Chapter 592 The Trade
Chapter 592 The Trade
"I'm here for a simple trade. I'm going to give you something important, something that I'm sure that you'll find interesting, but I'll need information from you." Jack responded, also going straight to the point.
Wade raised his brows as he looked at Jack, wondering what it was that Jack was talking about that was capable of arousing his interest.
Sylvia on the other hand was not that much surprised when Jack stated that he possessed an item that was capable of arising the interest of her brother. But of course, what caught her attention was the fact that Jack wanted to trade for information from her family.
At this moment, she began wondering what kind of information Jack wanted. In any case, she decided to remain silent, waiting to listen to what it was that he was going to talk about.
As for Alicia, she looked deflated, without the excitement that she was possessing not long ago. At this moment, she was feeling nervous. It seemed that Jack had come here with another reason, but the meeting of the two of them was just a coincidence.
From the conversation between her father and Jack, she could tell that the two of them were just meeting, and the reason why they were meeting was purely business. And the business was even initiated by Jack himself, implying that it was impossible that her father was the one that had brought Jack over.
Alicia could not help but feel a little bit devastated. It was true that in the entire stronghold, there were actually several other people that she could get married to, other than David. After all, it was not as if the Storm family was the only family that possessed such a background.
But instead, even without depending on the other families, there were actually other forces that were almost at the same level as her family. If she found a person that was valued within those big organizations within this stronghold, she believed that her parents would be able to agree to the marriage between her and that person.
It was just that she was not interested in any youth present within the Devin stronghold. She had already interacted with almost everyone of them, and none of them had impressed her.
Additionally, currently, she had already fallen in love with Jack. So, how was it possible that she was going to agree to be married to another person? That was an impossibility, and that was something that she was not going to agree to, no matter what.
"Do you mind letting me know the kind of information that you want me to reveal to you? In case it is the information about my family, I better go ahead and tell you from the very start that I'll not be giving you that kind of information at all." Wade stated as he squinted his eyes as he looked at Jack.
Jack was not surprised. Since this person was the real leader of the entire Storm family currently, that implied that he was a smart person. And since that was the case, it was clear that he was not a person that was going to do things on impulse.
So instead of asking for whatever it was that Jack was trying to offer, he wanted to know what it was that Jack wanted first. After that, he was going to evaluate if what Jack wanted in exchange for the information that he was going to receive was actually of the same value as what he was going to offer.
Jack remained silent for a moment. Of course during this moment, he was trying to communicate with the system, trying to ask if during this transaction, if he gained the information from the Storm family, it was going to be considered as income or not.
It was true that It was already confirmed previously that he could have the income which was the information multiplied by 100 times, but he had to make sure. In case it did not work, he had to look for another method.
But of course, the system did not respond to him at all. Although he was expecting it, Jack was a little bit disappointed.
As for Wade, he thought that Jack was remaining silent because of the people inside the room. So, he looked at Ruth and said, "Do you mind giving the two of us some space?"
It was only after Wade had spoken that Jack finally realized that Wade had misunderstood his silence. So, he explained, "There's no need for that at all. In any case, the trade is not something that needs to be kept so secretive or something like that."
Immediately after saying that, Jack revealed what he was here for. "I want information about The Ace Group. Since I came to you, that implies that I want deeper information, and not just the very basic information that can be found anyway. I want information that reveals as much as possible."
The moment that Jack stated what he wanted, everyone in the room was completely dumbfounded. Jack actually wanted information about The Ace Group? All of them could not help but wonder what was the reason.
Not to mention the fact that the ace group was the biggest force in the entire stronghold, in case information reached them, they would definitely take action against whoever it was that was targeting them.
Other than that fact that they were the biggest first present in the entire stronghold, there was the background that nobody knew about that was backing them. After all, it was impossible for them to be able to gain resources that easily as compared to the other families and organization present in the entire Stronghold.
"Are you about the request that you are having?" Wade asked with a frown on his face. It might be true that the reason why Jack wanted information about the ace group was not much related to him But still, in case this information was revealed, the ace group would definitely target him and the Storm family.
"If I was joking, I do believe that I would not have come to see you at this moment." Jack responded nonchalantly.
Looking at the serious expression that was on Jack's face, Wade realized that Jack was serious about this matter. Of course, in normal situations, if it was just anybody that had come over, Wade would have not hesitated to try to gain something from them.
But this Jack, he was mysterious. Not only was he somehow related to his daughter, but he was also related to his sister in some way. Due to that reason, no matter what, unless he understood Jack completely, there was no way that he was going to make an enemy out of him.
Sylvia on the other hand could not help but wonder if the ace group had made an enemy out of Jack. In normal situations, she knew that Jack was definitely not a person who went ahead to create enemies. It was always other people who offended him first, before he took action.
So, since Jack was here for the information about the ace group, Sylvia begin having her own suspicions. At the same time, she began wondering if Jack was actually capable of taking care of the ace group. If he was actually capable of doing that, that implied that there was going to be a storm that was going to rise within the Devin stronghold.
"What is it that you are going to offer in return?" Wade asked. Instead of immediately refusing the offer, he decided to know what it was that Jack was going to give them in exchange for the information.
Jack was not asking for a simple information that could be considered general, but instead, he was asking for deep information about the ace group.
Of course the Storm family had been keeping a tab on the ace group. And it might be true that the ace group was keeping a lot of information hidden, but it was not as if the other families and organizations were also quite easy to deal with.
So, until now, a lot of information about the ace group had been collected. It was just that no matter how much information they collected about the ace group, without enough strength, it was definitely impossible for them to be able to take care of the ace group.
At the same time, it was not as if the ace group was targeting them directly. But instead, although they were controlling the majority of the resources in the stronghold, at least, they did not target any family or organization directly, making an enemy out of them.
Otherwise, if they did something like that, it was a sure bet that all the families and organizations present within the Devin stronghold would band together to deal with them, no matter their own interests.
Jack did not respond, but instead, he took out a small box from his pocket. Without even opening it, he placed it on the table, before he pushed it towards Wade's direction.
With a little hesitation, Wade stretched his hand and picked up the small box. The box was not made out of advanced technology, so it was easy for Wade to open it. And when he opened it, he realized that inside of the box, there was a small glass that contained a small liquid.
The glass bottle Inside was not that big, but very small, the size of an adult thumb. As for the liquid that was inside, it was pale purple in color. This was the first time that Wade was seeing something like this. So, he did not know what it was.
"What is this?" Wade asked as he shifted his attention from the small box towards Jack who was seated on his right.
