Chapter 1923: Could be Used to Try Other Pillows
“Some colleagues came to visit me when you returned to cook in the morning. I told them to pass the message to let the others not to visit as I needed some peace,” Xu Baohan said tiredly, shifting his body to the side while lifting the blanket.
After gazing at him hesitantly for a while, An Lan could not resist the urge to fall asleep. Taking her jacket off, she curled up in the blanket after pulling the curtains shut.
Xu Baohan curled up his lips as he felt the softness of her body. The next time they sleep together, they will share a pillow. The bed was still too small.
The man did not fall asleep. He had been lying on the bed for the entire morning, but An Lan fell asleep very quickly. She slept pretty well.
However, Xu Baohan was not well-behaved. He stayed close to her secretly.
The young woman slept until three in the afternoon when a nurse came over to give Xu Baohan an IV drip. She woke up with a sore neck.
Xu Baohan saw it. After the nurse left, he raised his eyebrows and looked at her, “Let’s sleep together tonight. I have a pillow.”
As soon as An Lan heard those words, his heart began to beat like a drum. She pretended to be calm as she brushed her hair behind her ear, “What’s so great about having a pillow? The quality of the pillows in the hospital doesn’t make a big difference to my sleep.”
Xu Baohan frowned, refusing to give up, “I find this pillow to be very comfortable. You can try it tonight.”
An Lan tried her best to hold back her laugh as she felt that Xu Baohan should have a better excuse to bewitch her.
“If you are not satisfied with the hospital’s pillows, you can try other pillows too.”
An Lan was confused as she wondered if there were other pillows in the hospital.
Xu Baohan smiled, “You can choose from my arms or my chest.”
“It doesn’t seem like there is anything wrong with your brain. You can leave the hospital now.”
“I’m serious.”
An Lan’s face was burning. She lowered her head and took out her phone, mumbling, “Then, I’ll give it a try tonight.”
The joy in Xu Baohan’s eyes could not be hidden as his lips curled into a smile.
Maybe it was not a bad thing to be hospitalized.
...
Dinner ended when it was past seven in the evening. An LAN was peeling mangosteen on her chair when Su Run came over.
Xu Baohan shot him a cold glance, “‘Did I not tell you not to come to visit me? If there’s a problem, you can call me.”
It was annoying to have these third wheelers dropping by and disrupt the peace between him and An Lan.
Su Run felt a little aggrieved as he was being despised even before he could get any closer, “I’m not here to see you; I’m here to see Lawyer An.”
A dangerous smile appeared on his lips as Xu Baohan narrowed his eyes, “Be mindful with the words you use.”
“Leader, the matter I attend to is crucial. Didn’t Lawyer An ask me to go to the court entrance to check the CCTV before I left yesterday? There were some clues.”
In contrast with Xu Baohan, who frowned, An Lan’s eyes lit up upon hearing Su Run’s words, “Who did they see at the entrance?”
Su Run handed a photo over to An Lan, “Lawyer An, you should know this person. He is He Mingqian’s assistant.”
An Lan recognized the man in the photo immediately. Her eyes darkened, and her heart began to burn. She concluded after some time that He Mingqian must be the one responsible for what happened throughout these periods.
Her mind could not comprehend how such trash could exist in this world. The man had no bottom line when it came to revenge.
Su run continued, “At first, I didn’t know who he was. Then, I reviewed other CCTV footage to see that he exited the court building with He Mingqian. He Mingqian had a lawsuit in court yesterday afternoon. According to the CCTV footage, his assistant had a few words with Zhao Gui before Zhao Gui left on his own. About forty minutes later, he climbed over the wall of the court building and sneaked up to the top floor. I’m certain it’s He Mingqian behind all this.”
