Chapter 163
Chapter 163
Chapter 163
In my opinion, saving Rosenheim should be our top priority.
The allied forces, led by the Ghiamut Empire in the Central Continent, will soon have to fight an army of 2 million magical beasts, with the elven troops in charge of recovery leaving and no Recovery Magic available. The front lines will be forced to retreat and they may be attacked all the way to the Imperial Capital.
Furthermore, the Demon King’s army has another 4 million reserve troops left as extra strength.
If the Imperial Capital falls, the next to be attacked will be the Latash Kingdom.
“I take it you’re not going to join the Central Continent’s frontlines.”
Everyone is looking at me, especially the Principal worried that I might change my mind.
“Yes. I can’t say it won’t be a problem, but I think I’ll send some recovery medicine for the soldiers fighting on the front lines in the northern part of the Central Continent.”
I take out 1 [Leaf of Life] to show it to everyone.
“They will take the elves’ place on the front lines. “
“Recovery medicine? If it’s recovery medicine, we have it on the front lines.”
The Principal was looking at the [Leaf of Life] curiously, so I handed it to him and he looked at it sullenly.
“1 of these can heal 1,000 soldiers within the range of 1 Academy training grounds.
“1,000 soldiers!? And that wide range!?”
(The Principal understands it’s importance after all.)
The Principal is astonished and looks again at the [Leaf of Life].
The Principal understood my status when I took the exam.
Apparently, the Principal’s own Talent includes the same appraisal skill as the Hero’s.
There was a reason why the Principal was taken aback by Allen’s words.
The Priest’s Recovery Magic has a wider recovery range as his level increases.
However, even at Recovery Magic Level 6, 30 meter radius is their limit.
Not even Kiel can cover that wide range.
Note that the amount of recovery depends on the Priest’s [Intelligence], so a Priest who has reached Level 60 can heal more health than a Leaf of Life.
“I have about 600,000 of these medicines, so if we can get them to the front lines, I think the front lines will last a little longer.”
(I actually have 650,000 though.)
“”600,000!!!””
I have spent about a year and a half since last summer creating 650,000 [Leaf of Life].
I was able to turn most of the magic stones into [Leaf of Life] with <Fast Summon>. E-rank magic stones are useful, so I have left some of them as magic stones.
I want these 600,000 [Leaf of Life] to be distributed to the front lines where the elven troops retreat from.
“Yes, look at the map. There are more than 50 major fortresses. However, if we just want to survive this battle, we only need to hold about 10 fortresses. The fortress the Hero defends will need less of this medicine. As I recall, it would take about eight days to get to the front lines from here using a Magic Ship.”
I explained.
This battle will be a total war that the Demon King’s army has been preparing for years.
If the Demon King’s army wants to destroy the Imperial Capital, their invasion route will be limited and the number of forts that we will need at a minimum will be about 10 at most. And if the Hero with the Mana Recovery Ring uses his Recovery Magic, the number of fortresses that need recovery medicine will be even less.
These 600,000 recovery medicines will be used in those other fortresses.
Considering the range of 1 recovery medicine, I don’t think that the consumption will reach 10,000 per day.
(It’s just a rough estimate.)
“But it’ll only last for 2 months.”
The Principal seems to understand what I am trying to say and confirmed that my explanation is correct.
If it would take at least 10 days for the Demon King’s army to attack, we can deliver the recovery medicine to the front lines in time.
“Yes. This battle will be a short one but a decisive one nonetheless. We must change the war situation in Rosenheim within 2 months, 3 months at the most.”
The recovery potion Allen gave me would only last for 2 months, 3 months at most.
In the meantime, we need to change the war situation.
If the top priority of the Demon King’s army’s current operational action is Rosenheim, then I think that changing the war situation in Rosenheim will force them to change their strategy for attacking the Central Continent as well.
The Hero will also be present in the Central Continent throughout the war. I don’t think the Demon King will continue the invasion if they fail in Rosenhiem.
(Well, there’s always the chance of me being wrong. It’s possible that attacking the Central Continent is their main goal, and that invasion of Rosenhiem is just a distraction. And then there’s the Empire’s move. The Empire won’t just wait to be destroyed after all.)
This is a war and is basically a two-palyer game. It is difficult to completely predict the strategy of the Demon King’s army, the enemy of humanity.
“Incidentally, has the Empire declared a state of emergency?”
In the Empire, the Emperor has the authority to declare a state of emergency.
If a state of emergency is declared, the obligation of conscription, which was previously reserved for the Nobility, will fall to the commoners and serfs as well.
Basically, they don’t issue it because it would cause dissatisfaction among the commoners and destabilize the country, but they do issue it when there is a crisis of national survival like this one. I learned this in my class at Academy.
I asked the Principal what the Empire’s response would be in such a situation.
“Well, Emperor Ghiamut has already declared a state of emergency.”
So, they must be rushing to reinforce their forces by all means, including reserves, veterans, recruits, and conscripts. However, it is not possible to send them to the front lines immediately, and it takes at least a month to prepare them, even if they are ready to fight immediately, such as reserves and veterans.
(After a month, the front lines will get stronger.)
“But how did you manage to get 600,000 of this recovery medicine? Is this also the power of the Summoner?”
The Principal questions how I have so much medicine. If these numbers and effects are true, then a Summoner will be able to change the course of the battle.
“No, this is not the power of a Summoner.”
“”Huh?””
Everyone present in the room raised their voice in doubt at my reply.
These [Leaf of Life] are made by me. My friends have used it numerous times and know that I can make them. I also just took it out from my <Inventory> in front of everyone.
“This is an Elven Elixir made by Rosenheim. The effect is much weaker than before, but it’s a potion that can be successfully mass-produced during the creation process.”
(If the Hero’s reaction is true, then the Elven Elixir is capable of recovering even lost limbs.)
“”… Elven Elixir?””
I remember Helmios the Hero misidentifying B-rank Grass’ [Blessing of the Earth] I used in my fight against him as Elven Elixir.
“Master Allen, this is definitely an Elven Elixir.”
“Lady Sophiarone?”
Sophie matches my story. Theodosir, a Royal and Principal of the Academy, has a look on his face that says, “What are you talking about?”
“We are to pretend that Rosenheim sent this Elven Elixir as an apology for withdrawing the elven troops, right, Master Allen?”
Sophie looks at me with the eyes of a student who has answered a question correctly.
“That’s right. This will somehow keep the Five Continents Alliance intact.”
The Demon King’s army has its goals for this move. Their top goal is the invasion of Rosenheim. And on top of that, they seem to want to break the Five Continents Alliance.
This will make it easier for them to invade other continents in the future.
We will use the Elven Elixir as support from Rosenheim. In this way, the Ghiamut Empire’s opinion of the elven troops who broke the agreement and fled before the enemy, even if it was to save their perilous homeland, would be greatly changed.
(Well, with the Demon King around, it’s probably best to keep the alliance intact.)
I believe that once the Demon King is gone, the Five Continents Alliance will change its form and become a series of small countries at the mercy of the hegemonic powers.
“But it’s wonderful! Saving Rosenheim, sending aid to the Ghiamut Empire, and trying to maintain the alliance.”
Sophie said what I want to do.
“No, this is just a response to what I’ve just heard about the situation. The reality is that we have an opponent, so the war situation will be different.”
First, I think the war situation will go in the right direction. This is because the Demon King’s army will probably attack on the premise that the Central Continent doesn’t have a way to heal their soldiers. That’s where the 600,000 recovery medicine comes in.
However, if they find out that we have a large amount of recovery medicine, they might change their mind. And if the resistance in Rosenheim is too fierce, they might change their plan to attack the Central Continent.
I am sure that not everything will work out.
(On top of that, we need to get insurance.)
I have a plan that he hasn’t told everyone yet.
“But it really helps.”
“I’m sure the Principal would provide a proper explanation.”
I ask the Principal to explain this matter to the higher ups in Rosenhiem.
“And then, Merle.”
“Uh-huh.”
I call out to Merle, who has been listless since earlier.
Merle will now be returning home by order of the Baukis Empire.
“I’m not changing my mind about going to the Baukis Empire in April.”
“What?”
“I’ll destroy the Demon King’s army as fast as I can and go to the S-class dungeon.”
“Uh-huh.”
I think that this battle will be a short but decisive one. When this ends, I want to go to the S-class dungeon in the Baukis Empire.
“So, since you will probably be sent into battle, I’ll give you some Elven Elixirs as well.”
Merle is a [Magic Rock General] and can control Mithril-grade Golems. She is likely to be sent out as a student soldier for emergencies.
By naming it Elven Elixir that Rosenheim gave me, I’m going to give her some [Mana Seed]s.
“Oh, thank you.”
What the northern part of the Central Continent needs is [Leaf of Life] to restore their health. However, what the Golem soldiers, who operate Golems need is mana, or [Mana Seed]s to be exact.
So, I am going to give her 1000 [Mana Seed]s. With this, she should be able to change the situation.
Merle thanked me, half-crying. She feels guilty about leaving the party here, as she had been dragging our feet in the dungeons for a long time.
“I’ll have to explain this situation to Nina properly.”
“Yes, you’re right. We’ll have to say our goodbyes at the base.”
I want to say a few words to Kiel’s family and servants at the base before going to the battlefield.
Thus, they proceeded to make preparations to head for Rosenheim.
