" Sir?" The staff stopped him as Samuel was about to enter the private room. She had a worried face while looking at him.
" Is something wrong? Did something happen when I was away?" Samuel feared that bastard Clark had returned to harass them when he was away. He scanned his surroundings and found that he was not in the club, meaning he had already left.
" No sir, it's just. Your shirt?" She motioned toward his chest. He saw a huge wet spot running all over his shirt. It was probably due to Avery's ugly crying on his chest.
" Ah, this. I seemed to have an accident because my hands were shaking because I was intoxicated. Do you have anything that I could change into?" He said with a straight face. She could tell he was not drunk even a bit, but she still accepted his explanation.
" I will ask my manager, but I am afraid not many people wear clothes of your size. It would be hard to find something; we can send someone to buy something from surrounding stores." She apologized and blushed. Samuel unbuttoned his shirt in the corner; his bulging, usually hidden muscles were on full display.
" That won't be necessary; bring me something I could fit in." He ordered her nonchalantly. He didn't care much as his mind was in a different place.
She hurriedly left and went downstairs to talk to her manager. Within a few minutes, she was back; she was huffing, probably because she didn't use the lift and ran up the stairs.
She handed him a black knitted sweater that was way too oversized for him. He looked at it for a second, baffled by her choice.
" I am sorry, we only have this clean sweater that I asked one of our bouncers about the same height as you. He has a similar build as Mr Darren, but to look less intimidating, he prefers to wear baggy clothes." She was embarrassed.
" I can make do with simple T-shirts too. I think it's way too much for me." Samuel wanted to decline, but she refused his request.
" It's not good to wear thin clothes; the weather is chilly lately. I don't want Mr Samuel to catch a cold!" It was thoughtful of her, but why was she blushing when she said it? Sometimes, Samuel wondered if his charm was a curse or a blessing! He reluctantly took the sweater and inspected the material.
" Don't worry, I checked. It's been washed, and unlike the usual cheap sweater, it would not hurt your skin! I also thought it would look great on you!"
" T-thanks." Samuel put it on, and just as she said, it didn't itch like he expected and was pretty comfortable. It looked like an old sweater, but looking at the patches and fixing it seemed to have sentimental value to the bouncer from whom she took it.
" It seems fine. Here, take this. Have it dry clean first and split it between you and the bouncer. I am sure it will cover everything." He handed her the black shirt that he was wearing. She instinctively took it, but when she looked at the label, she was shocked.
" S-sir, I can't take this! It's too expensive!" She knew a lot about brands working at the club. Even though she could not afford most of it, she was sure as soon she looked at the label that it had a price tag of thousands of dollars!
" It's fine; take it as the tip. If it's too much, share it with your co-workers. It's second hand, so it would not go for its original price, only a few tens of thousands." He didn't let her say anything else and simply entered the room.
Darren, Emma and Dhia were still sipping away at alcohol; it's uncertain if they even noticed he was gone for ten minutes.
" Oh, here it is! The potato chips that I ordered! I don't know they had a self-service policy!" Darren stood up and patted Samuel's back. The smell of alcohol filled the room, which meant they were already drunk!
" Omg! You are right! What happened to you? Why are you wearing the sack of potatoes? Hahaha," Emma giggled, looking at him.
" Look at this thing! It must have weighed a ton!" He added again.
" Maybe we have to skin it to expose the pulp! My glass is already empty! Waiter, three more bottles of the same thing!" Dhia, who was quite casual, had turned into a completely different person. Her lady-like appearance was nowhere to be seen; even her dress was dishevelled.
" Alright! That's it. We are done here. I can't have you guys drink more. I can't deal with three drunkards!" Samuel tried to stop them but was only tackled on the sofa by Darren.
" Come on! We can still go on!"
" That's right. We will drink till the morning!" The couple proclaimed, but it didn't go as planned.
They were down under an hour. Dhia was still standing; she drank plenty of water and felt refreshed again. Samuel was sober as usual.
" I am sorry; I don't know what got into me. I am used to drinking, but I think these stuff had much more alcohol content than I imagined." She was conscious enough to know that she made fun of Samuel and the other two. It was okay for them, but she had just met him; what if she offended him?
" It's alright; I will call a few people to send them home. What about you?" He asked as he called his men who were lurking around.
" I drove here, but I will take a cab or something. You don't need to worry about that."
" Nonsense, I should drive you. It's getting late, and I didn't want anything more to happen to you." Samuel was still worried about Clark's intervention. He would not relax until he had put surveillance on him.
" That's not necessary."
" It's alright. It's only nine; I have plenty of time." He also wanted to avoid going home tonight. After dropping her off, he would check in at the hotel or head to his Surrey Estate for some alone time.
