Chapter 32 - Witch's Laboratory and Potions
Chapter 32 - Witch's Laboratory and Potions
?Name: Black Iron Supply Chest?
?Type: Chest?
?Description: Open to receive a moderate amount of supplies.?
Yang Yi felt a bit disappointed when the second pull wasn't equipment. But supplies were also something he urgently needed.
Refurbishing the ship had almost drained all their resources.
Yang Yi opened the chest.
?You received: Wood x200, Cloth x200, Stone x200, Steel x50, Crystal x50, Sulphur x50?
"So much?" Yang Yi was in disbelief.
The wood and cloth were expected, but he didn't anticipate getting that many high-grade materials.
The Black Iron Supply Chest was indeed terrifyingly generous!
No wonder the Iron Heart handed over 100 wood without batting an eye — they really didn't lack any.
Suddenly, a private message arrived from Xu Da, captain of the Swift Wind.
"Brother Yang, I'm planning to form a fleet. Are you interested in joining?"
Yang Yi was surprised by how popular he was but still declined.
"Sorry, I don't have any plans to form a group for now."
"Alright, if you change your mind, feel free to message me. My Swift Wind Brigade will always have a spot for you!"
"Thanks!"
After politely refusing, Yang Yi couldn't help but marvel at how quickly these people were moving.
The Grand Sea Map had just opened, and these guys were already eager to start forming their fleets.
"Should I start a fleet too?" Yang Yi suddenly thought.
He didn't want to rely on others, but forming a fleet was also bothersome to manage — it could easily spiral out of control.
Just as he was pondering this, Suna ran over excitedly, her face flushed with excitement.
"Did you just get a lot of supplies?"
"That's right, I just opened a Black Iron Supply Chest."
"Is this...?"
Suna's attention was immediately drawn to the giant Bobbit worm head on the ground.
Before it was installed, the worm head was only the size of a palm and could be easily picked up. Its craftsmanship was exquisite and lifelike.
Suna picked it up, examining it closely, touching here and there, and even took out a knife to record details.
Seeing her pull out the dagger, Yang Yi couldn't help but speak up and snatched the worm head back.
"Stop! This is a rare piece of equipment; what if you break it?"
Suna was speechless.
After Yang Yi stopped her, she gave up on the idea of cutting it and stated her purpose.
"I want to make an expansion building."
"Which one?"
Suna operated on her log for a while, and soon Yang Yi received a request.
?Crew member Suna has requested to build a Witch's Laboratory. Construction requirements: Expansion Space x2, Wood x200, Cloth x200, Stone x100, Steel x50, Crystal x50, Sulphur x20. Once built, this structure cannot be dismantled, so please consider carefully.?
"Witch's Laboratory?"
Yang Yi was puzzled.
He remembered that there was no such option in the list of expansion buildings.
And it required so many materials, plus it took up two expansion spaces...
Yang Yi immediately checked the list of expansion buildings.
Besides the extra cargo hold, ancient war room, and great statue already on the Nightmare, there were two expansions from the Astrologer.
?Lookout Tower: Can scan up to 1,000 nautical miles around. If there is an island, it will be displayed on the sea map, once every three days. Construction requirements: Expansion Space x1, Wood x200, Cloth x100, Stone x100, Crystal x30?
?Glass Cannon: A powerful yet fragile cannon prone to breaking. Construction requirements: Expansion Space x1, Crystal x100, Sulphur x20?
"Where did you see the Witch's Laboratory? It's not on my list," Yang Yi asked with a puzzled look.
"It's an extra expansion from my talent! It won't be a loss to build it," Suna said confidently.
"Well..." Yang Yi was hesitant.
He originally planned to build the cannon.
That way, if they encountered a giant bobbit worm or another large creature at sea, they would have the strength to fight back.
Next, he planned to build the lookout tower.
Island resources were richer than those at sea, and there was the possibility of unearthing chests. If they could frequently obtain resources from islands, it would give them a significant advantage.
But the Witch's Laboratory... Its function was unknown, and it required two expansion spaces.
This meant that until the Nightmare reached level 3, there would be no extra space for building the cannon.
If they ran into a ship with a cannon, they would be at a stark disadvantage.
"Not possible!" Yang Yi firmly refused. "The cannon takes priority. Everything else can wait!"
"Please build it!" Suna wouldn't give up, tugging on his sleeve. "This is my only request. I won't question anything you build after this, okay?"
"Uh...okay but stop tugging on my sleeve!" Yang Yi said sternly, interrupting her.
The woman was no simpleton — her sweet talk was just a disguise!
At the same time, Yang Yi realised another issue.
He needed to manage the relationships between his crew well. If conflicts arose, it could lead to serious problems...like being stabbed in the back!
So, he began to inquire about the building's function.
"What exactly does this Witch's Laboratory do?" Yang Yi asked.
Suna's eyes lit up, sensing a chance!
She had been ready to give up earlier.
Now, she explained in detail.
"This laboratory can provide various research tools. It will allow me to study the structure of demonic creatures and develop new formulas!"
"You can develop formulas?" Yang Yi's interest was piqued.
Seizing the opportunity, Suna took out a bottle of liquid.
"For example, do you think the formula for this Vitality Coconut drink is the best possible ratio? What if we add something else?"
She handed Yang Yi a vial. The system didn't show specific information, but rather...
?Name: Unknown Potion?
?Type: Consumable/Potion/Unique?
?Quality: ?? ?
?Description: You'll only know what it is after you drink it...?
"Try it! If I had the lab, I could make even better ones," Suna urged.
"Are you sure there's no poison in this?"
"I swear this one is safe!"
"So, the others might be poisonous?"
"All medicine has some toxicity — simply drink it!" Suna got annoyed, snatching the potion back and drinking half of it on the spot.
Seeing this, Yang Yi didn't want to appear overly cautious.
With a bit of apprehension, he downed the potion in one gulp.
It was silky and thick, with a familiar fishy smell that shot straight to his head.
Just as Yang Yi was about to curse, he paused.
The potion's name appeared.
?Stamina recovered by 10, stamina recovery speed increased by 50%?(Only half consumed)
?Name: Vitality Siren Juice?
?Type: Consumable/Potion/Unique?
?Quality: Premium?
?Description: A potion crafted by Witch Suna using the mucus secreted from a siren’s skin, mixed with salt and vitality coconut. Restores 15 stamina, increases stamina recovery speed by 75% for 8 hours. Overconsumption may cause poisoning.?
"This...you made this?" Yang Yi asked in surprise.
"Yes, and if I had the lab, I could make even better potions!"
Yang Yi was astonished!
Being able to develop her own formulas — he didn't need to think twice to realise how valuable that was.
Suna was a walking goldmine!
With her, he wouldn't need to worry about running out of vitality coconut or how to restore stamina afterwards.
Why not just ask her to develop a new potion?
As the captain, it was only natural to make requests. Crew members had to obey!
"Let's build that laboratory, then!" Yang Yi agreed, approving Suna's request in the log.
Little did he know, in the future…
…he would regret drinking the witch’s potion.
