Chapter 47 47. Xander Caldwell
Chapter 47 47. Xander Caldwell
?
The first thing that made this obvious was the countless training weapons lining the walls.
Swords and Spears were the most common type of weapon but there was still an abundance of all sorts of weapons.
Sabers, shields, halberds, hammers. You name it; it was there.
The weapons were training weapons so they were naturally all wooden weapons but by looming closer you could see that several of the wooden weapons had different eights towards them marked above their head.
The purpose of this didn't even need to be said. The difficulty of wielding a sword that wielded 10kgs and 100kgs was obvious to anybody.
Besides all sorts of training weapons, you could see all sorts of training equipment in the place.
Looking at it like this, it wasn't too dissimilar from a modern day gym.
There were all sorts of free weights and bench presses spaced out in an orderly fashion.
Whilst there were no such things as treadmills or the elaborate lifting machines of the modern day, the presence of accurate weights was still a pleasant surprise for Lucius.
Lucius was impressed with the facilities for the current mediaeval time period and he knew that this wasn't the limit of The Sanctuary's facilities.
They still had a few almost magical facilities that could be used to test and train things like agility and endurance and they even had special gravity training rooms.
Unfortunately, those rooms were all exclusive to the senior years and it would be extremely hard for the juniors to enter them to train.
Even if he could enter those rooms, Lucius wouldn't dare train in them just yet. His body, whilst having made great progress from his initial state, he was still a few paces behind in being able to train in the gravity room freely.
Seeing the orderly gym, Lucius's hands became a little itchy and wanted to try out the place.
Taking off his uniform coat, Lucius walked up to the weapon stand and didn't pick anything too outlandish, he just picked up a regular wooden sword of regular weight and walked to the open space near one of the wooden puppets.
Feeling the sword in his palm Lucius, twirled it around a little hit before completing a basic set of military swordsmanship.
The swordsmanship he had practised by now wasn't anything too refined and could be broken down into three simple stages
Vertical Slash, Pierce and horizontal cut.
The few weeks he had spent with Uncle Albert were spent drilling those moves down. In addition to this, whilst he hadn't been able to inherit the talent of the original Lucius he had managed to get the body so the original muscle memory was still there.
After recovering his body he found that it became increasingly easier to complete the sword moves he learned.
Whilst this didn't make him a genius by any means he was still ahead of the levels of a basic novice.
The past few days Lucius had to admit that he had been slacking on his word training, so with a nice facility like this Lucius didn't hold back and began training in full earnest.
The feeling of slashing a sword was still completely novel to Lucius even after several weeks had passed.
After all, in his last life, unless you were invested in specific hobbies, the chance to swing a sword was hard to come by.
Lucius didn't pay attention to the time and enjoyed the sensation of his word cutting through the air as minutes tired to hours and sweat began to pile on his forehead.
Just as Lucius walked towards the side to get a towel and wipe off his sweat he suddenly heard a commotion at the gym door.
Looking over Lucius could see a rather large group of students walking inside chatting happily.
As the only person in the gym and one that had obviously been sweating it was easy for Lucius to catch the attention of the group so they just paused for a while and whispered quietly as they took a second to look at the handsome young man with piercing red eyes.
As the group was looking at Lucius, he was also watching them.
Lucius didn't have much of a change on his face and just looked them up and down.
From his initial assessment, he quickly got an understanding of the group.
Easily the group seemed like a group of friends, on closer look you could see that they were all gathered around one man and all even slightly walking behind this one man.
It wasn't a group of friends as it was a group of lackeys
Looking at the leading man, he quickly came to understand why this was so.
It was a rather handsome man around the same age as Lucius. He had short turquoise-green hair and even greener eyes. The man had a slight smile on his face, but he couldn't hide the pride and arrogance radiating from his brows.
The face and description easily aligned with the description he had revived from Camilla's notes yesterday
Xander Caldwell.
Lucius looked at this guy and the group of lackeys around him and tried to remember the reason this guy has so many people around him in the first place.
'Caldwell… Caldwell.. Isn't this guy the son of Count?'
The relevant information quickly came flowing into Lucius's mind and he soon understood it all.
This guy was definitely a golden spoon and on top of that, he wasn't some waste golden spoon but a talented one.
Even in a massive place like the empire, the status of Count was still quite rare.
It could be said that even if Xander don't do much in life, and just stay around and leached of his father's money, as the oldest son of the Count he was destined to inherit the title and as such destined to one day become a big man.
To make matters even better, this guy actually had a golden grade talent
