Chapter 272: You Will Be The Concern of My Life

“It’s lovely,” Yun Xiangxiang looked around at the interior design.

Part of the roof was made out of glass. Even while sitting inside, one could see the starlit sky in the house.

The interior was built mostly with concrete and was supported with a lot of wood. It displayed the natural feeling of wood and rock.

The interior space was occupied by rugs, carpets, and fabric furniture. It made the house warm and relaxing.

A transparent elevator connected every floor from the rooftop to the basement.

“Look around if you’re not tired. I’ll make dinner for you,” Song Mian stood up after helping her change into a pair of comfortable slippers.

Song Mian had never seen such a beautiful villa in her two lives of filming. It was different from the ancient-style Song Manor.

She trotted to the vast balcony and was greeted by the view of the sea. The large floor-to-ceiling window managed to capture all the beauty of the outside.

As she felt sleepy during the journey, she didn’t notice that a mountain was standing behind the villa. It was built halfway up the hill.

There was a big, beautiful garden in the downhill area. As she explored, she noticed that the most incredible part was the swimming pool.

The swimming pool on the first floor was a moat that surrounded the villa. There was also a roof that sheltered part of the pool.

Another rest area sported a huge floor-to-ceiling window, showing the magnificent view of the rock layers and the bay.

As she stood here, Yun Xiangxiang finally understood what the luxury was.

She was wealthy in her previous life, wealthy enough to buy a villa. But she only thought of it as a bigger house.

Now she knew that was just because she had never seen what true luxury was.

“Too over the top, I have to snap out of it,” Yun Xiangxiang shook her head before returning to the living room.

Song Mian had already served the delectable dishes. Song Qian and Song Yao were nowhere to be seen. Only the couple was left in the villa.

“How big is this place?” Yun Xiangxiang had to ask.

“Two thousand square meters. I guess,” Song Mian wasn’t sure. He didn’t have to go through the procedures of buying a home himself.

Yun Xiangxiang was speechless.

“Don’t you think it’s lonely just by the two of us?” Yun Xiangxiang asked weakly.

“Usually there would be maids cleaning up the place. Now that you’re here, I gave them a few days off,” Song Mian answered.

“You’re saying that the maids live here when you aren’t?” Yun Xiangxiang was stunned.

Song Mian gave her a look that said, “Yeah, why?”

Yun Xiangxiang lowered her head silently. She didn’t understand how the rich worked.

The owner didn’t even live in this great house. And he would have to pay the maids who were helping him clean it.

That would probably shock those who worked to their bone just to pay their mortgage.

When she lowered her head, Yun Xiangxiang’s attention shifted to the plate in front of her. Her eyes widened, “What is this?”

“Abalone and lobster. Why? Do you not like them?” Song Mian was nervous.

Song Mian had never investigated his girlfriend out of respect. He didn’t know whether she was allergic to seafood. She seemed fine the last time she had the Buddha’s Temptation. That dish had a bit of seafood in it.

But her reaction worried him. Song Mian just wanted to treat her to some local delicacies.

“I’m just shocked at their size!” Yun Xiangxiang was taken aback.

The abalone was bigger than her palm, and the lobster was as thick as her wrist! Just these alone would be enough to fill her up!

“The abalone here is the best of the best,” Song Mian breathed a sigh of relief. “They’re protected by the government. I planned to bring you to harvest them.”

El Dorado’s abalone was thick precisely because overharvesting was prohibited.

The abalone would stick themselves to the reefs along the sea. It was easy to harvest them when the tides were low, but the harvester must be licensed. Every time they harvest, they could only take the two biggest abalones.

This law restricted anyone from overharvesting for profits.

Yun Xiangxiang ate the abalone as she listened to Song Mian’s lecture. From the abalone harvesting alone, she felt that this country was different from what most people thought.

The abalone was a great ingredient. Or Song Mian was a great cook. Either way, it was delicious.

Song Mian gave his girlfriend his portion when he saw that she had finished. Yun Xiangxiang took it.

She was almost full after having two abalones. She could only take half of the lobster.

Yun Xiangxiang, who couldn’t have any more of it, gave Song Mian the remaining half. “You gave me your abalone. So I’m giving you my lobster.”

Song Mian didn’t expose his girlfriend, seeing as she looked so smug. He knew she gave him because she couldn’t eat anymore. He finished it for her.

Yun Xiangxiang did the dishes with Song Mian after they were done with their meal. They strolled around the house, hand in hand for about one hour...

It was already late after they were done with their stroll. Song Mian brought Yun Xiangxiang to her bedroom. There was a shower in there. “No one has lived in or used this room before.”

There were plant-based essential oils besides the bathtub to clear her fatigue. After she was done bathing, Yun Xiangxiang lay on the big, comfortable bed and went to sleep.

Yun Xiangxiang put on her swimsuit quickly after her morning workout was done. She swam two laps around the swimming pool, which hugged the house.

When she was done, Song Mian had already placed her breakfast in the pool’s resting area. He even covered her with a big, soft towel.

“I think I might slip into decadence if I stay with you for too long,” Yun Xiangxiang had her breakfast.

She didn’t need to do anything herself. She had even more freedom than the young miss in ancient times.

Song Mian wouldn’t remind her about postures or image. No rules were restricting her.

She came to celebrate her boyfriend’s birthday, but Yun Xiangxiang seemed to be the one who was enjoying it.

“I wouldn’t trap you in one place. You shall be the concern of my life,” Song Mian’s whisper was gentle and slow.

As the breeze from the hills which kissed the sea of flowers, it was endlessly gentle.

“You sweet talker. Look, you made my soy milk tasteless,” Yun Xiangxiang sipped a mouthful of warm soy milk Song Mian made.

“Want to taste how sweet my tongue is?” Song Mian put down his cutlery and edged closer with his face.

It was a sunny day. The sunlight sprinkled down on them, reflecting a golden light on the pool. From where Yun Xiangxiang looked, Song Mian seemed to be standing in the middle.

Some of the shining light fell upon his lips, granting it a golden allure. Yun Xiangxiang didn’t even think. She went up and kissed him tightly.

Song Mian was just teasing her as usual, but he didn’t expect her to take this seriously. He was stunned by her aggression, but only for a moment. He then clasped the back of her head and responded to her kiss.

His kiss lingered strongly on her. It was overbearing. Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t take it. She retreated under the offense of his kiss.

The towel Yun Xiangxiang had slipped to the ground. Song Mian’s warm palms touched her skin...
