Chapter 1192: If I Can Ever Go into Space, I’ll Take You with Me

Nian Xi wondered what kind of life he was living before.

“Aren’t all guys into cars?”

She was a girl, but still, she always wanted to buy a new car. Nian Qingyun never let her do that. He said that a police officer should not drive an expensive car, because that might create an unhealthy atmosphere. Therefore, she had been driving her Audi Q5 for years.

She was rich but wasn’t allowed to spend her money the way she wanted.

“I’m not into cars. I’m into studying and astronomy.”

“Astronomy... Ah,” Nian Xi stuttered, “The stars are beautiful indeed...”

“Yes, but space is even more beautiful.” Speaking of that, Jiang Yuning became excited. “I really want to go into space and see how things look in there.”

Nian Xi only wanted to go abroad to see what other countries were like, yet he wanted to go into space. Was he even strong enough to do that?

Nian Xi was surprised.

“If I can ever go into space, I’ll take you with me,” Jiang Yuning turned, looked at her and said.

“Eh, thank you, but no. I think I’ll stay on earth,” Nian Xi said. She had seen some great movies about outer space when she was little. It was beautiful, but also scary.”

“Alright,” Jiang Yuning said regrettably, “I’ll take you to see black holes and fixed stars with an astronomical telescope next time.”

Nian Xi blinked, and couldn’t help but scratch the back of her head and said, “Isn’t a black hole a hole in the color black? Is a fixed star a type of star?”

Jiang Yuning knitted his brows slightly, said, “Xi, you are so ignorant.”

“I’m not an astronomer,” Nian Xi said, “I don’t remember everything I learned in high school. I had to memorize all kinds of laws in college. Tell me about criminal law if you can. I can recite it from the first line to the last.”

“I can’t do that,” Jiang Yuning dropped his head.

“So, don’t call me ignorant,” Nian Xi smiled.

“I’m sorry,” said Jiang Yuning honestly, “But, since you know absolutely nothing about black holes, I decided to tell you something about them.”

During the next forty minutes, Nian Xi was listening to him talking about black holes the whole time.

Looking at the endlessly talking boy, she even started wondering what she had found in him to dislike before. He didn’t even need to take a break when he talked about science.

Finally, she parked the car downstairs. Regrettably, Jiang Yuning said, “Time is too limited today. I haven’t finished yet. I’ll continue next time.”

“Thank you, but I don’t understand a word about neutron stars and the theory of relativity that you just talked about,” Nian Xi said, “You have to understand that I’m not one of your students. What you said was too profound for me.”

Jiang Yuning blinked. He had made it as easy to understand as he could, so why did she still not understand?

Nian Xi continued, “I did understand one thing you said, that we might be able to travel back in time through a black hole. Maybe you can take me to the Tang Dynasty someday. I’d choose that over a trip in the space.”

Jiang Yuning was stunned for a second, then said, “I... I can’t do that. That’s only a hypothesis. I can try to make the space trip happen for real, though.

Seeing him try so hard to think, Nian Xi couldn’t help but rest her arms on the steering wheel and burst out laughing. She laughed so hard that tears began streaming down her cheeks.

She hadn’t known any scientist before. After knowing Jiang Yuning, who was both a physicist and an astronomer, she felt as if she lived in a fantasy movie.

“Why are you laughing again? I’m serious,” Jiang Yuning was utterly confused.

“Nothing. I just feel that you are so capable,” Nian Xi stopped laughing, said to him honestly, “I’ve never met anyone like you before.”
