Chapter 211 Blue Titan
Chapter 211 Blue Titan
Raydon had just begun to run when, ten minutes later, he stopped and muttered to himself. 'I suppose there's something nearby.'
He was getting further and further away from the waterfalls when he first became aware of a new sound. It wasn't like the waterfalls' continuous roar; rather, it was more of an intermittent sound. The fact that the ground would ever so slightly shake whenever the sound was produced is evidence that it was something powerful.
Raydon couldn't help but feel curious when he heard this strange sound, and he began to move in the direction that the sound was coming from. The enigmatic sound that was getting louder and louder drew him forward and kept him moving. In addition to the loud boom that he could hear, the shaking in the ground that he could feel was also accelerating at the same rate.
''What the hell? Do you really expect me to kill this thing? '' In the end, he was able to get to the location where the sound was coming from, and what he saw stunned him.
In front of him stood a gigantic humanoid being that was easily the size of a mountain and had skin that was as blue as the sky. The ground trembled terribly with each step, and the resulting footprints looked like miniature craters.
Raydon watched in astonishment as the titan moved, causing the ground to tremble beneath him with each step, and later released something else. A few of the bees that he had called forth some time ago could be seen hovering close to the feet of this enormous titan.
''What are they doing?'' He pondered as he observed the bees' peculiar behavior.
These mindless beasts would normally launch a suicide attack on the first target they saw, but now they were hovering meekly around this giant's feet, like bees circling around a honeycomb.
Even if the bees were to attack this giant, it was highly unlikely that they would be able to cause any damage. However, the fact that they were simply flying around and not looking for other targets inspired Raydon to consider another possibility.
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
And it didn't take him long to figure out what was happening when six of the bees suddenly blew up with a deafening bang, followed by the message from the system.
[Lv.10 Water Slime (E-Rank) has been killed.]
[You gained 2000 experience points.]
Before his bees attacked, he noticed a bubbling of water coming out from under the blue skin of the giant. Soon after, this bubbling took the form of a water-shaped slime, and when his bees saw this, they immediately attacked and destroyed this monster.
Raydon had the following thought: "Looks like I found myself the experience source, but…"
He was relieved to have found something that would allow him to gain experience points, but his happiness was cut short when he realized that killing even one slime would cost him six bees.
'It appears that this giant is connected to the inheritance reward, but how? '
Raydon's mind was racing with the possibilities of what this giant's role in the inheritance might be. Every inheritance had rewards left behind by the item holder who created it, and Raydon suspected that this seemingly invincible giant was the key to reaching that reward.
Lost in thought, his eyes wandered up towards the sky, and that's when he noticed something shining above the giant's head. It was a glimmering object, almost touching the clouds.
''Are you kidding me? '' Raydon gave this object a closer inspection, and as he did so, he noticed that it appeared to be something contained within a water bubble.
The inheritance reward, it seems, was floating above the giant's head in a water bubble. He did end up finding the connection with this giant, as well as the reward; however, there was a significant challenge that needed to be overcome.
"How in the fuck am I going to get there? " He let out a frustrated yell as he looked up at the head of the giant, which was towering above and almost touching the clouds.
He had no means of flying, and climbing the colossal creature would take too much time. In addition, the slimes that would occasionally materialize on the giant's skin did not give off the impression of being weak monsters that he could easily dispatch.
Because water is one of the elements that make up the slime, even his bees seemed to have less of an impact when trying to kill it. Also, almost all of Raydon's attack skills were based on fire, and it was obvious that physical attacks wouldn't do much damage to these slimes.
''By the way, what rank is this creature? '' Raydon was contemplating alternative methods for acquiring the reward when he suddenly posed a new query.
In spite of the fact that this inheritance is classified as E-Rank, the strength of the living beings that make up this inheritance was only supposed to be E-Rank. On the other hand, it was clear from the giant's outward appearance alone that it possessed a power level significantly higher than that of any E-Rank creature.
Furthermore, even when the slimes appeared on its skin, which Raydon could see the HP bars of thanks to his Death Sense skill, he was unable to locate the HP bar of this blue giant, making it an even more mysterious presence.
''Do I have a chance of killing this thing? '' He scratched his chin thoughtfully while thinking. While he was just planning how he was going to climb on it and get the reward on its head, he was now thinking about how he was going to kill this giant and gain extra experience points.
"Well, I can't know without trying." With a mutter and a greedy look in his eyes, Raydon approached the terrifying and towering giant.
The giant's presence didn't seem to be intended as a mere obstacle to be killed by the participants. However, it was also evident that the item holder who created the inheritance didn't anticipate the arrival of a greedy individual like Raydon who would be tempted by the potential rewards.
