Chapter 109 - I Like Peace And Quiet
Chapter 109 - I Like Peace And Quiet
"I'll pay for those too." Polemos waved his hand nonchalantly before he continued to pummel the sh*t out of Cao Wudi.
Problems that can be solved with money are not problems.
"This… This…"
Having received the emperor's guarantee, Branch Leader Johnson and Secretary Jane were still stunned, speechless for another reason as they watched Hero Wudi get kicked around like a ragdoll.
'Wasn't this person supposed to be your Lord? Why are you kicking him around like a punching bag?!' Branch Leader Johnson thought with doubts.
He quickly spotted Albion before making his way over with a question, "Little Brother Albion… What is going on here? Why is Emperor Polemos beating up Hero Wudi instead…"
"Instead…?" Albion gave Branch Leader Johnson a casual side glance.
"Ahem, never mind." Branch Leader Johnson swallowed his words and smiled wryly before asking, "Why are they fighting? Is there any way you make them stop and fight somewhere else?"
"Hm? Sure." Albion nodded before he hollered out, "Polemos, stop!"
"Is there a problem, my Lord?" Polemos queried after halting his hands while Cao Wudi dangled in his clutches, eyes swirling from all the dizziness.
"Un." Albion nodded before he calmly said, "Move to the third floor before you continue."
"Yes, my Lord." Polemos accepted, albeit with surprise.
At the same time, Branch Leader Johnson staggered before hugging Albion's leg with a tearful expression, "Little Brother Albion… that was not what I meant…!"
"Oh? Then what did you mean?"
"I…"
Branch Leader Johnson almost coughed up blood.
Why was it so hard to communicate with this young man? Was he really not getting it, or was he just pretending not to?
Either way, Branch Leader Johnson felt a gut-wrenching frustration boiling inside of him before he took a deep breath and sighed, "Haiz…. Forget it."
"Oh."
"Polemos, wait. You can continue here."
"Yes, my Lord."
Polemos nodded, feeling stupefied. The Lord was as eccentric as ever.
Shortly after, Cao Wudi continued to get flung left and right into ceilings, the floors, and the walls, damaging not only everything but even his black armor.
A Ka-cha here, a ka-cha there, various things broke.
Branch Leader Johnson felt like someone was slamming his heart with a sledgehammer every time he heard something breaking.
Meanwhile, various dents were seen on Cao Wudi's black armor while fragments started chipping off the corners.
Cao Wudi's blood rushed to his head as he eventually exploded from the unjust bullying, "For the love of God, whose f*cking sides are you talking about?!"
There was only so much a man can endure before he snaps.
"You're a stubborn one, aren't you? Fine. Let me ask you this, which master do you serve?" Polemos changed his question.
Cao Wudi was dumbfounded before he responded with a derisive look, "What master do I serve? What am I supposed to say? The Chief of Police? The Federation? Or Branch Leader Johnson over there, now that I am a registered Hunter?"
"You really don't learn…"
Polemos's gaze narrowed dangerous, preparing to take extreme measures when Branch Leader Johnson's voice trickled over with hesitation, "If you are wondering who Hero Wudi's master is, Your Majesty, he is the disciple of Old Demon."
"You mean his master is the disciple of Old Demon?" Polemos glanced over to Branch Leader Johnson with surprise, stunning the person in turns.
"Eh? No, no, no." Branch Leader Johnson shook his head and said, "What I mean is Hero Wudi IS the disciple of Old Demon."
Once Polemos heard those words, he shifted his gaze over to the Lord with an incomprehensible look before releasing his grip on Cao Wudi, letting the person drop to the ground with a thud.
"So you were one of us after all…" Polemos muttered.
He could understand if Cao Wudi did not know Old Demon's true identity.
The Dark Emperor tends to assume different aliases when training new candidates before roping them into the Ashura Group.
But how can the Lord himself not know who the person is?
Emperor Polemos strolled over to Albion's side before whispering with doubt, "My Lord, wasn't one of your aliases also called Old Demon? Do you like seeing new potential members getting pummeled before they join, or did you just forget, my Lord?"
"Hm? Old Demon?" Albion furrowed his brows.
Ding!

The et cetera list went on and on, making Albion gaped in shock. As expected of the Dark Emperor. There were many impressive yet dark aliases mixed with some dubious ones.
Nevertheless, Albion quickly made a fist-wresting-on-palm gesture while exclaiming, "Oh! He is Old Demon's disciples! Of course, I knew that."
Emperor Polemos glanced at his Lord with doubt, but he dared not question the Lord.
Shortly after, Albion turned to Branch Leader Johnson and spoke, "Hahaha, sorry for the troubles. We just cleared up some internal misunderstandings."
"Internal misunderstandings, you say? You mean you are all part of the same group or something?" Branch Leader Johnson inquired with doubt.
"Un." Albion nodded calmly.
However, when Branch Leader Johnson glanced over to Cao Wudi, the person stared back at him with an expression that says he was not with these two crazy people at all!
His face practically screamed, 'save me!'
"Polemos, pick up Mr. Wudi. We are taking him with us."
"Yes, my Lord."
After Albion and Polemos spoke, Cao Wudi could no longer stay silent and cried, "Branch Leader Johnson, save me! I'm not as strong you think! The large interdimensional creature was not defeated by me! I just happened to be there!"
"It was not defeated by you?" Branch Leader Johnson frowned with surprise.
"Of course, it was not defeated by him," Polemos spoke disdainfully like he was talking to ignorant people before gesturing to Albion with utmost respect, "It was done by my Lord here."
Do they even know how strong a person has to be in order to produce a powerful enough attack to pierce the heavens?
"This… Don't tell me that…"
"I didn't take down the Bloodmoon Gang either!"
Branch Leader widened eyes at Cao Wudi's confirmation before shifting his gaze to Albion, "Was it…"
"Un. It was also me." Albion nodded calmly.
As Albion headed towards the exit with Polemos carrying Cao Wudi over his shoulders, Branch Leader Johnson quickly said, "The whole city recognizes Hero Wudi as the one who did the two deeds. How should I rectify this?"
Now that Hero Wudi was a registered Hunter of the Hunter Association, they would be damaging their own reputation if they suddenly make the announcement that the Behemoth-class interdimensional creature's defeat belonged to someone else.
After all, they had recruited the wrong person.
"Just let him continue hugging the spotlight. I don't like attention anyway." Albion shrugged nonchalantly before adding, "I prefer the peace and quiet."
"Peace and quiet, huh…?" Branch Leader Johnson muttered after Albion left with Polemos and Cao Wudi before shifting onto the lobby's devastation.
'Well! This sure doesn't look like peace and quiet to me!'
