Chapter 220 - Everyone's Dead
Chapter 220 - Everyone's Dead
"When you really needed money for your mother's medication, it was Aiden who helped you. In fact, he brought in doctors from abroad for your mother. When your father and step sister bullied you, it was Aiden who stood up for you. If Aiden weren't there, you would never be able to launch your perfume. You might have been jailed for stealing Esther's perfume recipe." Tara recalled everything Aiden did for Anya.
Anya's eyes feel hot. She also remembered all Aiden's kindness to her. How could she forget it after all that Aiden had done for her?
??She was not a heartless person. She still had a conscience…
"It's not easy for my mother to raise me up to now. I can't make her sad," Anya whispered.
"So, you don't want to make your mother sad by hurting Aiden's heart?" Tara said irritably. "This time, I'm defending Aiden, you selfish woman! You don't want to get involved in the Atmajaya Family feud over your mother's feelings. But have you ever thought about Aiden's feelings?"
Anya's tears could no longer be contained, so they fell freely. "I also feel bad. I know Aiden has everything, wealth and power. But he will also be hurt because of my behavior. However, what can I do? My mom fell into a coma again because of me, because I married Aiden. I can't see my mother like this anymore…"
Seeing Anya crying, Tara felt a little sorry and tried to comfort her. "Your mother is angry because she misunderstood. She thought Aiden was Imel's son. She is afraid that you will suffer like her. If your mother knew that Aiden was good to you, how could she possibly let her daughter divorce? All parents want their children to be happy."
"Tara, I'm not a good girl. I always make my mom worry. I'm really lucky that Aiden is nice to me. Otherwise, I might have lost my mother's garden. I'm not a good wife. In this relationship, I can only receive without being able to give. I can't do anything for him," Anya's throat tightened as she said, "But I also don't want to make my mother sad. I only have her and she only has me…"
"So, you want to make Aiden sad? Knowing that he and Ivan will fight sooner or later, you decide to leave as soon as possible?" Tara no longer held back. She didn't care if Anya was offended by her words. She just wanted Anya to realize that Aiden was the best man for her.
"Tara, what should I do?" Anya's brain felt chaotic. She couldn't think clearly.
Her brain seemed to tell her to obey her mother's words, but her heart still belonged to Aiden…
Which one should she choose?
"Madame, something happened in Madame's garden!" Suddenly, Harris's voice sounded from the front door.
Anya was shocked to death. Was it because she asked for a divorce, Aiden immediately ordered someone to level the garden?
She didn't have time to think. She immediately opened the door and ran outside, "What's wrong?"
"Just now a landscaper called and said that Madame's vanilla plants were all dead," Harris said.
When she heard this, Anya's body trembled. She could not stand up straight. "Harris ... Don't scare me."
The vanilla was the seed she and her mother planted for three years. They tried to grow it themselves for years but to no avail. And this year, the vanilla would grow.
How could they suddenly die?
"Madame, you better go to the park," Harris said frantically.
If the vanilla died, Anya would be better off just dying too!
Anya didn't dare delay. She went straight downstairs and ran to the front door.
"Get in the car quickly." Aiden said as he opened the door.
Anya looked at her electric bicycle and bit her lip hesitantly. Then she said, "Sister Maria is still at home. I better go alone."
"Nico and Tara will accompany her. I'll accompany you to the park." Aiden held out his hand.
Finally, Anya welcomed the helping hand and sat down beside Aiden.
The atmosphere in the car was very tense. Anya's body trembled slightly. She was really panicked and scared.
Aiden gripped her hand gently and comforted her. "I've contacted agricultural experts to find out if there is a way to save the vanilla."
"I worked hard with my mother to grow the vanilla for three years. This year, the plants should finally produce. I really can't lose this vanilla," Anya unconsciously grabbed Aiden's hand tighter and her voice trembled.
Aiden frowned. He didn't like seeing Anya scared like this. He would do whatever it took to make Anya happy.
"Don't be afraid. Everything will be fine," he said.
After arriving at the park, Anya saw all the garden lights lit up.
"Ma'am..." one of the employees saw Anya's arrival and immediately approached.
Anya's heart felt tight. "What's the problem?"
The two employees were the people Harris directly selected for Anya. They were responsible for caring for vanilla and various other flowers.
Seeing all the plants growing, the two of them were also happy, like watching the development of their own child.
"The vanilla will die," one of the employees' eyes turned red and a tear escaped from there.
"The vanilla is fully grown and almost blooming. Why are they suddenly like this?" Anya couldn't believe all this. She immediately ran to the park.
Anya saw all the leaves turning yellow and the vanilla looked wilted. She felt her gaze suddenly darken.
Aiden immediately supported Anya's body from behind. He embraced her, making sure that his wife was alright. "Anya, are you okay?"
"Aiden… The vanilla is dead. My mother and I worked hard for three years. Why did everyone die?" Tears uncontrollably fell one by one from Anya's eyes.
The two of her employees lowered their heads, looking very guilty and apologizing right away. "Ma'am, please excuse us. We can't take care of the vanilla very well."
"Do you know what happened?" Aiden's sharp eyes looked at the two people.
Anya could only stare at her vanilla which looked wilted and felt her whole body stiffen. She took a shaky step forward to one of the plants and looked at it carefully. "Did you fertilize or water it?"
"Could it be too much water?" one of the employees looked at Anya with fear and caution. His eyes were still red and he looked as hurt as Anya when he saw the plants he was taking care of were all dying.
"This morning, we prepared water with nutrients to water the plants. Who knows, that the vanilla leaves turned yellow overnight," whispered one of the employees.
"Is there any water left?" asked Aiden.
"All the water is gone, but the watering place is still there and has not been cleaned," he replied.
Harris immediately checked it and sent his photo to the expert Aiden had contacted.
"He said, there is most likely a mixture of herbicides. But it is still not known what type of herbicide was used so it will take time to check," said Harris after confirming this incident with experts.
"Herbicide?" The employee was shocked. "We prepare the nutritional water ourselves and we know very well that we cannot use herbicides on this vanilla plant."
Anya's heart ached as if it was gripped tightly but she was speechless.
"Are all plants watered with this herbicide?" She said shakily.
The employee shook his head. "Not all of them, only a few are poured with the water. The water had just been used in the morning, but at night, we suspected something was strange. We thought the water was too much that it made the plants wither. But we never thought that there were herbicides. We didn't do it."
"I'm sure you didn't do it," Anya calmly said.
The two employees looked at each other and one of them asked, "Ma'am, do you mean someone else did it besides us?"
"Too bad there is no CCTV in this park. Even if someone else came, we wouldn't know who did it." Anya said gloomily.
"I installed CCTV right in front of the garden gate," Aiden calmly said.
