Chapter 492 Big Reveal-3
Chapter 492 Big Reveal-3
?
" What are you doing here, Uncle Peter?" Samuel had only seen a few of him these past couple of years. The last he heard that Peter was on a world tour honing his martial arts skills.
" Why? I have been back for six months now and been busy with a mini project of my own." Peter said excitedly.
" Yeah? Does it has something to do with this house?"
" Yes, this would be the center. We are building a detached building few hundred meters deeper into the woods."
" Is it another martial art studio? We already have a state of the art facility."
" No, no. It's something to do with animals. I have been thinking about it for few years now, we have all this empty land that's been devoid of animals."
" W-what are you planning to do? Open an animal sanctuary or something?" Samuel was baffled by this sudden development. It's one thing to own land, but maintaining animals under it was a different ballpark.
Not to mention the dangers of animal attacks; no matter how he thought about it, it was a bad idea. Horses were one thing; they didn't go out of their way to hurt people, and their area was sealed well when they opened the farm.
He hadn't visited the place but hadn't heard about any severe accidents yet, even when kids played with them. But any large carnivore would be a disaster to their quiet walks in the forest!
" Sanctuary? That's a narrow dream, we planned to make a seperate ecology system. It would be great to show to our guest or have our own mini safari so close to home!"
Hearing him, both Arthur and Samuel were stumped, but Greyson, on the other hand, was beaming with anticipation. He was still a child at heart; no matter how much he tried to imitate his brother, it was hard to let go of the temptation of seeing exotic animals up close!
" Have you discussed with father? It sounds dangerous; what type of animals are you planning to introduce in my 'backyard'!?" Samuel didn't shy away from showing his displeasure with Peter's plan, to which he only smiled like he anticipated such reactions.
" Everything is set, within few days first batch of animals would arrive! Look forward to it!"
" Wait! First tell me everything!"
" But I wanted to make it a surprise. If I knew you would be coming here today, I wouldn't have come here. But since you saw me, I had to say something right?"
" Uncle! Don't try to change the subject!"
" Fine! For the first batch, couple hundred red and roe deers. Apparently there has been an epidemic of deers going on in rural England and Scottish highlands. I heard there was an abundance present right here centuries ago so they would definitely fit right in."
" Deer doesn't sound bad what else?" Samuel felt that he was hiding something.
" Other than that...some wolfs. Nothing else, alright time for me to leave. I have to handle logistics-"
" You better tell me before I shut everything down! How many?"
" Only one pack! They are to maintain the deer population that's all!"
" Do you even know how dangerous that is? What if they break out and eat someone!? I don't know how you manage to convince father and grandfather but I know mother is definitely in the blind! She would never allow something like this build here with Greyson in the mix."
" But brother, I want to see the wolfs! Can't you do something about it?" Grey mustered his puppy eyes, his final weapon. No one denied his requests, yet whenever he used it! It was something that he learned from cheeky Anya.
" Shit! Why? Why is so interested in wolfs?" Samuel thought but still decided to turn down his little brother. It was one of those things that he couldn't get behind due to safety concerns.
" Don't be like that! You should at least see the facility. It's completely detached from outside, with one gate going in and out it directly connects to the massive walls that surround our lands." Peter urged.
" Even if this place is big, someday they would spill out. Have you thought about that? What about getting permission from the government and bringing wolves into the country? that's bound to be illegal right?" Arthur posed several questions that he found dire fault in Peter's plan.
" Everything has been arranged, you don't have to worry about such procedures. I should show you everything first."
Samuel didn't expect him to be so connected; he must have found someone competent for help. Introducing wolves in England again would become a big deal, attracting all sorts of people. He followed Peter as they headed toward the detached base of operation.
" I am fully confident. I know what you are thinking about, being an extinct local animal we decided not to publicize the news yet. The issue with over spilling is in works, we are planning to expand the land by next year. I have contacted the owner and with enough money they will be willing to let go of their backlands, There is too much unused lands in these areas and most of them are used for farming."
Peter began telling them more details, and soon they reached the facility. Few people were there to receive them as he had called ahead to inform him he was bringing guests.
" It's good to see you sir. Everything is ready, it would take few more days to inspect everything to see there are no blind spots in our fencing." One person came forward and began reporting.
" Can we see wolf from here in the future?" Grey asked.
" Of course, kid. There is a built-in viewing area and we used see through tough glass so that we don't disturb them." The man replied with a smile.
" Sami, this is Owen. He would be responsible for maintaining this sturdy fence." Peter introduced the person in charge. Owen was a middle-aged man with a rugged look. His body was sturdy, and he was wearing simple brown clothes, which were dirty to the point of turning black.
" Hello."
" It's great to finally meet you kid! I should show you around, I can't believe my dream is finally coming true! Thank you for giving me this opportunity!"
" Yeah..." Samuel couldn't refuse him. Looking at his excited face, Samuel knew he was heavily invested in this project. Only later, when he talked to Peter more, he discovered the man's vast background.
