Chapter 13 The Player Killer
Chapter 13 The Player Killer
"I am just having a bad day. I am just having a bad day. I am just having a bad day." A man with bright blue hair and worried green eyes was hurriedly running through the Fairy king's forest.
He kept muttering the same thing under his breath over and over again but with time, his words sounded like a lie to him.
This man was Ninja's avatar as he ran through the forest in order to get away from the beast which was slaughtering the players on the leader board.
The streamer had left all of his allies behind to prevent his avatar from killing him. He had managed to slip away while his allies were getting slaughtered.
He was now on his way to the center of the forest.
'I am glad I am not streaming this.' Ninja had never been more glad that he wasn't streaming a game. All of his chat would be full of people calling him a coward and the image he worked hard to build would be ruined.
But Ninja cared more about money than he did about his allies. They had only met recently so there was no problem.
Ninja had originally planned to attack Lin Fan, the number player, with a small squadron of players and make one of them deal the killing blow. This would increase their infamy while Ninja would still be safe.
And after that, he would take some of the best items from the number one player and leave the place.
But his entire plain had been ruined when a shadow-covered figure had dropped down from the sky and had started killing his allies using the dark element.
The figure was none other than the rank 2 player, Elyon, who had been ranked three at the time of his attacks. His exp was rising with every attack and after killing three people, he moved towards the second place.
"He is definitely a cheater. There is no way that a player can kill so many other players while using a rare-ranked sword. I should send a message to the game developers regarding this." Ninja muttered as his grip on the hilt of his sword tightened.
After the sudden ambush, he was acting jumpy and knew that there was a chance that he would be attacked again.
And he was correct.
"Those who walk on the path of darkness are overseen by a single person. But no matter what, Death takes it all in the end. Death's claw." A voice resounded behind Ninja as he whirled around.
The streamer didn't even have time to say 'Oh shit' before a dark black claw suddenly pierced his stomach.
The claw immediately swallowed him inside and nothing was left behind. A few seconds later, a shadow-covered figure walked out in the open.
The figure was none other than Elyon.
He looked around the place for a few seconds before silently moving towards the center of the forest again.
If Zack had seen the skill Elyon had used, he would definitely be on maximum alert.
Death's claw was a skill that could either completely destroy the enemy or bless them with tons of stuff. It was a dual-edged sword that took a lot of guts to use.
But if the opponent was unlucky, the skill would swallow him.
However, the full details of the skill were unknown so except for those who had the skill, no one knew what were the exact requirements to use the skills.
Many of them had thought of many things yet no one knew for sure what the requirements were. So after collecting all the information, other players steered away from those who had this skill.
Though if the skill was this powerful and weak at the same time, would it have the same effect on the protagonist?

'So Ninja is gone too.' Zack thought with narrowed eyes as he saw Ninja's name being wiped off the rankings.
Elyon was rising as with the title of the player killer on the forums but this was just the starting point. His actions would influence a lot of other players and that would result in more chaos.
However, Zack didn't care about that.
[ Would you like to battle the dungeon boss? Both party members must select yes to enter the boss fight. ]
He and WolfHeart were both standing at the entrance of the dungeon boss, the final battle in the Fairy forest. This was not going to be an easy battle however, the rewards afterward would make the entire thing worth it.
"Imagine doing all that hard work and getting to this point just to die and being sent back to the beginning," WolfHeart said with a snort but Zack took her words seriously.
"Don't raise flags."
"Well, too late," WolfHeart replied and Zack could somehow imagine the pink-headed woman smirking below her helmet.
Yet what was spoken was spoken. There was no point to think about that anymore.
The two of them chose yes as their bodies started to flicker. They were then teleported to a new place and started forming a plan.
They were currently surrounded by trees with red-colored leaves and if one paid close attention to the trees, they could see that beehives were hanging from the branches of the tree.
The details had been shared by the developer's alternate account and told that every single one of the contestants would fight a different beast and the latter they would fight, the higher the level of the beast would be.
This had been posted after the event was over and Zack had thought that the information was useless at that point. But he didn't know that he would reincarnate in the past and would be going through the same quest.
"Why isn't the boss fight starting?" WolfHeart asked in a confused tone as a few minutes passed by.
"It's because the system gives five minutes to make sure that all the players are ready with their equipment." The boy replied as another minute passed by when the system notifications finally appeared.
[ Boss fight starting is starting in 5 seconds. ]
[ 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… ]
[ One of the ten guardians of the forest is awoken! ]
