Elisa still felt that she should discuss this with Gareth.
Thus, with a heavy heart, she kept pondering over this matter.
After much thought, she ultimately decided to discuss it with Bella in advance.
As soon as the call connected. Elisa began talking about the matter.
At the doorway, Kaylee had initially intended to return the facial cleanser. She stared at the cleanser, her face adorned with a peculiar smile. In it contained some small “gifts” she had carefully prepared. Although they wouldn’t disfigure Elisa’s face, they were potent enough to keep her out of sight for a good ten days or half a month.
Kaylee put away her smile. Just as her hand touched the doorknob, she heard a voice coming from inside.
The quality of the door was quite good, so naturally, the sound insulation was excellent, and she could only hear bits and pieces.
However, even what she had heard was enough to astound her and, even more so, to make her apprehensive.
-She vaguely heard Elisa saying something about Julia being off and Wyrithian.
Greatly alarmed, Kaylee realized that Elisa had probably found out something. She desperately wanted to hear more clearly, but it seemed that the latter had already finished speaking and hung up the phone.
Following that came a flurry of footsteps.
Before the call was hung up, Kaylee had heard Elisa mention Gareth’s name.
Could it be… No! I absolutely won’t allow such a thing to happen!
She quickly took a seat in the living room, somewhat unnaturally adjusting her attire.
When Elisa opened the door, she immediately saw Kaylee sitting on the couch, staring at her unblinkingly. The latter’s pitch-black eyes were somewhat eerie, as if they were about to swallow her whole.
“You’re up?” Elisa seemed quite surprised. Normally, at this time, Kaylee would still be in bed.
Kaylee withdrew her gaze, making a great effort to suppress her emotions. When she looked at Elisa again, her eyes were crystal clear.
It was as if the one who seemed bloodthirsty and eager to feast on flesh just a moment ago wasn’t her.
Elisa was momentarily dazed.
Kaylee nodded, smiling as she answered, “I’ve ordered breakfast. Would you like to join me?” After speaking, she looked at Elisa with a scrutinizing gaze that made one feel rather uncomfortable.
Upon hearing this, Elisa stilled, clearly surprised by Kaylee’s invitation. She then shook her head.
“No need. I’ve already ordered breakfast from downstairs. Take your time and enjoy it.”
With that, Elisa was about to leave but was stopped by Kaylee.
“Why don’t we eat together, then? It’s boring to eat alone in the room.” Kaylee stood up, looking at Elisa with enthusiasm.
The latter peered at the former for quite a while, creating a somewhat awkward atmosphere.
Of course, Elisa could refuse, but eating breakfast in the lobby was Kaylee’s right.
I can’t possibly be so overbearing as not to let her go down for breakfast, can I?
After a moment of silence, she bobbed her head. “Let’s go together, then.”
Kaylee flashed a smile.
As Elisa turned around, Kaylee revealed an intriguing smile toward the former’s retreating figure.
The two of them went downstairs together.
Bella and Gareth were already neatly dressed and seated in their places.
As for Rachel, she was still enjoying her sleep and would be up a bit later.
Elisa gave a nod, seemingly unconcerned, and simply took a seat.
Upon seeing Kaylee, Bella was briefly taken aback. She fixed her gaze on Elisa intently, silently questioning what was going on.
With a hint of helplessness, Elisa shook her head, indicating that the situation was complicated.
