Chapter 556: Retiring announcement?
Chapter 556: Retiring announcement?
After helping Peromus complete the deal, Allen's group headed to the Gate of Judgement.
They always had to go through it to traverse realms, but their destination was the gate itself this time.
"Oh, they've already started."
"It looks that way, Cecile. There were no issues it seems."
(I'm glad they could bring it through without taking it apart.)
Only Cecile was there with him, as Sophie, Luck, and Formar were hunting Iron Golems, as their break days were over and it was time for them to Level Up in Extra Mode.
Allen's Army had multiple troops, but the one he made work the most was the Magic Engineer troops, led by Larappa. They would work on the magic devices obtained from the S Rank Dungeon and build whatever Allen requested.
[Allen's Army's troops]
-Human troops
-Beastmen troops
-Elven troops
-Dark elven troops
-Mermen troops
-Golem troops
-Magic Engineer troops
The Gate of Judgement was large enough for a Dragon King to pass through, and something big was being carried through it now. There Allen saw Larappa, who was leading those carrying an enormous magic ship.
The dragonkin priests and knights serving the Dragon King watched that nervously.
"Oh, Commandant. Could you lend us a hand? We could use some more men."
Larappa asked Allen, seemingly unconcerned by his position as her superior.
(I've been gathering information about divine orichalcum, and things seem to be going well here too. Or rather, I guess all the orichalcum I got so far is an imitation, so I'll just call it fake orichalcum.)
He clenched his fists in anger. He thought he had gotten the strongest material, only to find out that it was an imitation made by the God of Magic Isiris, annoying him to no end.
He felt like an idiot piling up orichalcum from the Gates of Trials.
"Hey, Allen. That thing is heavy."
The magic ship was hardly moving forward from the weight.
"...Right. Orochis, help them a little."
Cecile's words brought him back to reality.
'Yes.'
'Yes.'
Two Dragon A summons appeared on both sides of the magic ship, which moved their 5 heads below the ship to carry it forward.
"Are you sure this is alright to do? I really don't want to receive divine punishment for bringing something like this into the divine realm."
Cecile was a bit worried that Allen's antics would get her in trouble.
"I've already proven that magic devices work in the divine realm, so magic ships should be able to fly without issue too."
"That's not what I'm talking about though?"
There was a reason why he was bringing in that magic ship.
Raising his Divine Technique Skill Level would consume a large amount of Spirit Stones, which were not as numerous as Magic Stones.
If he had to use Spirit Stones to travel on the Sky Ship on top of that, then the Spirit Stones Abigayle gathered would run out in the blink of an eye.
So to properly travel in the divine realm, Allen brought that large magic ship.
"It's all in!"
"Yeah, it should be fine from here onwards."
The entire ship had passed through the gate, arriving at the clouds of the divine realm.
Allen touched the enormous ship, which had fully gotten out of the Gate of Judgement.
(Well, I don't necessarily have to touch it though.)
He activated his Bird A summon's Awakened Skill [Homing Instinct].
Everyone there, including Larappa and the magic ship, vanished and reappeared inside a large building.
"So this is the Heavenly King's palace. It's really big…I guess all kings like building big places."
Allen had brought them to the third floor of Rabul, to the king's palace.
The magic ship was in front of them, and a bit further away was the Sky Ship.
Larappa looked impressed by the building's size.
"Alright, we'll depart tomorrow. Relocate the Divine Wheel and test the reactor by then."
Allen's deadlines for the Magic Engineers were as strict as always.
"Got it. I'm also curious to see how the Sky Ship's engine works, can I look inside it?"
"Do as you please."
(Though I don't have permission from anyone. Though I'm the only one using the Sky Ship.)
As Allen looked at the magic ship he brought, many guards from the palace gathered.
"U-ummm, what are you doing here…"
Someone Allen recognized also stepped out of the Sky Ship and walked up to Allen.
"Oh, Piyon. I'll be using this ship to travel to the other Temples. These are some talented Magic Engineers from the human realm. I'd appreciate it if you could answer any question they have."
"O…kay?"
Allen introduced Piyon to the group. Allen wanted to transplant the Divine Wheel where the Divine Compasses went into the magic ship so he could travel through the divine realm.
It took some time for Piyon to process everything, but the guards soon walked away, so it seemed like everything was alright.
"Larappa, I'll bring some Okiyos here, you can use them if you need any help."
"Thanks."
He brought 10 Wraith A summons, which had high Intelligence and Attack, so they could help with heavy tasks without getting tired.
(Alright, I should start hunting Demigod Rank ghosts soon.)
Allen had no time to search for ghosts to hunt while he helped Muras undergo Talent Changes.
He had groups of Bird A and Wraith A summons searching for them in the divine realm.
Defeating one Demigod Rank ghost gave someone in Extra Mode 10 Levels, as well as Spirit Crystal Stones for the Divine Compass Lottery.
They still had not found Isiris' Divine Compass for Cecile after all.
On top of that, Formar could use Spirit Crystal Stones to make powerful arrows.
It was best to stock up on them so Formar could fight better in the future.
A whole day passed after that.
"I feel like we have to go as well."
Peromus and his wife were in Rabul's palace today.
(We still need money, thanks to all the taxes they put on us. But I'll fight back, this is war, an economic war!)
Allen needed money to complete the changes to the Academy's curriculum.
Prices were different in the divine realm, but making money there was not easy either.
Peromus was working under severe taxes when trading with merchants of the divine realm.
They needed to get Peromus to gain more abilities to trade better there.
Meanwhile Sophie and the others were hunting Iron Golems, which they would do until they reached Level 89. Then they could defeat one Demigod Rank ghost and max out their Level.
"Yeah, Peromus. At least that contract got signed. Now we can use the God of Trading Marne's Divine Compass that I pulled. We'll get you to Extra Mode."
"...Alright."
(He doesn't sound too excited. Did his motivation vanish now that he's married?!)
"Peromus of the Abandoned Gamers!"
Allen's voice changed suddenly.
"Huh? What's wrong, Allen?"
Allen firmly held onto Peromus' shoulders and stared straight into his eyes.
"You can't leave this party even if you get married, find a job, or go to university. Keep in mind you can never retire."
"What are you talking about? Retiring?"
Back when Allen was Kenichi in his past life, he would play many online games. He would form parties with other players the first days of service, but then as they got busy with life they would leave one after another, leaving him as the only one who still went online.
Peromus had worked for many years trying to marry Fiona, but now that his goal had been fulfilled, Allen worried Peromus would become less motivated.
So he had to get him motivated again, and not let him leave the party.
But his announcement was something everyone else in the party would have liked to hear.
"You never mentioned anything like that… You should've told us that before we joined."
Cecile had been part of the Abandoned Gamers party for a long time, but she had never heard of that. The party had started with 4 members, but there were more than 10 now.
Cecile was baffled that Allen never discussed the terms to leave the party until now.
"That sounds pretty crazy, Peromus. Let's just do our best."
"Right, let's do our best."
(Yes, do your best. You're lucky to have a supportive and understanding wife.)
Fiona managed to make Peromus appear less indecisive.
She also wanted to see Peromus become a successful merchant.
Now that Peromus was feeling better, they all went aboard the magic ship.
Larappa, her dwarves, and the pilot Piyon were there in the control room.
They were going over the controls before they departed.
The Divine Compasses would direct them at the Temples they were headed to.
The Temples where Gods lived were far away from each other, and changed locations.
Though even if they ran into a Temple randomly, they could need the Divine Compass to actually land there and enter.
Allen walked up to the Divine Wheel and took out a 30cm long rod that was the God of Trading Marne's Divine Compass, affixing it there.
"The Divine Compass seems to be working on this ship too."
Piyon made sure that it was working correctly, while the dwarves checked the other systems.
"It's all green! Turn the magic reactor on!!"
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
The dwarves turned the magic reactor on, which had been specifically built by Larappa to have a lot of power.
The magic ship began to vibrate as the reactor turned on.
The chains holding the magic ship still also came loose.
"Alright, it turned on without issue! Let's go!!"
Hearing that, the dwarves used some touchscreens to turn on the main engines.
The magic ship accelerated quickly, and inertia pulled everyone back.
(Woah, I can feel a lot of Gs.)
"That's an impressive speed. We should reach the God of Trading Marne's Temple in around 1 day like this."
Piyon checked the speed meter and sighed in relief seeing they were moving smoothly.
Allen's group was traveling to the God of Trading Marne's Temple at a speed that rivaled that of the Sky Ship built by the God of Magic Isiris.
