded with her watery eyes.

Seeing that Leas' sensible words and sweet pleading had no effect on Raydon, the team unwillingly decided to follow.

They quickly located the source of the noise and took cover behind a hill to watch what was happening.

A flying person with wings who appeared to be in extremely bad condition and covered in blood could be seen being chased by the 2-meter-tall tree-like creature.

The creature would occasionally raise its branchy hand and hurl sticks at the flying person like a machine gun, but the wingman managed to avoid each throw, albeit with difficulty. However, there were still a few visible sticks stuck to his body.

''I-Isn't that flying thing the w-wingman? '' In response to what she saw, Leas questioned, her blonde hair standing up in terror. Despite being an enemy, she couldn't help but feel sympathy for the poor wingman.

''I guess he pissed off the region boss somehow, and now he can't get rid of it. He's paying the price for his craziness,"' Gary said, irritated.

While the team watched the region boss pursue the winged man, Raydon quietly took his crossbow from his dimensional storage.

''I guess today wasn't his lucky day. '' Gary saw Raydon insert a stick into the crossbow and sang with delight.

The moment Raydon pointed the crossbow at the wingman, everyone realized he had lost all hope of escaping.

''Damn, I shouldn't have approached that tree so close to inspect it if I had known it was the region boss. '' While dodging the sticks that were coming his way, the winged man was cursing.

He was initially surprised to see a tree in this location where there was no greenery while looking for the region boss. Curious, he came closer to see what had happened, but it was too late when he realized that what he had mistaken for a tree was actually the region boss itself.

''Also, why is this stupid mob so aggressive? He's chasing me for minutes as if he's sworn to kill me. ''

*Agh*

One of his wings was stabbed by another stick as he fled. Just as he was about to fall to the ground after losing his balance, he quickly pulled out the stick and started flapping his wings once more.

''Those idiots still haven't finished their job? Why does it take so long to kill a few worthless, lowly humans? '' The region boss who chased him to death was no longer the target of his rage; it was now directed at his teammates.

At the very least, if his teammates arrived, they could distract the boss and allow him to flee.

''Damn you, it took me a long time to get to level 9, I don't want to die and go back to level 8. Furthermore, if I lose all of my items, it will take a long time to replace them. Stop already, what have I done to you, crazy monster? ''

The wingman sobbed in agony as his depression worsened, he thought about the losses he would suffer if he died here.

After a while of helpless running, he noticed that he was approaching the forest area. ''That's it; the trees will prevent him from using his throwing sticks to target me if I enter the forest.''

His confidence grew as he reasoned that the wooded area would make it simpler to hide and flee, and he began to run there with all of his might.

When he got closer to the forest, his escape was assured. With the hope he gained, he resisted the pain of the sticks that occasionally inflicted wounds on his body.
