Hidden Wife : Best Husband

Chapter 1 - 1 - Late

Chapter 1 - 1 - Late

The alarm rang repeatedly, but Soo Yin still didn't hear it. Until the tenth rang, she finally woke up.

She tried to take her cell phone while rubbing her eyes with one hand. When she dimly looked at the clock, the girl immediately widened her eyes.

"Damn, I'm late again today!" Soo Yin swore. She immediately rushed out of her bed and went to the bathroom. She let the bed conditions as it is, very messy.

There's no time to wash up. She only washed her face then rummaged through the wardrobe to find her working uniform.

She panicked and was in a hurry at this time. She felt very sure that later, she would get into trouble.

The Silla Seoul Hotel

Soo Yin ran. She was catching her breath after getting out of the taxi she was driving. Today she must be late for work due to waking up late.

She worked at a five-star hotel located in Seoul, South Korea. Her job was only as a housekeeper or cleaner. Her job was to clean the guests' room in the hotel.

She's just a high school graduate. Currently, she is 18 years old. She worked at the hotel because of the mercy of her husband, who owned the hotel.

Soo Yin went to the hotel's lobby to fill out today's attendance list. When she was writing, she didn't realise that a man was standing behind her. The man was Manager Han, who was getting ready to scold her.

"Hmmm." Manager Han's voice echoed in Soo Yin's ears. She looked back at the source of the sound.

"How dare you come at this time! Do you think it's your family house, so you can come here as you want?!" Manager Han shouted.

"Sorry, Sir." Soo Yin just bowed,  scared to see Manager Han's face.

'Ah, If you know that I'm Dae Hyun's wife, do you still dare to scold me?' Soo Yin cursed in her mind.

But, she realised that she was just an undesirable wife.

"How many times have you been late to work this month?" Manager Han asked with a high voice. Luckily, the hotel's guests rarely went out of their room at this time.

"What happened?" asked the man who arrived just now. He was Dae Hyun, the hotel's owner.

"Sorry, Sir. This girl always comes late," said Han while pointing his hand at Soo Yin, the girl who was still bowing, lowering her face.

"Never mind, just let it go! Just tell her to see me later," said Dae Hyun. He massaged his forehead, feeling dizzy at the commotion.

"Yes, Sir," Han replied and lowered his head politely.

Dae Hyun quickly glanced at Soo Yin when he walked past her. He wanted to say something, but then he cancelled his intention. He chose to go straight to his office.

"Did you hear what Mr Dae Hyun said? Prepare to get the sack soon," said Han, then left the girl who was still standing.

Even though she felt irritated because this morning she had trouble with Manajer Han, Soo Yin could finally take a deep breath after the two people left.

She went straight to the pantry, where she used to put her luggage. Soo Yin took one glass of water then gulped it down. She also held her stomach, which felt sore because she didn't have time to eat breakfast.

Never mind breakfast. She didn't even have time to take a shower! She just sprayed a lot of perfume before leaving.

"Did you come late again?" asked a girl named Jean. This girl was half Korean, half German.

Soo Yin just took a deep breath while putting the glass back on the table.

"As soon as I came home from work, I went to the hospital last night to see my father," said Soo Yin while looking down with a sad face.

Her father suffered from heart disease, so he had to be hospitalised. Currently, she only has her father.

"Did anything change?" asked Jean. She sat in front of Soo Yin.

Soo Yin shook her head slowly. She clenched her fists until her nails pierced her palms. She really wanted to finish off her stepmother every time she remembered what she had done to her family.

Because their stepmother had debts, in the end, their business went bankrupt until her father had a heart attack.

"Well, let's get to work! Don't let Manager Han see us," said Jean.

"I have to go to Mr Dae Hyun's room first," said Soo Yin.

Soo Yin felt unmotivated to hurry and go to Dae Hyun's room. She felt really reluctant to meet that man.

The man who had married her but didn't consider her a wife at all. Even though they have been married for three months, actually, she was also reluctant to work at Dae Hyun's hotel.

It's just because her family was poor, and her father's bad condition required the girl to work hard.

Soo Yin took a deep breath while standing in front of Dae Hyun's room. She stood in front of the door for a few seconds. The girl repeatedly raised her hand to knock on the door, but she lowered it again.

Knock...knock...knock.

Finally, Soo Yin took the risk to knock on the door. She was reluctant to be there any longer.

"Enter!" Dae Hyun exclaimed from inside the room.

Soo Yin rushed into Dae Hyun's study then closed the door.

"Why do you call me?" said Soo Yin indifferently. She always acted cool in front of Dae Hyun. Never once she acted sweet.

She thought there was no need to be nice to a man who had made herself a mistress.

Luckily, she was not a very wealthy girl, so there was no need to reveal their secret to the public.

Dae Hyun stared at the girl, who was currently right in front of him. He stared into her brownish-black eyes. Snow white skin and long hair tied up into a ponytail. There was a sense of guilt when he looked at the girl.

Soo Yin looked away when Dae Hyun looked at her.

"Take it!" Dae Hyun said while handing a paper to Soo Yin. The paper contained a check for cash.
