Chapter 297: Strange Followers With Cameras
“You are also a kind person,” Yun Xiangxiang was impressed.
Chloe could ask Yun Xiangxiang out just for apologizing to her for something that wasn’t technically her fault. Chloe was different to Faye.
“I now understand why the man Faye likes chose you,” a smile swam in Chloe’s green eyes.
Yun Xiangxiang shook her head, “Love isn’t about the couple being excellent people. It’s about them being suitable for each other.”
Chloe might be praising Yun Xiangxiang as having a better personality than Faye did, but Yun Xiangxiang thought this had nothing to do with whom Song Mian chose.
Some influential people did not get the love of their life, while some who had nothing had a blissful family.
Having great looks would be a bonus during the selection phase, but those responsible in love wouldn’t indulge themselves in their partner’s superficiality.
If they did, the relationship wouldn’t last. Those who lived together until a ripe old age always had something much deeper than that.
“You’re right...’ Chloe trailed off. She looked melancholic.
Chloe must be thinking about something, but Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t going to pry. She didn’t have an intense curiosity to things unrelated to herself. Yun Xiangxiang pretended not to notice that.
Yun Xiangxiang talked to Chloe about Chinese culture. Chloe said she would go to China someday. They then spoke about the advertisement and the content for the promo video.
Exchanging opinions would make the shooting more comfortable.
They chatted for the whole afternoon. It wasn’t until He Wei called Yun Xiangxiang that she left. She didn’t forget to pack some desserts as she did.
“Qianqian, are those cars tailing us?” Yun Xiangxiang noticed it the moment Song Qian started driving.
Yun Xiangxiang had a great memory. The cars stopped outside the cafe not long after Yun Xiangxiang got there.
The cars stayed there for a whole afternoon, and yet the moment Yun Xiangxiang left, they followed her.
Song Qian found a place to stop the car. The cars following them were taken by surprise. One of them drove away, while the other found a spot to stop.
The moment the car stopped, Song Qian dashed forward. Noticing that Yun Xiangxiang had found out that they were tailing her, the car stopped following them.
“I remembered their number. I’ll look it up for you after we get back. Don’t you worry,” Song Qian calmed Yun Xiangxiang down once they returned to the hotel.
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t think Faye had the motive to do this. Faye wouldn’t kidnap her, or would she? This was too insane. Yun Xiangxiang didn’t do anything that warranted this kind of drastic measure from Faye.
Yun Xiangxiang was a public figure. She wasn’t someone who could go missing for a week and go unnoticed.
If Faye did this, she would be playing with fire. No matter how powerful she was, once she kidnapped Yun Xiangxiang, she would get burned.
“They’re Paris’ media outlets,” Song Qian quickly found out who the trailing cars belonged to.
“I don’t think I’m that popular, right? Why do they want to tail me?” Yun Xiangxiang laughed at herself.
These reporters were mere employees. Yun Xiangxiang didn’t have that much international clout to warrant the attention of foreign media.
Nobody would care about Yun Xiangxiang’s news. Following her would be a waste of time and resources. This begged the question. Why did they follow Yun Xiangxiang?
Faye didn’t have to do this either. She should have known who Yun Xiangxiang was. Faye should know Yun Xiangxiang would either only be filming or staying in the hotel. Song Mian wasn’t here either.
Besides, if Faye needed to arrange some reporters to tail Yun Xiangxiang, she shouldn’t get someone who could easily be detected like this.
If Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t understand it, so did Song Qian. They shrugged.
“Forget it. If I can’t understand it, then I won’t think about it. The answer will reveal itself eventually,” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want to dwell on this.
Over the next few days, Yun Xiangxiang would occasionally feel a pair of eyes on her. She felt weird, but she couldn’t stop them as long as they didn’t slander her. After all, she was a public figure.
As the reporters didn’t harass her too much, Yun Xiangxiang didn’t care about it.
Yun Xiangxiang had no filming to do this day. She stayed in the hotel for most of the day, finally going out for some fresh air.
She wanted to stroll around and get her eyesight back to top condition, but Song Meng’s call disrupted her plan.
“Xiangxiang, we are over our peak hour now. If you have nothing to do, come to our shop for some desserts.” Song Meng asked Yun Xiangxiang to come today, as she knew her friend had nothing to do. “I got a lot of your Chinese fans in Paris here. They want to see you.”
Is this a meet and greet session?
“They came here to spend every day. I can’t refuse them...” Song Meng lowered her voice and added.
They knew Song Meng was the fan club’s president. As foreign nations were not big on fans meeting their idols at their workplace, they couldn’t go to where Yun Xiangxiang was filming. But they wanted to see her.
They went to where Song Meng was working, spending their money there every day, hoping they could meet Yun Xiangxiang.
It had been three weeks since Song Meng started working. Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t refuse, seeing as the fans had held on this long.
She could refuse if she had work. But now that she didn’t, she could go there to grant their wish. And she could stop them from spending senselessly.
The desserts in the shop where Song Meng worked were not cheap.
Yun Xiangxiang informed He Wei about it before bringing Song Qian and Ai Li to the bakery.
Her fans screamed when they saw Yun Xiangxiang arrive. “Xiangxiang! Xiangxiang! I love you!” Some fans rushed over.
When a few of them ran over, the other fans followed suit. Before Yun Xiangxiang could enter the door, she was surrounded by her fans.
There were about thirty to forty raving fans around her. All wanted her signature and the wrist ropes she gave out to her fans.
“I have some wrist roped here.” Yun Xiangxiang had some leftovers. She grabbed some before she came. She wondered if it was enough. “Let’s go inside first. I’ll treat you guys to some desserts. But for the sake of my wallet, please don’t call your friends over.”
She was worried that more people would swarm this place if they knew. They could cause a safety hazard.
Those who were going to call their friends put down their phone and excitedly followed Yun Xiangxiang inside the bakery
“Wow, so this is your superstar friend?” The manager was astonished. “What a gorgeous lady. Do I have the honor to treat you and your fans to my desserts?”
The manager knew these people spent so much money to meet Yun Xiangxiang. The manager knew Yun Xiangxiang had a significant influence on Chinese teens. The manager was confident that these would be returning customers, so he made a generous offer.
“Thank you for the offer, sir, but I want to treat my fans today,” Yun Xiangxiang declined politely.
“A shame. I’m a bit embarrassed to ask for a wefie now,” the manager put on a sad look.
Yun Xiangxiang was fond of those nice foreign elderly who had a sense of humor. “I can take a wefie with you.”
