Chapter 326: It’s Time to Duel!
“What about Faye?” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t care about her after she escaped.
If Faye’s grandfather sought them out, that meant Faye was safe.
“We’re going through the legal procedure, but the verdict is yet to be passed. Not to mention her grandfather’s interference, so even though she’s still under trial, nobody can lock her up.” Song Mian explained honestly.
He didn’t press the courts because he didn’t want to interfere with the legal procedure, and he wanted Yun Xiangxiang to take it slow.
Had he pressed the court sooner, that old git would have come for Yun Xiangxiang a lot sooner. Now that business was done, it was time to settle some personal scores.
It wasn’t until the next day that Yun Xiangxiang understood why Song Mian made today the day of visit; she saw Song Mian’s father.
“Uncle Song...” Yun Xiangxiang apologized. She didn’t think Song Chi would have to fly all the way to France just for her matter.
“Don’t be, silly girl. If I’m not going to back my children up when they got harmed, who else would?” Song Chi looked at Song Mian quietly. “Besides, this thing happened because of the Song Family, so there is no reason you should have suffered.”
“Don’t say that, Uncle Song. This isn’t Ah Mian’s fault.” Yun Xiangxiang quickly defended Song Mian.
She was unlucky to have come across someone like Faye; it wasn’t like she could stop any girl from liking an excellent man like Song Mian.
If the person who liked her man went crazy, she couldn’t blame it on Song Mian; she couldn’t say that Song Mian was a trouble magnet.
Yun Xiangxiang witnessed a lot of insane individuals in the entertainment industry. Faye just also happened to be rich.
“If you ask me, it’s because you’re not his wife yet.” Song Chi suddenly changed the topic. “Why don’t you two just register as husband and wife? I would like to see who has the guts to touch my daughter-in-law.”
Yun Xiangxiang was helpless.
Mr. Song, didn’t you say you love me more? So it was fake; you love Song Mian more after all...
Yun Xiangxiang gave Song Mian a furtive look, signaling him to stop Song Chi from talking. Song Mian refused, and he gazed at her with sparkling eyes.
She pinched Song Mian and smiled at Song Chi. “Uncle Song, I’m barely legal...”
“Just register here in France. They don’t need you to be twenty here.” Song Chi thought this was easy to settle.
“Uncle Song, my father is a more traditional man, so he wouldn’t let me marry overseas.” She wasn’t trying to shift it to her father, but Yun Zhibin was that kind of person. He would never allow this.
“That’s fine. Go to Hong Kong then,” Song Chi suggested.
Yun Xiangxiang had never read much about Hong Kong laws, nor did she know the legal age of marriage there. She looked at Li Xiangling.
“If you’re at least sixteen, but under twenty-one, you can register as husband and wife in Hong Kong if the parents of both sides agree,” Li Xianglina answered.
So that’s the case. Yun Xiangxiang kept smiling. “Uncle Song, it’s not easy for my father to raise me...”
She could only block it with her family. It would be disastrous if Yun Zhibin found out that she and Song Mian would register as husband and wife in Hong Kong just a few months after discovering Song Mian’s existence.
Yun Zhibin would have a heart attack.
Song Chi didn’t say anything about this. He was a father, so he knew how a father would feel. “Then, let’s wait for a couple more years.”
Yun Xiangxiang breathed a sigh of relief. She knew Song Mian was nice to her, and Song Chi loved her like a daughter.
He came to France just for her. If she had no family like Hua Xiangrong didn’t, she wouldn’t mind registering with Song Mian at this age; she wouldn’t mind if it were in a foreign country or Hong Kong.
But Yun Zhibin and Su Xiuling loved their daughter. She had also promised the original soul of the body to take care of her parents.
Yun Zhibin might not marry her off even if she was twenty, let alone if she was eighteen. She had to care about their feelings.
After entering the house, Song Chi saw Yun Xiangxiang’s friends. He still remembered them, so he talked with them for a while. Song Chi went on to ask about Qi Jun’s grandparents.
“Why do I feel like Uncle Song is on the same seniority [1] as Qi Jun’s grandparents?” Yun Xiangxiang whispered to Song Mian.
“You heard it right. I’m one rank higher than Ah Jun in seniority.” Song Mian nodded.
Yun Xiangxiang nodded and muttered, “Why did you call Uncle Song here? It’s quite overkill, don’t you think?”
“I didn’t ask him to come here; he came here himself.” Song Mian could have settled this himself, but he couldn’t stop Song Chi since his father insisted on coming.
“It might seem disrespectful if it’s me who’s talking to Eric’s father. Father would be a better person to reason with him.”
“Reason with him...” Yun Xiangxiang remembered that Song Chi’s ‘reason with someone’ was different from what she understood.
When Yun Xiangxiang and Song Mian went to Eric’s house, Eric and his father didn’t expect Song Chi to come himself.
The moment he saw Song Chi, Eric’s father knew this wasn’t as simple as he thought.
They underestimated Yun Xiangxiang’s status in the Song Family. Song Mian’s love wasn’t the only thing going for her; she even had Song Chi’s acknowledgment.
He wanted to pressure Song Mian to let this go with the ‘big picture’ reason, but he knew it was impossible when Song Chi appeared.
Song Chi came to visit Eric’s father himself. He wanted to let them know Yun Xiangxiang’s status.
He didn’t want this kind of thing to happen again. Song Mian didn’t stop Song Chi from coming precisely because he wanted to end this once and for all.
“Jeffery, it’s been a while. I think we need to reason among ourselves.”
This was the first time Yun Xiangxiang saw Song Chi being like this. He was as gentle and elegant as usual, and he was speaking in standard French. Song Chi sounded like a kind, middle-aged man.
But when he stood in front of Jeffrey, who was a head taller than he was, he made Jeffrey look aged.
Nobody knew what Song Chi and Jeffrey talked about since they spoke alone in a room.
About half an hour later, Song Chi stepped out, looking relaxed. Jeffrey followed behind him, but he looked defeated.
Even so, they still sent Song Chi away politely. But when they passed through the garden, Faye suddenly rushed over.
“Yun Xiangxiang, I want to duel you. Do you dare take this duel?”
Fei Yi stood in front of her, her eyes filled with obsession and insanity.
“If you had come up to me like this before all of this happened, I would have admired you.” Yun Xiangxiang walked out front behind Song Mian, who was keeping her away from Faye.
“But now that you’ve clearly lost, do you think you have the right to duel me?”
“You don’t have the guts to take the duel?” Faye couldn’t hear what Yun Xiangxiang was saying.
She had always been like this; Faye only cared about the results she wanted. The only thing she cared about now was whether Yun Xiangxiang would take the duel.
“If I win, will you go to jail and serve your time?” Yun Xiangxiang asked. “Will you never find trouble with me again?”
“Yes.” Faye answered without any hesitation.
“Fine, then I accept the duel.” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t hesitate either. “You don’t even have an inch of decency in my eyes, but I am still willing to believe that you would at least uphold your promise.
If Yun Xiangxiang didn’t crush the fake superiority and confidence of a madwoman like Faye, Faye would think she hadn’t lost and would cook up some nefarious schemes to come after her.
There were a lot of different people in jail; some of them evil. Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want Faye to get these people to come after her, so she would end this fight herself.
