Chapter 63 The Noble House Of Griffins [Part 1]
Chapter 63 The Noble House Of Griffins [Part 1]
"Wait what?! Evangeline already got the gaming pods installed in the house?" Zack's eyes thoroughly scanned Emma's face to see whether she was lying or not.
"Just follow me." the pink-haired woman sighed as she stretched her arms. She was currently wearing shorts and a loose top which she had gotten from the pile of clothes Evangeline had brought for her.
Emma had to admit that it felt nice to be in new clothes after being in the same ones for a few days.
She hadn't played Hikari for four days since she had been getting used to the new house and preparing a few things.
During this time, she had also gotten to know Mia and the two could be called friends.
"She arrived around 10 pm with big workers and they installed the entire thing in a few hours. Since you weren't here, I just got them installed in an empty room on the third floor." Emma replied as they appeared in front of a room three doors away from Emma's room.
"So we are going to be playing here from now on," Zack said in an interested tone as he looked at the shining gaming pod.
He already had many plans on what he and Emma were going to do once both of them were in Hethburn. But till the time being, he decided to have dinner with Mia before logging into Hikari.
Since Emma was now living with them, she too had dinner with the two siblings.
"Damn, that's some next-level cooking," Emma muttered as she looked at Mia as though she was her new idol. "If I have some free time, would you teach me how to cook like that?"
"Sure," Mia replied with a small smile as she ate her dinner. It had been quite some time since a new person had complimented her on her cooking.
"Unfortunately, that free time might have to wait," Zack suddenly interrupted as he looked at Emma. "We are going to have to play the game together for at least ten days. There is something important that we have to do."
She nodded and after finishing their dinner, the two guild masters moved up to the room with the pods, Zack had already told Mia that he wouldn't be logging out for at least ten days or more.
"Then I won't bother you." Mia sighed before going up to her own room to be lonely for a few more days.
Zack felt sad that he had to do this but he couldn't stop playing the game. Even though he was still the top player, his lead was still a little short.
In the span of ten days, Zack's plan was to at least get a ten-level lead so that he could take a day-long break every now and then.
"Excited?" Zack asked while staring at the gaming pods alongside Emma. Both of them were fascinated by the entire thing as well as the full dive experience that they had enjoyed for a few minutes.
"It will be a completely different thing from here on," Emma replied with a smile as the duo stepped into the pods.
After a few minutes, they finally dived into Hikari.
""Link start.""
The same procedure happened again as Zack and Emma appeared at their save spots.
Emma was currently at the guild while Zack was at the hotel in Hethburn. He had already asked her to take Icarus and come over to Hethburn alongside him.
'I wonder why I still keep these white hair.' The teenager had first chosen a different hair color and look to make sure that no one would recognize him in the real world.
But now that most of the world had already seen him, there was no point in maintaining his current in-game appearance.
After going on to his status page, Zack chose the appearance button and synced his avatar with his real-life look.
[ Player Lin Fan can revert the look any time he wants as he has the custom character card applied. ]
After the notification, the teenager now had his real-life look in the game.
"Now I should go and meet Emma." He muttered as he started traveling towards the city's entrance.
Due to the contract he had signed with the two scam eagles, Zack could track their locations anytime he wanted. Emma could do the same while also being able to communicate with the two eagles using telepathy.
So while traveling with the two eagles, the duo could more or less, keep a track of each other's location.
'Looks like Icarus is also motivated like his brother.' Zack could sense that Icarus was almost moving at the same speed as his brother.
Most girls Zack had known throughout his life would have screamed at such an incident but he could imagine Emma enjoying the entire thing.
And just like he had thought, she had a huge smile on her face when she landed near him with the eagle.
She jumped off Icarus's back when it was ten feet off the ground and landed perfectly.
"So this is the city of diamonds huh. Not gonna lie but this place doesn't give the whole diamonds vibe." Emma immediately assessed the city and in a way, she was correct.
People without the right information wouldn't have known that Hethburn was the city with the most amount of jewels in the entire Eizenburgh kingdom.
But the reason for this was because those living in the city were taxed twice as much as those living in other cities.
'That could be one of the main reasons for the nobles to exploit the jewels and get more money.' Zack thought with narrowed eyes as he then relayed his plan to Emma.
"We are going to go ahead and check a noble house called the house of Griffins. It is said that the Griffins had been managing the mines for as long as one could remember."
Emma immediately realized what this meant and why Zack had chosen the particular noble house.
"So they are the most candidates behind this whole thing. Let's see how this goes."
The duo then entered the city with the thought of getting to the roots of the entire exploitation business with the hopes of becoming counts.
After all, Jonathan would have no choice except to make both of them counts if they managed to complete the quest successfully.
