Chapter 1962 The Dark Hand Behind The Scenes.
Jason v226 knows that there is plenty she can do, such as telling her brother what he is planning. But he doubts she will do that because she has a lot to lose if she does that. All in all, she needs him, so he can be reassured that she won't turn on him yet. Another Jason approached him and said, "I don't like her."
He chuckled and said, "Neither do I." The other clone chuckled too. "Maybe it is the god of power rubbing off on us. We are technically his clones if you think about it."
He shook his head. "But we are not the god of power or have anything significant that belongs to him. If we did, she would have eaten us."
His clone laughed. "That's a good thing. But the bad thing is that we don't have the potential the god of power has. If we had, maybe we could have mastered the 33 law concept much earlier." He nodded in agreement. "She needs us, and because we don't have the potential to threaten her, we became good tools for her. That's the only reason she decided to work with us. She certainly doesn't need us as much as Legion."
The clone sighed and said, "Look how low we have fallen. We used to be the smartest in the void universe. World gods used to fear us. Now we don't have as much potential as Legion."
He sighed too. "We never did. All our potential came from the system. It came from their brother outside of the void universe. This whole thing is just a game between the three of them."
The clone agreed. "We are just pawns. Even Legion."
"But Legion won't be a pawn for much longer. That's why she didn't approach him directly. The four of them are players in this game. We are just shadows of Jason, who is just a clone of the god of power. It is the truth, but it is a bitter pill to swallow." He patted the clone's back and encouraged him. "We are only pawns for now. The Origin is capable of so much. That's why the void universe itself is also a player. If Legion can do it, so can we." The other clone said, "Yes. And if the Lord of Madness can do it, so can we."
Then the three of them said, "At the end of the day, the path of Supremacy will be ours."
They spoke without care that she could be around listening to them. It is because what they have said is an open secret. It is something she suspects and must expect of them. She just can't believe them if they had said that they were willing to be her tool for her goals and die together with the void universe without finding a way to survive. They aren't willing, and she is not stupid enough to believe it. She may not be their wise brother outside of the void universe, but she is clearly smart in her own right. She wanted to create someone who could match her brother. That person had to have the potential to stop the god of power from achieving his goals. The only choice she had for such a target is Legion. But she couldn't contact Legion herself or make herself known to him in any way because if Legion can threaten her brother, he can threaten her too. She is supposed to be untouchable, but she didn't let that cloud her judgment and let her risk Legion knowing of her existence. She preferred to stay in the dark, manipulating things without any danger to herself.
Besides, Legion is too suspicious. He wouldn't have believed the words of a stranger that can disappear without a trace and go anywhere, including their inner world. So she hid herself from Legion and found someone else to be her go-between. That someone else were Jason's clones.
Apparently, his plan to create a way out for himself through his clones when he was still the realm lord was known by both the system and the god of soul. But both of them didn't tell the god of power. Instead, they kept his secret and sought to use him against their brother.
Back then, when he first met her, he thought she was here to support her brother and make sure that he succeeded at all costs. Now he is not so sure that is her motive. According to his estimates of her goal, she wants her brother to succeed, but only so that she can take for herself what her brother has worked for. As for the system, he doesn't know what its motive is apart from his suspicion that the system doesn't want the god of power to become too strong.
If the god of the soul is to be believed, even though the system would gain a lot if the god of power succeeds, it would be content with the god of power failing.
Apparently, as long as the god of power can return alive from the void universe, the system would have gained enough valuable information for their brother outside of the void universe. So the three of them are acting against each other and need a tool and a middleman. That's why the god of soul and the system let him live and gave him all the information that he passed across to Legion. Most of the information he passed across to Legion was things he didn't know himself. Clearly, being a middleman has helped him to learn a lot about the void universe and beyond.
But he is not content with that. Not after the recent success that the clones just had. Many generations of the clones have been trying and failing to create a concept with all 33 laws. This is a deadly endeavor that has led to the death of millions of Jasons. But they all attempt it without a care for their lives. Fortunately, their sacrifice has finally borne some fruit.
