Sitting in the driver’s seat, Gareth remained silent. He had no intention of leaving yet because he was keen to continue listening.

Linda was a bundle of nerves, but she bit the bullet and continued explaining. “Actually, we gave her those proposals at that time, expecting that she wouldn’t be able to handle it. The intention was to make her realize how difficult reality is and deter her so that she can progress smoothly in the future. Many of those proposals were actually abandoned proposals because they were so challenging that no one could solve them.”

While Linda was explaining, Will’s gaze fell on Elisa. “Hey Elisa, you’ve suffered so much. Do you really want to face the situation alone? As long as you agree, Bennett Corporation will be yours tomorrow.”

Elisa looked at Will with her crystal-clear eyes and wore a half-smile. “Thanks, Mr. Darcey, but I prefer working things out on my own. That would be much more meaningful, don’t you think so?”

The company is Dad’s hard work. I have to take it back step by step through my own effort. I can’t rely on others otherwise; I would be deemed as eye candy. If that happens, the employees won’t be persuaded, just like Linda said, and I won’t be able to lead the company well.
