Chapter 1552: Your Little Brother-In-Law Is Quite Something. He Has So Many Tricks up His Sleeve
He was beginning to feel superfluous in his own home.
...
At approximately eight p.m., Xu Zhengxuan came to visit his grandson.
Mo Jin had gone to Europe for a few days. Feeling especially lonely, he could only rely on his daughter and grandchild to console him.
When Xu Zhengxuan saw that Yan Jin was present too, he decided to join the two children to watch a cartoon.
Yan Jin nibbled on some snacks for a while and suddenly appeared beside Xu Zhengxuan. “Uncle, do you have any sons?” he asked.
“Yeah, I do.” Xu Zhengxuan nodded with a smile.
“How old is he?”
“Twenty-two,” Xu Zhengxuan answered amiably. “Why are you asking, little fellow?”
“That’s coincidental. I have a sister too,” Yan Jin said without a change in beat as he began to swing his little legs. “She’s very pretty. Why don’t we introduce her to your son?”
Seated on the couch beside them, Nian Junting choked on his tea and could not help spitting it out.
He had to hand it to this little brother-in-law of Mo Liuxi. His sister was already attached, and he was still looking to play matchmaker for her. Moreover, he refused to believe that Yan Jin did not know that Mo Liuxi was Xu Zhengxuan’s son. This boy was here to stir trouble.
Furthermore, while he addressed Nian Junting as an uncle, he called Xu Zhengxuan, who was a whole generation older, uncle as well. Nian Junting was seriously thinking of smacking him.
Stunned for a moment, Xu Zhengxuan then chuckled. “Your sister is Yan Su, isn’t she? I’ve seen Yan Su a few times. She’s a pretty lady.”
“Yeah,” Yan Jin replied as he continued swinging his legs. “But my sister is a little older.”
“I have no objection to relationships where the woman is older than the man. Furthermore, the age difference isn’t significant either.” Xu Zhengxuan nodded with a laugh. “However, I’m afraid your sister won’t be okay with it. To be honest, I think Yan Su can do a lot better. My son’s... character is too cold. Of course, it’s also because he seems to already have a girlfriend, though I’ve never met her before.”
Yan Jin nodded his little head.
Xu Zhengxuan patted him on his head. “Don’t worry, I’m confident that someone as eligible as your sister will certainly meet a good man. If my son didn’t have a girlfriend and was one to listen to me, I’d definitely introduce them. Unfortunately, my word doesn’t count for much at home. My son and wife don’t listen to me.”
He paused for a moment and said bitterly to Nian Junting, “Junting, I’m sure you can empathize with me.”
Nian Junting did not answer.
It was not his fault that his father-in-law was content to live under the thumb of others.
“Uncle, you’re a good father,” Yan Jin consoled him. “I too wish that I didn’t have to listen to my parents, but they’re always insistent on dictating what I do.”
Xu Zhengxuan guffawed. “They’re doing it for your own good.”
When Luosang was done bathing Little Apple and carried him down, she found the elderly man and little boy chatting happily together.
Nian Junting took a snapshot and sent it to Mo Liuxi with the message, “Your little brother-in-law is quite something. He has so many tricks up his sleeve...”
...
Mo Liuxi was watching television with his daughter and his future mother-in-law when he saw the WeChat message, and his eyes widened so much that they almost flew out of their sockets.
“Oh my god... Mom... Is Jin here too? Is he having dinner at my home?” He showed the picture to Jiang Peiying hesitantly. Why had no one mentioned this before?
“Oh yeah. I forgot all about it!” Jiang Peiying exclaimed as she smacked her thigh. “I had no idea that Luosang was your sister, given that she has a different family name from you. She treated us to lunch in the afternoon and invited Yan Jin to her home to play. When Yan Jin heard that she has a little son, he was very eager to go.”
Mo Liuxi did not reply. He had no idea if Jiang Peiying was feigning ignorance or not, but he was sure that Yan Jin was precocious enough to know what was going on. Had that little fellow gone to interact with his father to pave the way for his sister?
“Yeah. Luosang took my dad’s family name, while I took my mom’s. That’s my father,” Mo Liuxi said softly.
