Chapter 15: Smearing Hongjun’s Name and Rewarding Pangu’s Blood!

“Given this situation, I can almost be certain that Hongjun is targeting our Wu race!” Chu Xuan spoke boldly, shocking the assembled Wu Ancestors.

If not for being in Pangu Palace where they couldn’t be overheard, they would have been ready to prepare for battle. To slander a saint, especially when Hongjun had just announced his lecture, bordered on provocation. However, they understood that this young brother before them wouldn’t speak without reason.

Di Jiang’s expression turned somber as he spoke heavily, “Do you have any suspicions?”

In fact, Di Jiang had doubts of his own, but he had said otherwise earlier to reassure the Wu Ancestors. Yet if Chu Xuan voiced these suspicions with evidence, Di Jiang would be prepared to face this saint.

Chu Xuan nodded, then shook his head. “I have suspicions, but no concrete evidence for now. The timing of his arrival is too convenient. He even went out of his way to stabilize the tribulation and then made an announcement! The tribulation is part of the Primordial Realm’s natural order; if he simply intended to preach, why interfere? In my view, that person likely harbors doubts—doubts about the abnormality in the tribulation. If he were solely focused on teaching, why concern himself with the workings of the Primordial Realm’s tribulation and even intervene? This is the natural order of heaven and earth. And then, consider how his announcement came just as we were preparing to strike against the Yao race, effectively halting our actions. It suggests favoritism toward the Yao race. Even if that wasn’t his intent, the result was favoritism. For us, this suspicion alone is enough. The matter concerns our race’s life and death; how could we entrust it to others?”

Though Chu Xuan couldn’t provide many specifics, he smeared Hongjun’s name as much as possible.

And he wasn’t wrong. Regardless of intent, the Yao race had already benefitted, and the Wu race could not risk its safety without concrete proof. Thus, even if Chu Xuan’s accusations were baseless, the gathered Wu Ancestors were quickly convinced, some feeling anger, others dissatisfaction.

They now regarded Hongjun as an imagined foe, which was precisely what Chu Xuan hoped for.

The Wu race needs an opponent, one they regard seriously. Only then can they stay clear-headed, giving me room to maneuver! What’s more, I’m not deceiving them. From Hongjun’s perspective, watching these relics of a bygone era act so grandiosely while ignoring the immortal path—they’re doomed! Chu Xuan mused to himself.

Although he had added pressure, Chu Xuan reassured them to avoid unrealistic expectations. “Of course, this is only speculation for now. And even if it’s true, since that one hasn’t directly acted against us, it doesn’t mean they truly intend to target us. Or they may be bound by certain restrictions. So, our only real target remains the Yao race. We need only prepare ourselves.”

Hearing Chu Xuan’s words, the Wu Ancestors calmed down slightly and acknowledged his points. If Hongjun hadn’t acted, the threat couldn’t be too great. As for the Yao race, they were no match even if they had a saint’s favoritism, though they might become a bit more troublesome.

With this, Di Jiang also joined in and began to arrange tasks for everyone. “Since that’s settled, Zhu Rong, you may begin your breakthrough to the Quasi-Saint level here in Pangu Palace. As long as we strengthen ourselves, any changes outside will pose no threat.”

The Wu Ancestors nodded solemnly. Chu Xuan’s words had shaken them awake and dispelled their complacency due to the establishment of the tribulation and the diminished threat of the Yao race. Now, they felt a renewed sense of urgency in their cultivation.

Seeing this, Chu Xuan was very satisfied. He then prepared to leave the hall and give the Wu Ancestors space for their breakthroughs. The best place for these breakthroughs, away from the interference of powerful primordial beings and the tribulation, was indeed Pangu Palace.

Before Chu Xuan could leave, Di Jiang called him back. “Little brother Chu Xuan, wait a moment! The matter isn’t finished yet.”

Chu Xuan, caught off guard, paused, as Di Jiang explained with a gentle expression. “Though we Wu race shares a common origin, you are not a Wu Ancestor and are not blessed with the race’s fate. Thus, you are not obliged to support the race. Earlier, due to the urgency, we delayed the discussion of rewards, but now that it’s over, our Wu race cannot ignore a meritorious individual.”

With this, Di Jiang looked around at the Wu Ancestors. “Chu Xuan’s contributions have been immense; he averted our great enemy and directly facilitated the breakthroughs of six of our Wu Ancestors. Brothers and sisters, I propose we reward him with Father God’s blood essence. Any objections?”

Though Di Jiang’s words were framed as a question, it was clear he had made up his mind. The Wu Ancestors were briefly surprised by his regard for Chu Xuan. Yet, considering Chu Xuan’s merit, they quickly understood. His contributions indeed warranted a drop of Father God’s blood Qi!

Aside from the blood Qi, nothing else was worthy of him. Rank, honor? Such things were meaningless; as Wu race members, they were straightforward. So, after their initial shock, the Wu Ancestors nodded in agreement and raised no objections.

Chu Xuan, upon realizing what was happening, was deeply moved. “Father God’s blood Qi?”

Seeing the agreement, Di Jiang nodded and explained to Chu Xuan with a smile. “All the celestial beings of the Primordial Realm know that when Father God opened the heavens and transformed into the Primordial Realm, he left twelve drops of blood Qi, creating the twelve of us as Wu Ancestors.”

“However, they don’t know that as Pangu’s true lineage, Father God, not only left us his heart, which continues to produce more Wu race members but also preserved one drop of blood Qi within it. We intended to save this drop for a key moment, to help a powerful Wu race member ascend to the rank of Wu Ancestor. But now, your accomplishments and strength have earned you this drop of Father God’s blood. It rightfully belongs to you.”

With these words, Di Jiang summoned a pulsing drop of radiant blood from Pangu’s heart, which trembled and then released a terrifying, invisible pressure.

As the blood Qi emerged, Pangu’s heart dimmed, but no one paid it any mind. All eyes were on this shining drop of Pangu’s blood Qi, radiating a solemn pressure that even Chu Xuan, as a Golden Immortal of the Da Luo realm, felt deeply.
