The twins looked speechless at this answer but decided to humor Nick and jumped as high as they could towards the water with their hands outstretched. To their surprise the moment their fingers touched the water gravity seemed to invert and they "fell" into the field. Those watching this looked surprised and interested in trying it themselves. Nick noticed that the twins were holding their breath and felt the need to remind them that they can in fact breath under water at the moment. "Wicked!" Fred said in a distorted way as the air left his lungs and they instead filled with water.-
"Bloody hell this feels strange!" George said clearly after the air in his lungs got swapped with water. Nick picked up the ball he made and threw it into the water and everyone watching seemed surprised to see it cut through the water without issue until it landed perfectly on the center piece of the field. The ball wasn't completely without drag or gravity so Nick merely threw it in just the right way to get it where he wanted it. The twins swam around for a bit to get used to it before more and more people showed up and entered the field.-
Once the positions for two teams were filled by people trying out Nick cut off the people entering the water while starting a mock game so everyone could get a real look at the game being played. The twins chose the left and right attacker positions on one of the teams and thanks to being the only players in good physical condition made menaces of themselves. Blitzball was a game that heavily relied on ones fitness after all so they held a large advantage over people who never worked out a day in their lives.-
Unlike Quidditch that heavily favored a single player the fairness of Blitzball quickly got the people showing up more and more interested in the game. Literally anyone could score in Blitzball regardless of position though goalies tended not to do that since they were needed to guard the goals. The first match ended after thirty minutes with the twins team obviously having won by a landslide. Even with the extra stamina given by the rings only the twins had the base stamina required to play a full game. Nick pulled everyone out of the field and had them swap with two teams that had formed while waiting.-
"Not going to lie mate that was the most fun we've had in ages , Quidditch is fun sure but this!" Fred paused to motion at the whole field over head. "This is way more to our tastes!" George finished while they both grinned like loons. "I thought so since you played the most physical positions on the Quidditch team. I am a bit worried about how out of shape everyone seems to be though as that game was way too one sided thanks to your advantage in fitness." Nick said honestly.-
"Aye , they made the rest of us look like a bunch of slugs with how well they handled the exercise." Seamus said bitterly from nearby. He had played the left defender on the team going against the twins and was a little worse for wear as a result. He had a few bruises from getting bulldozed by the twins but was otherwise fine. "Besides quidditch players I think most wizards are actually out of shape from overly relying on magic for everything , the new teams will need serious training to catch up it seems." Nick said with a sigh.-
He had expected something like this but had apparently underestimated how out of shape the average wizard was. "Yeah but at least we have the potions to make it easier. Need to settle who all is on the teams first though." Fred said seriously. "Aye some of these folk can't even swim proper." Seamus said while pointing at a older girl floundering in the water as she clearly had no clue what she was doing. "Before that we need to find out who will be the captains of the new teams and as much as it may suck people like wood fill those roles best." Nick said and the twins and Seamus groaned.-
Most good team captains were those that were responsible yet inspired loyalty in their team but the ratio of those two things differed from person to person. Oliver Wood was more responsible than friendly but still held the team together well enough but the issue was finding someone at least similar who wanted to captain a team. There were a few of course but all of the choices were less than optimal. A good example was Malfoy that fit the responsible description well enough but failed on the personality front.
