Vincent let out a cold snort. “Stop panicking – they are right ahead of us. It’s Norman who wants to meet Elisa, who calls the shots now. There’s nothing to worry about.”
Rachel also laughed frostily. “She’s my best friend. Of course, I care about her! And…” She snorted coldly. “Aren’t you best friends with Gareth? It’s because of him that you agreed to meet Norman today. Now that Elisa has left, why are you still defending her? I’ll wait to see how Gareth deals with you later!”

“How can I do that? I’m worried about leaving you alone with him. There’s a lot of us – it’s not going to be easy even if he’s cooking some plans,” Rachel replied firmly. She wouldn’t leave her friends behind even if she was in a bad mood. That was not the way she did things.
Elisa pursed her lips, knowing that Rachel wouldn’t change her mind. Even if she knew there was no danger, she just let Rachel tag along.
Soon, they got into the car, and Vincent walked directly to the driver’s seat. “I’ll drive.”
Elisa shot a glance at him.
She knew the main reason he was here, so she passed the keys to him. “Thanks.”
Vincent didn’t say a word and took his seat.
With him in the driver’s seat, it was impossible for Rachel to take the seat beside him. Hence, she sat at the back.
Charli was not close with Vincent, so Elisa ended up taking the passenger seat.
When Vincent was driving, he shot occasional glances at Rachel through the rearview mirror. When he saw how nonchalant she was, he became more irate.

After a while, there were no signs of it. She put her phone down and said disinterestedly, “I thought there would be something on Twitter, but there’s nothing.”
