Chapter 798: Junting, You Have to Help Me

“Junting...”

Leng Shuangwei looked at Nian Junting and said, “I’m not asking you to pretend it didn’t happen. My mother did something wrong, and she will go to prison if she needs to. But, please don’t sue her for murder. She is my mother. She is an awful person, but still, she is my mother. Please, don’t do it. Just... think of it as payback for me, for saving your grandma.”

She was too proud to mention that she had saved his grandma. After all, it was her duty to save people. Saying that out loud might seem like she was disgracing herself. But she had to mention it.

Nian Junting raised his eyes coldly. He stared at Jiang Qifei for half a minute, then finally started talking.

“Alright, I won’t sue her. But you have to promise me that from now on, your mother will stay as far away from us as possible, and that she’ll never show up and act like a crazy woman. To be honest, if my baby had died today, or if something bad had happened to Luosang, I’d make her wish for death.”

He stood up, his face filled with anger and cruelty. “I’ll be honest with you. If you can’t restrain your mother, disown her as soon as you can. Don’t let her become your problem.”

Jiang Qifei looked at Leng Shuangwei with both fear and concern.

“Shuangwei, please don’t abandon me. You’re all I have. If even you abandoned me, I think I would just die.”

She burst into tears again.

“I promise I’ll never do anything like that again. It was a spur of the moment thing. I got angry when I saw Xu Luosang, but, I never wanted to hurt her.”

Leng Shuangwei smiled bitterly and said, “I get it. Junting, Nian Xi, thank you both.”

“I’ll take off then,” Nian Junting said and walked outside.

Jiang Qifei made him sick.

“Shuangwei, I don’t want to go to prison. Can I not go to prison?” Jiang Qifei looked at Nian Xi and begged.

Leng Shuangwei frowned and said, “If you’re afraid of going to prison, you shouldn’t hurt people. Liao Qiulong hasn’t shown up yet. I think you can give up on him now. Divorce him when you’re released after serving your sentence, then come and live with me. I’ll keep an eye on you, in case you hook up with some other guy.”

...

On his way back, Nian Junting got a call from Nian Qingyun, “What was going on just now?”

“Like what you heard?” Nian Junting asked, sounding careless.

On the other end of the phone, Nian Qingyun breathed heavily for a while, then said through clenched teeth, “I was so blind.”

“You finally realized that.” Nian Junting snorted scornfully.

Nian Qingyun was so angry that he nearly passed out. When he had heard what Jiang Qifei said through the phone, he trembled with anger.

He regretted what he did so much that he couldn’t even sleep sometimes.

However, he had never blamed anyone but himself.

But recently, Jiang Qifei renewed his thoughts over and over again.

He didn’t thoroughly realize how shameless that woman was until that day.

“I never seduced her,” Nian Qingyun said, horrified. “I never gave her any gift or promised to marry her.”

“Alright, don’t tell me about those shitty details.” Nian Junting snapped.

Nian Qingyun gave a long sigh, then said earnestly, “Junting, you need to help me. I can’t forget your mother. Don’t you want us to be a happy family again like we used to be? I promise that I’ll be so nice to her. I won’t be like before.”

“Like before? You can’t be like before even if you want to, right? You’re so old. Can you still do that?”
