Chapter 400 Covert Ops-2

Chapter 400  Covert Ops-2

" Do you get it?" Steve asked over the radio.

" Yeah, We counted fifteen people including our target. Good work." Zero commended his efforts.

They couldn't expose their existence to the enemy without knowing their numbers. Steve's ruckus led to coming on the deck. That way, Zero, and his men could quickly identify the enemy's firepower.

It might be accessible with thermal imaging or infrared sensors, but unfortunately, they couldn't see through the metal, which was why they had to do it in a roundabout manner.

" Where is the other one?" Zero asked.

" I don't know she went out exploring. I will call her over and we will tell you when we are geared."

" I will be back soon." Jane also added as they were sharing the same channel.

" Okay."

Meanwhile, Jane was sneaking around, avoiding whatever was left of the skeleton crew inside the facility. It was a big building covered with security cameras, but now that they were hacking their feeds, she could navigate easily as long as no one saw her.

" Two guards ahead, make a left, and hunker down in the staff room for a while." Arthur was giving her instructions, monitoring from the shadows. He was a master assassin and could easily circumvent through the clouds watching over her every move.

" Alright."

" What the plan? I don't see any use of this." Arthur asked.

" I read the report that Mr Zero gave us. Although we don't know much about the suspect, we know each dock has it's own storage facility given to them as an amenity. I thought if we can find it we might get something useful." She explained.

" I think I saw something like that behind this warehouse while I was sneaking inside. We can have a look there."

" Okay. Please guide me."

They quickly made their way toward it, hoping to find any sort of clue about the ship's destination.

...

...

...

After half an hour, Steve was done with unloading everything and made his way back to the truck. He was in the process of gearing up when he heard Zero through the radio.

" Stop! I don't think we have much time now." Zero conveyed over the radio.

" Why, what happened?" Jane came back with an extra bag that was bulging with materials. It mainly was documents, but she was more concerned with present developments.

" They turned on the engine for some reason. We are still in the water but we can't hold much longer. We will go full force and capture the target. You guys should hang back and ready the transport."

" Okay we will be here if things go south."

" South? That's impossible, distract anyone that tries to come in our vicinity for few minutes. It will be over soon. We are going dark." Zero said with confidence and cut off the communications.

During this operation, they needed an entire focus; they only had five people against a confirmed fifteen armed people. Seeing the urgency, he chose to go hot and heavy on this one.

" Okay, safety off. Follow my lead." Zero took out a suppressed Springfield Saint with a special .300 AAC rounds.

The .300 AAC Blackout rounds were grandly suppressed because they are naturally subsonic and get quiet with a can. The shorter barrel length of an AR made the firearm more maneuverable with the suppressor attached, keeping the overall length reasonable and weight down.

Others also took out their weapon and slowly ascended the boat, one from each side. With the absence of moonlight, it was very dark outside. Everything around the ship was illuminated, but it was done sloppily, which meant there were many areas Zero and his people could sneak from.

They spotted five armed guards on the deck, all the other doors were closed, but there were many glass windows, so they had to wait for the right moment. After perfect coordination, everyone pounced while disposing of the hostile bogeys with their knives.

Quietly laying them in the corner, Zero signaled everyone to move toward the deck's entrance. He quietly opened the door and signaled everyone to be alert. They made their way inside, killing anyone that moved, the bodies were adding up, and soon they were left with three more people.

Surveying the layout, they found four rooms left for them to search. They knew the biggest one was where their target was, so they focused on the rest first. Moving straight, they stopped in front of three other doors.

Zero gave the signal; he stood back as support while others went inside. He heard muffled groaning from two of the room, but there was a sudden loud gunshot from his left. He saw one of his people tumbling backward, groaning in pain.

He swiftly ran toward the door and dragged her out of the fire line. Several more shots were fired, all of which missed finding its target, but it hit the metal producing loud sounds.

" I knew I smell a rat! Who are you?" A man shouted from inside, demanding answers, his gun was pointed toward the door, but it was so dark that he couldn't see anything.

He quietly moved to turn on the lights, but as he did so, he flinched at the sudden illumination. He saw a dark figure and tried to fire his gun, but he felt a sudden pain in his hand.

" Arghh" He didn't even notice, but a throwing knife sliced off his trigger finger, making him unable to fire. He groaned with unbearable pain seeing red squirt from his hand. He squatted down, trying to stop the bleeding grasping for his dropped firearm with his other hand. He was not the type of person that would go down so quickly!

" You- No-" It was already over for him, but an intense chill ran down his spine when he lifted his head to look at the perpetrator.

Zero didn't give him any chance to speak and threw several more knives targeting his vitals, instantly incapacitating him.

" Why....we.....are...." He tried to say something looking at Zero. His watery eyes didn't have any confusion; it was like he was looking at someone he knew, but before he could say anything else, the spark of life left his body.

After disposing of him, Zero instructed one of his people to take Seven out of the boat while others quickly restrained their mission's target. She didn't have severe injuries due to wearing a tactical vest, but her broken ribs would need some time to heal.

Stuffing the target in a body bag, they made their way toward the deck, but when Zero turned her communications on, disturbing news reached his ears.

There were some movements in the warehouse, and they were moving toward their transport location!
