Chapter 98 Permanent Death

Chapter 98 Permanent Death

Raydon pulled his sword back and pondered as he watched the motionless, bloodied body fall to the ground.

''They really are like cockroaches. '' He sighed as he realized he hadn't received the system message informing him that Herman had died.

As he watched, Herman's split upper body, which was slowly regenerating, began to come back together.

''Anyway, I think I have a better way to completely kill you.''

After taking all his items from him, he grabbed his leg and dragged his freak body up the stairs once more.

Once he was upstairs, he proceeded to one of the boiling cauldrons' platforms and dropped Herman's body into it.

"Let's see how long you can last there." Raydon smiled devilishly.

The slime-like substance slowly absorbed Herman's body.

*Hisss*

Due to the acidic nature of the slime, Raydon noticed that the body was rapidly decomposing as it slowly sank and gave off fumes and a hissing sound.

Herman's split head didn't reveal it, but anyone who looked at it closely could see his pain reflected in his expression. This person, who had been kidnapping people and torturing them to death for years, was eventually dying in the worst pain he could have ever imagined.

Soon after, Raydon received the system message he had been anticipating.

[Lv.24 Human(E-Rank) has been killed.]

[You gained 2400 experience points.]

[An item holder is given a permanent death.]

[You gained a dimensional storage fragment: Storage Expansion Orb(Green) ]

The messages from the system that Raydon saw surprised him. ''Permanent death? So killing an item holder for good comes with a reward too? Awesome! ''

Raydon exclaimed happily and was about to open his own dimensional storage to check out this new green-grade dimensional storage expansion orb when he heard a variety of sounds coming from the cauldron.

''What's happening? ''

Herman's body, almost entirely composed of bones and skin, was still sinking when mud began to bubble and overflow. It had even begun to melt the sturdy cauldron in which it was contained.

''No…This shit is going to blow up.'' When Raydon noticed this, he immediately turned around and began running away. He'd seen what this thing did to Herman's body with his own eyes, so he wasn't stupid enough to stay here to assess his own defense.

He jumped downstairs without taking the stairs and began running quickly towards the exit. At this point, the green mud overflowed even more and began to move like a wave, instantly melting everything in its path and leaving hissing sounds and steam in its wake.

Raydon ran at full speed for a while before coming to a halt when he noticed the green mud slowing behind him.

When he turned around, he saw something incredible. ''I'm glad it wasn't one of my stupid moments and I chose to flee.''

The green mud covered a large area and was slowly dissolving into the ground beneath it. But the surprising part wasn't that. In his field of vision, Raydon was unable to see the factory or anything else. Everything had vanished entirely.

''I believe this thing decomposes everything except pure soil,'' Raydon commented as he watched the mud quickly disappear into the ground.

After a few minutes, when the green mud had completely vanished into the ground, Raydon moved forward, stepped into the ground where the mud had vanished, and observed.

''It seems to have completely vanished and doesn't seem dangerous. '' Then he continued, his eyes shifting to the spot where the factory had once stood.

''I wanted to take his craft-related research findings, but he was probably hiding them in his dimensional storage. '' Raydon walked on and came up to where the mud had been before it exploded.

''Hmm? There is something. '' He cautiously walked over to a glowing black obsidian stone that was lying on the ground.

''It looks harmless. I believe this thing was in the mud; it's amazing it wasn't decomposed. '' Raydon examined the strange-looking stone and, knowing it was the only thing left from that acidic mud, decided to take it, thinking it might be valuable.

"It's been a very long day. I think I've had enough fun. I can go back now.''  Raydon sighed as he noticed the sun slowly rising above the horizon. Today was a very enjoyable and fruitful day for him.

---

Dan slowly stood up from the ground as the first light of the day hit him in the face, feeling the chill of the early morning. He grinned as he addressed Rayn, who was watching him with concern.

''I've gotten enough rest, don't worry, I'm fine.'' He patted Rayn on the shoulder.

Rayn nodded, looking at Dan's face, which was paler than ever, and his bloodshot eyes. He could see that Dan had exerted all of his strength to save him.

As Dan turned to face the hundreds of dead bodies that were all around them, he said it in awe. ''He is truly amazing. He annihilated them all in a matter of minutes. I wonder where he is at this moment. ''

Dan shifted his admiring glances in the direction of the factory. He couldn't see that the factory, so far away, had completely vanished, but even if he could, he wouldn't be surprised. After tonight, his belief in Raydon's strength had reached entirely new heights.

''Heeey!!! I found the Boss. There they are, still alive. ''

Dan and Rayn were startled by the sudden sound and looked in the direction of the voice. ''Finally, they showed up.  On their end, I believe everything is resolved as well. ''

After some time, Sami was soon followed by Karan, Pana, and a large group of other people. Evidently, Sami and the other 8 had saved everyone, and now they were all looking for them.

''We searched everywhere and, finally, boss, we found you. '' In a moment of relief, Sami ran in front of Dan and Rayn, gasped, and fell to the ground.

They all appeared exhausted from the mental and physical exhaustion they had been experiencing up to this point, and they thought it was all over, but they didn't realize at the moment that there was one more surprise in store for them.
