Chapter 299  The Lost Royal 2!

Yu Hua's heart clenched in pain, looking at the gruesome cut on Ning Zhilian's face, and she raised her hand, her finger reaching out to touch the wound.

However Ning Zhilian shook her head "Don't touch it, Hua'er."

Yu Hua's hand trembled and she retracted her hand, her eyes quivering in sorrow. "Lady Zhilian, w-what happened? How did you get that wound?" she stammered.

Ning Zhilian's gaze lowered "It is during the day of the coup. That day... the rebels suddenly infiltrated the palace and began their assault."

"I was sleeping that night, so the time I heard the commotion and the screams of soldiers, it was too late."

"I quickly went to Mother's room but on my way there, I saw the ministers killing our Father. But I just stood there helplessly as they plunged their weapons into his chest."

"So I rushed to my mother's room to check on her and there too... I was too late. What I saw was... Mother's burning corpse."

Ning Zhilian's eyes trembled "B-But I managed to save Little Zuiye."

H-Huh? Yu Hua was startled to hear this "Lady Zuiye? You saved Lady Zuiye? B-But where is she...?"

Ning Zhilian's eyes moistened as she shook her head "I.. don't know... the last time I remember seeing her was... I... handed her over to someone in military.. but.. I don't know what happened afterwards."

Someone in military? Yu Hua narrowed her eyes upon hearing this.

What was military doing near Zhenzhu that day? I should talk with Ombudsman and investigate the people who came to Zhenzhu during the day of the coup.

Yu Hua saw the tears streaming down Ning Zhilian's face as they cascaded through the gruesome, deep red scar on her face.

Yu Hua raised her hand, gently wiping away the tears cascading through the terrible scars on her face.

"L-Lady Zhilian... this wound."

Ning Zhilian took a deep breath and controlled her overwhelming emotions "That day.. I jumped in my mother's room to save her."

"But there were two other cultivators in the Monarch Astral stage inside. Seeing the burning corpse of my mother.. I knew I couldn't save her..."

"However I saw Little Zuiye standing there... I am sure the little girl is traumatized."

"So to atleast save her, I took her from there and rushed out of the palace... but.. one of the two men inside the room saw me and quickly followed me."

"I struggled a bit... but I somehow escaped from his him and gave Little Zuiye to the military men."

...

"Haah" "Haa" Ning Zhilian is dashing through the air, her body draped with royal robes but now those are stained red with blood.

Talking in heavy breaths, she raised her hand "The rune..." a mutter left her lips as yellow light energy concentrated on the fingertip of her fore finger.

With the light energy, she began to draw rune patterns in mid air.

"Quick.. quick..." Her hands and eyes were trembling as she hastily drew the rune her heartbeat rising with each movement.

*gik* Suddenly she felt her hair tingling and swiftly moved to the right instinctively in mid air.

With a swift *sleesh* sound, a crimson spear sliced through the air, narrowly missing Ning Zhilian as she deftly shifted to the side, avoiding the deadly slash by a mere fraction of an inch. *wleessh* However, her eyes shook in terror as she saw the red spear inching close to her left hand.

*sleesh* Before she could react, the blade deftly sliced through her left arm and her arm flew away in the air.

"Urghhh!" Ning Zhilian gritted her teeth feeling the terrible pain sweeping across her body and hastily concentrated the light energy on her left arm stopping the bloood loss.

Her lips trembled, experiencing the pain and she turned her glare towards the man in front of her.

The man chuckled faintly noticing the light energy covering her body "Its really good to have the light elemental eh.. you can heal so easily."

However, Ning Zhilian concentrated on only stopping the blood loss and not regrowing the limb with her light energy.

She knew it would take a lot of astral energy to regenerate the lost limb but now she needs energy to fight the man in front of her.

'8th level of the Monarch Astral stage.. while I am in 6th level...'

*swoosh* A blue dagger materialized within her palm and she gripped it tightly as the light energy concentrated around her body, forming a transparent yellow armor.

Seeing this, the man swiftly swung the spear imbued with fire elemental and Ning Zhilian raised her dagger to block it.

*clank* But because of the force behind the man's attack, she was thrown away in the air.

*woosh* As she struggled to maintain her balance in the air, the man suddenly appeared in front of her and gave a swift kick on her abdomen.

*crack* "Arghhh!" She felt her stomach convulse by the kick and was again thrown in the air.

*cough* She quickly steadied herself in the air and coughed blood as it cascaded down her lips.

*swish* The man again appeared in front of Ning Zhilian and slashed his spear vertically.

Out of instinct, Ning Zhilian raised the dagger above her head to block his spear.

*clank* His spear hit the dagger and as he thrust it, *sleech* it cleaved through the dagger and the blade inched to her face.

*sleesh* From her forehead to her lips, the edge of the red blade sliced like a butter leaving a deep red wound.

"Urghhhhh!" Ning Zhilian growled in pain feeling the hot red blade slice through her face and instantly clutched face as blood gushed out of her face.

"Oh.. your beauty is ruined. Haha..." the man laughed mockingly, and Ning Zhilian quickly used the light energy to stop the blood loss.

Her eyes narrowed and a yellow light flickered through her purple eyes.

*wooosh* Large rune patterns shining in yellow appeared in between Ning Zhilian and the man.

Gritting her teeth in pain, Ning Zhilian muttered "Blooming lotus... Inferno radiance."

*SWOOOOOOSSSHHHHH* In the next instant, the night brimmed with a radiant yellow light and it suddenly exploded.

*BOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM*
