Chapter 281: A Night of Revelations
Chapter 281: A Night of Revelations
Hela was really happy when she was allowed to go and travel the multiverse. It was a nice change from just seeing the same thing again and again.
She was really excited when she came to the strange yet familiar earth. She later found out that the world was infected with something that made some humans turn cannibalistic and unable to eat normal food.
She was in a country named Japan and was continuously killing these sinners. She had checked the purity of the world and it was at 40%.
However, even after 15 years of killing, purity wasn't rising. The number of man-eaters was the same too.
She was eventually approached by an organization called the Commission of Counter Ghoul. But she soon got fed up with their incompetence and took over the organization.
Then she started expanding and killing as many Ghouls around the world as possible. Yet no solution seemed to appear. She was not a scientist so she had no way of making a cure. Not even the origin of these Ghouls was known so she didn't know how to stop it.
Soon, a few more years passed and she got fed up and called her grandpa.
...
Terrace of CCG main office building, Tokyo, 1st ward.
Hela stood there waiting for Alexander. Behind her stood the Beuro chief, Yoshitoki Washuu, and 6 of the Special Class Investigators. The Special class was the highest rank achievable in the organization."Why are all the Special Classes here, what if an SS or SSS attacks somewhere?" Koutarou Amon asked his instructor, Yukinori Shinohara, Special Class.
"Stay quiet, she told us she has asked someone to come who can deal with all the Ghouls in the world. Till now she has never lied so keep your fingers crossed and wait." Shinohara whispered at him.
Koori Ui, another newly-promoted Special class, huffed, "Hah, She can alone kill SSS like flies, if even she can't do it then I don't have much hope. And if there is someone even stronger than her then he's probably some god."
Kishou Arima nodded, "Let's just wait and watch."
*BOOM*
A white light struck from the sky like thunder. It took a moment for all of them to adjust their vision to look clearly.
Where the light struck was now an unnaturally tall old man. But they felt majestic and very strong vibes from him.
"GRANDPA!"
To all of their surprise, their cold, ruthless and super hot boss changed into a spoiled granddaughter and jumped to hug the man. Many of the simps/admirers gritted their teeth in jealousy.
Alexander hugged Hela as he made himself a normal-sized human, "Hahaha... my Hela. What have you been up to? I got so worried about you. I thought you were in danger but I see everything is fine here."
"Oh, who can be a threat to the goddess of war? I asked for you because I've been stuck in this word for the past 20 years and the purity hasn't gone up one bit." She complained.
"Hmm, that's strange. Where are we? Tell me about this world." He asked her as they started walking into the building. Alexander felt like one of the men, the one with white hair standing there, was weird.
The bureau chief tried to shake hands but he was ignored and they moved inside.
"Grandpa, there seems to be some kind of disease going on. There are humans who become very powerful after getting infected and they cannot eat anything besides flesh. Humans are their favorite. They can have different kinds of powers related to their physical deformities. I tried to kill all of these infected people but more seem to pop out every day." She explained,
"So you asked me to come here so I could make an antidote, ha?" He asked.
Hela embarrassingly nodded and Alexander continued, "Haha, it's all right. Bring me a tissue sample."
Hela nodded and brought him to a lab where all the research happened. "Special Class Arima, aid grandpa in whatever he asks for."
Alexander looked at the same white-haired guy and walked up to him, "Why do I feel like you are different?"
"Oh, he's nicknamed the White Reaper. He's very good at killing the Ghouls." Hela told him.
"Okay, bring me a sample of an unharmed Ghoul Tissue." He told him.
Arima went to a freezer and brought out a glass cylinder, "This is a recent collection from a raid."
Alexander simply took it out and brought out his super microscope made by Alfred.
"Sir, I recommend you don't touch it with your bare hands." Arima pointed.
"It's all right, kid. This thing can't affect me. Now let me see."
He started checking the DNA strands, "Hmm, whatever this virus is, it has changed the DNA a lot. But I need a normal human DNA sample to determine if this mutation is natural in nature or artificial."
"Give me a drop of your blood, Arima." He told him.
Arima was silent for a second, showing his hesitation. "Can't you take your own blood?"
"Just do it, Arima, if he could he would have done it. His skin is stronger than steel and needles can't penetrate it." Hela sternly ordered.
Arima let Alexander take his blood but the tension was clear on his face. Alexander put it under the microscope.
"Hah, no wonder you felt different. Your DNA is the same as this, the Ghouls. So you are one of them?" Alexander loudly announced.
The nearby investigators flinched with the news while Arima's one eye quickly changed and became red. He took out a spear-like weapon.
Hela just stayed put, she had no reason to worry as Alexander was closer to Arima and could take him down with a finger and she already had her doubts that Arima was a hybrid ghoul.
"Kid, calm down. At least explain why you've infiltrated this place. What's your agenda?" Alexander asked.
"Coexistence. That is my agenda. Ghouls are now a part of the world we live in and no matter what, you cannot kill them all. Working to make a society where both kinds of humans can live is my agenda. What about you?" Arima coldly asked.
"Huh, well, for now, it is to make an antidote for this Ghoul virus. Dammit, you there, give me your blood." Alexander pointed to a young man.
"Yes sir, I am Koutarou Amon, First Class." Amon ran up to him and quickly gave him his blood.
Arima confusedly stood there, thinking what he was supposed to do because people were ignoring him right now as if he didn't exist.
Alexander finally matched the DNA and made his conclusion, "Well, the good thing. It is reversible. The bad thing is, it is man-made. Which means someone either mistakenly spread it or with some agenda."
The news shocked everyone, even Arima was shocked. The origin of Ghouls was shrouded in mystery and no one knew when the first case came.
"But why would someone do it? This will do nothing but destroy human civilization." He asked without even realizing it.
"Hah, and that is probably just what they want. What if it was some alien civilization that threw this virus on our planet, rather than directly attacking they now just have to wait until all the people turn into Ghouls and all Ghouls eat or kill each other." Alexander hypothesized.
"Well, I'm going to need a few things. Here's a list. I also need a bit more of the blood of the strongest Ghoul you know. If you don't have it then just tell me where to find it. I'll catch it." He asked.
"It is the One-Eyed Owl" Amon answered.
"Okay, I'll catch this owl." he got up to leave.
"No, the One-Eyed King is the strongest, and I am the One-Eyed King," Arima revealed, giving everyone another jaw-dropping moment.
Alexander yawned, "What a night of revelations. Just come here and give me some blood then. Hela, I want you to round up all the organizations in the world that are experimenting with Ghouls. You won't be able to find them later when everyone is healed."
Soon, Alexander made the antidote in record time and gave it to Arima to test it out. "Drink it. If it works on you then it can work on anyone."
Arima didn't have a choice so he went with it. They waited for 15 minutes for the changes to appear. One of the obvious ones was that his hair were turning from white to dark blue.
"Someone bring some good vegetarian food. Let's test if we were successful or not." Alexander ordered.
Arima quickly ate some rice and curry in the hope that it would work.
Everyone waited to hear his experience when suddenly they saw slight tears welling up in his eyes.
"Haha, I think we were successful, boys. Start mass producing it." Alexander announced.
Arima looked up at Alexander, "Who are you?"
He asked because, in so many years of existence of ghouls, no one was able to make such an antidote but this man did it in a few hours.
"Haha, you don't need to know that, kid. Just take ease in knowing that there is no need for Ghouls and Human coexistence. Now you just need to live peacefully as a single race, which I believe is going to be harder." He replied and went to Hela.
"So, I am done here, child. Do you want me to round up all the Ghouls in the world too?" He asked.
"No, grandpa. I will do that myself. Now I can finally complete my task." Hela answered cheerfully.
"Well, if that's all, I'll go back. Dobby is waiting for me on the other side. Call me again if you find any problems." He gave her a hug and moved back.
Again a white light came and took him away.
Hela looked back at everyone with the cold and emotionless face, "Come on, work fast. We need to inject this antidote not just in Ghouls but also in normal people. Who knows there might be some Ghouls living like normal humans."
Everyone sighed and cursed under their breath, wanting to see their smiling and cheerful hot boss again.
