Chapter 177 Guardian Of The Eizenburgh Family [Part 1]
"Please talk about things that make sense," Zack muttered as Lance stared back at him with a disappointed expression.
"It is worth a try you know. Just let Mia touch my head and then see how she reacts. There is no harm in doing that."
Zack had to admit that Lance's words made sense. It wouldn't hurt them to go and ask Mia to touch the Phoenix's forehead.
There was a good chance that she might be able to remember something from it.
"Then let's go," Zack said as dashed through the mansion to reach her room.
However, she was not in there which left Zack with the only option of meeting Eva and asking her about his sister's location.
*
"Come in," Eva said aloud as she sat on the chair in her office. She was currently looking through the production of potions she had been supplied with by the underworld.
"Eva, do you know where Mia is?" Zack suddenly step inside the room which made Eva freeze.
Zack calmly waited for her to reply as he sat down on one of the chairs in front of her. Eva's eyes looked all over his body as she broke herself out of her daze.
"Mia? She is currently inside the Solanski family mansion and going through all the files and riches they had. Anything else?"
"No, thank you for telling me that," Zack replied as he walked away and went to sit in his room.
While hanging on the edge of his bed, he looked at Lance zoom around the entire place while trying to get used to his new size.
"It feels weird to be this short. I think I was never this small except for the few minutes after I was born." Lance muttered as he flew near Zack and settled down on his shoulder. "Should we enter Hikari to pass some time?"
"We can certainly do that. I will just need to summon you inside the game using Chastiefol."
Zack decided to enter Hikari while being inside his room. There was a chance that Lance's body would remain in the real world the same way Zack's did.
He didn't want his newly reborn friend to once again die and go through the entire process again.
'I will talk to all of them after taking a rough look at what is going on inside Hikari. This will also be a good time to see whether Snowie can be brought inside the real world or not.'
After thinking that, Zack summoned his VR glasses using the inventory. The item had been bound to the inventory slot and could be summoned even if Zack had taken it out and placed it in another place.
However, this ability didn't apply to all other objects in the inventory.
"Hurry up," Lance said in an annoyed tone as Zack sighed and wore the glasses.
He then entered Hikari and appeared inside his guild.
Zack then chanted the words to summon Lance and patiently waited inside the guild.
"If only I was in my original form, I would have made a stylish entry." Lance's voice suddenly echoed from behind Zack as the Phoenix shot forward.
"So that means that you could have arrived in less style and eye-attracting manner all those times I summoned you."
"Uh… yeah."
Zack didn't ask any further questions and stepped out of the guild. The streets had long since been killed of blood and were almost back to their original form.
But as Zack lifted his eyes to look around, he felt a sharp pain emerge in his stomach. That's when he remembered about the food pills and immediately took a few of them out of his inventory.
He swallowed them whole, soon followed by water pills before finally feeling relieved. He then looked around to see soldiers marching around every corner.
They look terrified as though expecting an attack to land at any second. Zack narrowed his eyes at this as he immediately flew in the palace's direction.
His sudden appearance in the sky seemed to lift the mood of the soldiers marching around. All of them let go of a small amount of tension they had been holding on to and started marching more actively.
Zack on the other hand entered the palace and made his way to the throne room, only to find it empty. His next step was to the bedroom where he found Pearl standing outside with a grim expression.
"Where do you keep on vanishing?" She asked the moment she saw Zack before sighing and pointing inside.
She knew there was only one reason for him to be there and that was to meet the king.
Zack didn't have any reply to her question and passed it as rhetorical. He instead moved inside the room, Lance hid inside his coat.
Jonathan was standing on his balcony while overseeing the entire city.
The king looked old for once as the worries and burden on his shoulders seemed to make creases and wrinkles appear on his face.
Hearing the sound of someone's footsteps, Jonathan turned around to see Zack standing near his bed.
The latter didn't say anything and opened his coat. Lance shot out at full speed before taking in the air and glaring at Zack.
"That was so hot!" He complained before turning to look at Jonathan whose mouth was half-open.
The king looked stunned to see a small Phoenix shot out of Zack's pockets but was even more shocked when he felt a burning sensation spreading through his body.
"Are you the guardian of the Eizenburgh family?" Jonathan immediately asked as he remembered all the details told about the guardian.
It was often said that the guardian who had protected the Eizenburgh kingdom and the one that had donated his eyes was a Phoenix.
It was also said that any member of the Eizenburgh family was able to sense the presence of the guardian.
"Uh, did your great-great and many great grandmother have red hair and courageous orange eyes?" Lance asked while trying to remember whether he had ever formed a contract with someone whose last name was 'Eizenburgh'.
"I have no idea," Jonathan replied in a sad tone as Lance shook his head.
"There is only one way to know it. Please give me a drop of your blood and a tear."
