Chapter ?91 Harem City Progress
Chapter ?91 Harem City Progress
Leon and his Dainty Death Squad returned to the park with an entourage. Their excessively cutesy outfits instantly created a sensation among the haremites.
The juxtaposition between their murderous personalities and cute attire was so pronounced that people couldn't help but be drawn into the charm. It sent whispers rippling through Harem City, and soon everyone entered the area to capture a glimpse.
Lindy twirled her dress to garner the attention of haremites, who soaked up her cuteness. Reina kicked rocks with an aloof expression, and Caitlyn walked backward in front of Leon.
Minx walked behind Leon, hiding the gazes of everyone.
Tricksie had a blissful expression as Leon played with her ears as promised.
The group walked over to Layla, finishing preparations for the "showers."
"Eyo. How are things going, Layla?" Leon asked while appraising the large strip mall store that the group converted into a bathhouse.
The shaved-headed woman turned to him with an icy glare. "It would be done now if [someone] didn't have all of the women go shopping earlier."
He waved his hand dismissively. "Minx, if you would."
Minx's gold earring glowed red, and a pair of yoga pants materialized.
Layla looked at Leon suspiciously. "Yoga pants? If you're trying to improve my mood, get me some more help."
"You've never worn a pair of these, have you?" Leon laughed arrogantly.
She scoffed and turned away. "I'm a lesbian with a shaved head, idiot. Do you think I like girly shit?"
"You will." He replied with a mocking smile while throwing her the yoga pants.
The corner of her mouth twitched in vexation. "Aren't you supposed to be the non-mysogenistic asshole?"
"That's an elegant way of saying I'm arbitrary to men and women." Leon chuckled, "That means I'll give you the same thing that Minx here is growling at you for refusing."
Layla turned to Minx, who was hiding behind Leon. Only her head and bare arm were visible.
The cat woman looked extremely formidable and didn't do girly. So when Layla saw her indigent expression, she looked down at the pants with confusion.
"They're gold." Leon said in summation.
"Whatever. Things are good; let's check it out." The woman gruffed while putting the yoga pants onto her belongings. Then she led them into the bathhouse.
Leon's eyes widened in shock when he walked inside.
"I thought we were just... creating showers." He laughed in amazement.
"If this were the world pre-apocalypse, we would have." Layla said with a satisfied smile, "But magic cuts down work requirements to a tenth of what they were, and the architects think in blueprints. So why not?"
The bathhouse was a hot spring.
A hot spring.
A serious fucking hot spring.
Not just a bathhouse "imitating" a hot spring.
No. If someone didn't know it was artificial, they'd think it was a real hot spring.
There was a large pool area surrounded by imported boulders and a massive rock wall on the left side with a waterfall.
A waterfall. Water was falling from the top of a damn rock and crashing into the hot spring.
In the center was a stone table where people could sit and talk.
There was a section that had pulleys from the ceiling. A haremite was pulling it, and a full shower followed.
The ridiculous part was the walk-in shampoo dispensers. They were built out of wood and had a shower head type faucet that a person moved to their scalp. After pressing a button, it dispensed the shampoo directly.
It was excessively decadent.
"Now you're just showing off." Leon laughed in bewilderment.
"Of course. Building with magic feels like cheating." Layla replied with a satisfied smile, "So we're having a lot of fun with it. The showers are on the wall."
Leon looked at the 200-foot tiled wall on the back; there were fifty showerheads on the wall with drains under each. "Will we be able to heat his much water without daily magic usage?"
"That's a good question." She replied, "The electricity mages can create a day's worth of electricity in an hour and store it into batteries they're building. It's part of their blueprint."
His eyes widened in surprise. "They're creating batteries?"
"Yes. The electricity mages can shape the metals like we do." Layla explained, "The hard part is finding the right metals, but the mining team procured them easily so they'll have them done by the end of the week."
"That's hardcore." Leon laughed in amazement.
She chuckled with a slight smile.
"It's pretty amazing. We'll have electricity, electric water, healing, and everything else we need.
While we won't have electronics and frivolous entertainment, everyone will have a higher standard of living than we used to. That's pretty remarkable."
Leon grinned and looked to the sky, silently asking the world if they heard her words. He panned his gaze around the excessively decadent bathhouse and grinned in satisfaction.
"Good work. The women will love it." He said with a nod before leading the women out of the bathhouse.
Layla walked back over to her belongings and looked at the yoga pants with a wry smile. She decided she'd wear them later to see what the hype was over.
She was a lesbian and into Minx and her style. So if the cat woman wore them, she would at least try them out. The only issue was knowing she'd like them and then facing Leon later.
Leon looked at the water tower and found Tanya, the blue humanoid water mage filling it with massive water balls.
The tower was extremely impressive. It was the size of a large house 500 feet in the sky. The architect mages were filled with insights for perfect weight distribution, so they made the round ball as large as possible since water scarcity wasn't an issue.
A large silver pipe went from the top to the bottom. Water fell from the top, filling all the pipes they had connected with high water pressure. When someone turned on a faucet, it simply released it.
While Layla and other water mages were filling it with magic, they built a pump that would carry in water from a reservoir. The water mages would fill the small lake once a month, and it'd carry the water to the top, keeping water going 24/7.
The drains would lead back to the reservoir through the filtration system that non-combat water mages were building. Soon water would flow to their small city 24/7 without input.
It was extremely satisfying.
"Let's go check up on the beds." Leon said to all his partners, whose eyes lit up with sparkles.
They walked to the [new] park, which was the center of the noble district of Harem City. It housed the bathhouse and food court, and the park was also the communal eating area.
It also had recreation, making it prime housing. Everyone that lived in the area was right in the action. That included Leon, who had a ridiculous living arrangement in the works.
When they got to the park, Leon laughed in amusement.
The god-sized mattresses could fit fifty people each, and there were ten. As a result, laying them all out took up half of the park!
Leon couldn't help but chuckle at how decadent they were. They had full canopies and curtains around them, making them look like tents fit for war gods instead of normal beds.
Every bed came with red silk sheets and fifty white silk pillows, making them look like emperor-grade opium dens.
That description only described one.
One.
One bed.
Ten back-to-back made the entire park look like a comfortable mansion meets a jumping castle.
The electricity mages were busy stringing lights over the tops of them in anticipation of the party, and general haremites were tying the curtains temporarily to make one massive bed for the first part of the event.
Leon walked around and saw a strange bed different from the rest. It was only a foot off the ground and had black sheets. It wasn't something that he won for the slumber party.
"What's this?" He asked in confusion.
Regina, the Mexican woman, working on electricity, called out.
"That's Manka's bed." She giggled.
Leon's eyes widened in bewilderment, and he grinned. "How did this come about? Do you know?"
"Manka's too large for the normal beds. However, the gods found the idea of the Lambia joining the slumber party excessively amusing. So Loki sent her a bed." Regina giggled.
He laughed in amusement. Loki triggered his road to power by giving him an NFT, claiming it was harmless. As a result, Anya tried killing him, he won an event, and the gods created the Sanctuary event for [him].
"I should thank that guy." Leon laughed, "Thanks, Regina!"
"No problem! See ya at the slumber party!" She said with a wave.
Leon grinned and walked with his partners to the new food kitchens.
Like the bathhouse, the group renovated an entire strip of stores into one massive kitchen.
One of the major benefits of having a broken-down city was that land and rent were free. As a result, a single store that once cost $50,000 a month to rent was now free-ninety-nine.
Leon chuckled, thinking that the group took $200,000 a month worth of real estate and made it into a mega kitchen. He walked through the doors to see what it was like.
"Pretty!" Tricksie cried in excitement.
"Yeah, this is pretty fucking rad." Lindy grinned.
"I like~it!" Reina exclaimed with a quirky emphasis on the word it.
Caitlyn grabbed Leon's hand silently and led him around.
The kitchen's 200-foot wall was split into three sections. On the far left were twenty flat grills they could use for eggs, pancakes, steaks, and other types of meat.
In the center was a series of stove tops with ovens on the bottom.
On the right side were various steam ovens. They were large and could bake items in bulk.
Bakery ovens are different than normal convection ovens. Many use steam to make bread, and other baked goods remain soft during baking. With the ovens, they could make five thousand loaves of bread a day or any other type of baked goods.
There were two large mixers on the wall and three large fryers.
This excessively expensive equipment was courtesy of the ten thousand bakers and restaurant owners in Old Lemmox who died for their cause.
Leon turned around and looked in the center of the room.
There were a dozen islands that had sinks and cutting boards. Above them, there were hundreds of pots, pans, and space to hold equipment in cupboards.
The electricians and architects prioritized most of their time on the lavish stainless steel and wood kitchen, as it was the most important aspect of living.
"Traxie!" Mindy cried while jumping into Leon's arms and rubbing her fluffy white cat ears on him. Leon didn't like people touching him unless they were in his harem. However, the small cat woman learned that if she offered her ears first, then he didn't complain.
"Hey, Mindy." Leon replied with a gentle smile.
"Woah, woah, woah-woah-woah!" The pink-haired cat woman cried, "Minx! What... happened to you? Did this jerk force you to dress up!?"
Leon closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Image phobia.
"No. I... had a lot of fun today." Minx replied in shame, averting her gaze.
"Noooooo waaaaaay!" Mindy cried in excitement, "Traxie! We need to do all the shopping together. Shopping for days!"
Leon's eyes glazed over as images of the stores he left flashed before his eyes.
"Harem City can't survive another shopping trip." He replied.
Mindy pouted, folding her arms, turning away, and closing one eye. "Then you're doing something else fun with me!"
Leon looked at her with narrowed eyes. She was getting far bolder and more demanding by the day, making him wonder what her true personality was like.
He was sensitive to the hidden parts of women because his power exposed them in the most extreme way possible.
"Okay. I'll do something with you." Leon said with a gentle smile. On the inside, he was testing her personality.
"Yay! It's a date!" Mindy cried while jumping back into his arms.
He raised his hands to prevent a flurry of attack notifications from raining down on Mindy.
"MINDY!" A woman cried, cooking on one of the grills, "You can't burn the place down when Leon shows up!"
Mindy's cat ears drooped. "Sorry, I gotta go!"
Leon followed her to the cooking area where pots and pans were going. "First, what's on the menu?"
Her eyes widened in surprise and happiness that he followed her.
"We're following your directive to showcase what Harem City, not the Sanctuary, has to offer." Mindy explained, "So we're using canned vegetables, broth, and condensed milk to make soup."
Leon closed his eyes and smelled the soup simmering in a massive pot on an oven top. "You'd never think that it was canned."
"Right? The cooking mages have a thousand substitutions that can create desired favors.
We're making soups and baked bread this morning using high-glutton bakery flour.
We have thousands of pounds of flour from bakeries, so we're making bread bowls."
His eyes widened in excitement, and he turned around to find a haremite taking out small loaves of sourdough bread and hollowing them.
"We're filling the center of the loaves with soup, taking the cut-out top, and closing it again. We're serving the inner bread on the side so people can dip it into the soup.
The flour has a shelf life of five months, so we can make it rain bread until the wheat grows. It's very convenient."
Leon smiled in satisfaction and ruffled her cat ears, making her purr in delight. "Thanks, Mindy."
"Anything for you, Traxie!" Mindy said with a bright smile before returning to cooking.
He walked out of the kitchens and looked into the park where permanent wooden tables were set up. It was the eating area that was available 24/7.
Leon laced his fingers and stretched his arms. "Well, let's have dinner and get this wild party started."

[A/N: This slumber party will be wild.]
