Chapter 139 - Let Me Demonstrate
Chapter 139 - Let Me Demonstrate
"You want to buy my flowers?"
The little boy showed no fear and only defiance as he proceeded to give Albion a top-to-bottom glance before asking, "What does a monk need roses for? Not like you have anyone for Valentine's Day."
The little boy's words stabbed into multiple sore spots, causing Albion to suffer critical damage and immediately want to puke blood on the spot.
"What did you just call me? A monk?!" Albion questioned the damn bra—the little boy.
There was not much he can do about being single. In fact, there's nothing wrong with being single! But why was he called a monk?!
"Are you not?"
The boy narrowed his eyes, trying to look up at Albion's shiny head with the glaring sun in the background before he noticed the person was actually not bald.
"Ah, sorry. Your head was so shiny, I thought you were a bald monk," The little boy apologized.
However, his deadpan expression showed little emotion, making his apology appear to not be sincere at all.
Albion's expression became darker with gloominess before feeling his own head while thinking, 'Is my head really that shiny?'
Nevertheless, after the boy realized Albion was not a monk, he was no longer in a hurry to leave and viewed Albion as a potential customer.
"How many roses do you want to buy, big brother?" The boy asked with a grumpy look.
Albion furrowed his brows slightly before nonchalantly stating, "I'll buy all of them. How much?"
"I have a hundred roses here, and each rose costs $5, which totals to $500. Are you really buying everything?" The boy asked eagerly.
Evidently, the boy was happy to sell all the roses at once, but Albion saw no such emotion except a grumpy look.
At the same time, he raised an eyebrow at the price but chose not to say anything about it.
"Brat, there's something wrong with your expression. In a situation like this, you should smile to show your appreciation, no? Come, show me a smile. It will help you improve your customer service," Albion guided.
The little boy wrinkled his brows slightly before he spouted, "Never!"
"Never? You have never smiled, or you will never smile?" Albion asked.
However, the boy did not answer. Instead, he reached out his hand and gestured with a defiant look for Albion to pay up.
"You won't smile?" Albion asked solemnly with a dark and menacing vibe surrounding him, making him quite intimidating.
However, in the next moment…
"How about I give you a demonstration?" Albion made an attempt at smiling, albeit hideously, as the built-up dark and menacing vibe disappeared without a trace.
"..."
The little boy gazed at Albion with a deadpan expression, unimpressed.
At the same time, the onlookers glanced at Albion's comedic display from a distance before they no longer concerned themselves with the two.
"Seems like that young man wasn't trying to bully that little boy…"
"Yeah, no need to call the police for this…"
The onlookers comprising of middle-aged ladies and old grandmas muttered before continuing on with their own businesses.
"Ahem!"
Albion coughed awkwardly.
"Alright, fine. Here, take it and beat it, kid." Albion took out the $500 cash from the Ashura Ring and toss it into the flower basket after grabbing a hundred roses.
"Thank you, big brother. Have a nice Valentine's Day with your girlfriend tomorrow," The little boy said happily, undergoing a complete change in attitude after receiving the money.
"I don't have a girlfriend."
"Then… your boyfriend?" The little boy gave Albion a weird look.
"Scram! Can't I buy flowers for myself? Hmph!" Albion's lips twitched before said snappishly while the little boy ran away with his empty flower basket in a short fit of laughter.
Not long after the little boy left, Albion furrowed his brows.
He walked over and picked up his cracked phone before patting it clean with a sigh, "Seems it is still usable. Haiz… I'm not good at dealing with kids…"
After a few moments, Albion followed in the same direction the boy had left. He was not in a hurry to find Cao Wudi.
'If the spaceship crashed, it would have been too late to save Wudi, not to mention the impact would have destroyed the city. Since that is not the case, there's no need to look for him immediately,' Albion contemplated.
Shortly after, his lips curved up with an amusing thought.
Wudi was practically kidnapped and taken away from Silvercove City for two days. He should at least give the poor bloke some free time to do his own things from time to time.
Ring, ring~!
Albion dialed a number.
Within moments, the call was picked up before Reagan Declan's voice was heard on the other side.
[You called, boss?]
"Yeah, there's something I want to ask you. Is the gang involved in child trafficking?" Albion casually asked.
[We did dabble in this type of business in the past, but the profit was not high, and the risks involved weren't worth the effort either, so we abandoned it. Are you interested in expanding this business, boss?]
"No, I am only asking because I found a child I am suspecting of abuse and forced labor," Albion responded calmly.
[This… I admit that we have used orphan children to make money for us by begging rich people on the streets, but even we have our bottom lines, boss. I'm afraid only the Metti Gang would be this unscrupulous...]
Reagan Declan declared.
"I see. Thanks."
[Where did you find this child—]
Beep!
Albion ended the call before Reagan Declan could finish speaking.
…
Reagan Declan smiled wryly after the boss hung up on him abruptly before he could find out more details from the boss.
"What did the boss ask about?" Ah Zhen asked on the side.
"Some child trafficking business, but we need not concern ourselves with this matter and just focus on practicing the Earth-grade Martial Arts," Reagan Declan sighed before adding, "It seems like the boss will be handling this matter alone."
"Child trafficking? The Metti Gang really no bottom lines.. They've only recently taken control of our territories, but they already expanded their child trafficking business in this area?" Meng Yan frowned.
