Chapter 659: I AM HATS, GOD OF CHAOS

"Aw, he's so cute." Raphtalia caressed sleeping Hats' head.

"Eh? But... look at his smile. It's scary." Melty had opposite thoughts.

"Calm down, you. We are reaching the border. I hope we don't meet any fools now." Naofumi said.

They eventually took a direct approach and went straight to the border gate. But, as they neared it they heard a loud blow horn sound. The doors of the border castle opened and a few soldiers came out. Behind them was a blonde man with a spear.

He was Motoyasu Kitamura, the spear hero and possibly the dumbest man alive in the entirety of the human race. He demonstrates high levels of self-delusion and willful ignorance, if not plain idiocy. He only hears what he wants to hear and ignores whatever might upset him.

Motoyasu was one of the Four Legendary Heroes summoned from another world. He was summoned along with the three other Legendary Heroes in Melromarc. Like two of the other heroes, Motoyasu pretends that he doesn't care about being summoned to another world. Motoyasu doesn't particularly think much of the other heroes and rather invests his time in chasing and flirting with women.

Naofumi went to talk to Motoyasu, but the brainless man attacked Naofumi, calling him out for enslaving Raphtalia and Filo with his slave shield. He also believed that Naofumi killed the other two heroes but at this point, it was unknown if he truly cared for them or just wanted to feel superior by acting as the face of justice.

He did not listen to anything Naofumi had to say. Soon, his Motoyasu's unofficial master, the first Princess of Melromarc, Malty came. She was the root of all the problems.

She accused Naofumi and erected a lightning prison around them. Then, they all started fighting. But still, even when Motoyasu had everything he needed to become strong all this time, he lost to Naofumi, who was denied everything.

But soon, they noticed a problem. All the soldiers had gone away from there. Then suddenly, Filo shouted.

"Master, the shield. Bring out that dark shield. And place a bunch of stuff above us or else we're done for. Hurry up, now." She insisted.

Naofumi took her advice and placed the dark shield around them.

"More shields," Filo said.

Naofumi did as asked. "Air Strike Shield, Second Shield."

Just then, out of nowhere, a golden light fell directly from the sky on them. It was like a nuclear explosion, pulverising everything around in a large radius, even destroying the border castle and a big amount of the wall.

All of them inside were scared, except Naofumi because only he had the power to save everyone. Soon, the shields broke down, so he used his own to save everyone. Slowly, the attack dissipated. It was so strong that now all of them were inside a pit, around them were molten rocks, looking like lava.

They were confused about what happened when suddenly, claps sounded on the cliff.

"My, how wonderful. You took the high-class multi-caster ritual magic, judgement head-on and remain standing? I'd expect nothing less from the shield devil." The man said as he kept on clapping, trying to make himself look badass.

The man was none other than the pope of the church of the three heroes. All were shocked at why this man was doing this. He seemed nice and amiable to most of them.

Pope proceeded to give a speech and claimed he would purify them in the name of god. Which god, nobody knew. Malty tried to stop him, telling him she was to be the next queen, however, the pope simply said that she would also die and he would tell Naofumi did it. The man was being framed for stuff he didn't do from day one of his arrival.

But, suddenly Raphtalia exclaimed loudly, "WAAAH... Naofumi, w-we... forgot that cat in the cart. We brought him to his death. If we had left him there..."

They realised it too late though. The huge explosion was able to turn rocks into lava, what was a cat for it. Even ashes probably didn't remain.

But they were mistaken. All of them were mistaken. Hats was already in a bad mood because of Ragnarok. Then he got Gold Poisoning and now his beauty sleep was disturbed. Even an ordinary man would get angry for this, he was the God of Chaos. Just because he lived with Alexander and called Olivia Grandma and loved everyone there didn't mean he forgot his true nature of being Chaos God. Anger was supposed to be one of his strengths.

"LOOK... THERE... It's alive." Filo shouted in her human form.

Everyone turned and saw Hats' body as the distance from them on one of the rocks that were nearly molten.

Hats opened his eyes slowly. His face had the scariest smile he had ever shown. Like a zombie, he got up and looked around.

"WHICH BASTARD SPOILED MY SLEEP?" He asked. Shocking everyone.

He looked at Raphtalia and Filo, but he ignored them. Then he looked at Naofumi and Motoyasu, these two seemed the most powerful here.

"WHAT IS THAT? IT LOOKS HIDEOUS. DEMON... I WILL DESTROY YOU..." Motoyasu shouted and ran towards Hats with his spear out.

The man was seeking his own death. On top of that, he called Hats ugly. For this, Olivia would have scolded him to death. Hats was not ugly for the people of Phixheim.

*TING*

Hats stopped the attack with his little paw and it made the sound as if the spear clashed with metal.

"Do you even know whom you are messing with? Don't anger me more or I will destroy this planet and remake it without humans." Hats coldly said and disintegrated the spear into nothingness. The Spear Hero lost his Legendary Spear.

"YOU... WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SPEAR? I WILL KILL YOU..." Motoyasu went into a foolish rage.

Then Hats flew in the air and lifted Motoyasu by his hair. "It was a consequence of your own actions, mortal. You disgust me."

"AAAAAAAAAAAA..." Motoyasu screamed in pain as Hats swung him by his blonde hair, then Hats motioned to throw him towards the wall of the cliff.

*RRRRIP...*

Motoyasu's hair gave up. They came out of his scalp and his body flew and collided with the cliff wall. His head was bleeding with very small patches of hair left here and there.

Then Hats looked at Naofumi, "You have something to say?"

Naofumi shook his head. He had seen Hats' level. It just showed ???????. This actually scared him a little. Also, he liked seeing Motoyasu punished a bit, who told him to charge ahead.

"FOR THIS COUNTRY, RIGHTEOUS ORDER... Shield Devil as well as this new devil, all shall die." The pope was still at it. He fired a shot from the fake legendary sword of the sword hero.

It directly touched Hats' back. Nothing happened. It didn't even move him. But hie eyes were colder.

He directly flew to the Pope. He saw there were lots of people standing behind him, praying.

"What is this? A weapon that drains their power? Pathetic." Hats mocked. Then he proceeded to snatch the weapon and destroy it into ashes.

"I AM HATS, GOD OF CHAOS. You want to kill me? Even a trillion of you won't be a match for my single nail. Now see what God's true punishment looks like." Hats raised his hand towards the sky.

Then suddenly a giant meteor appeared, falling towards them. Then, suddenly the meteor divided itself into small pieces and followed every single person trying to run from there.

The Pope was shocked. He was also a coward. He prostrated, "Chaos God, please forgive this fool's sin. I'm but a mortal."

"Didn't you call yourself the apostle of God? Good then, this god demands you start shouting all your devilish schemes. Do not stop for even a single moment, or else, that meteor will fall on you, destroying your head like a watermelon under a carriage wheel." Hats said.

Meanwhile, all the followers of Pope and Church of 3 heroes were being killed by the falling meteorites. Their bodies were being turned into meat paste. They screamed, but only the door to hell awaited them.
