Chapter 241 - The Blizzard Earthworm's Usage
Chapter 241 - The Blizzard Earthworm's Usage
As the blizzard earthworms gathered around in mourning of their fallen king, Albion rubbed the blue stain off the sole of his shoe on the ground before he noticed the group of bluish-white earthworms on the ground.
"Oh, what do we have here?" Albion softly exclaimed with curiosity.
The tiny bluish-white earthworms circled around the puddle of blue substance like they were worshipping it from his perspective, but in truth, he had stepped on their king and popped the little bugger.
"Oh, sh*t. Sorry about that. Must have been someone important to you little guys," Albion apologized with surprise.
Nevertheless, the moment he approached for a closer look, his towering shadow loomed over them once more, startling them as their raised their heads at Albion and Fenriri's figure.
"Oh, no! There are still people from the Iceborn Wolf Tribe here! It hasn't been completely abandoned yet!"
"Ahhh—! Run for your life! Don't them capture you! You'll be eaten like those who came before us!"
The group of blizzard earthworms plunged into chaos as they panicked and began scrambling about. Some drilled back into the ground while others stood their ground, taken aback.
"What about the prophecy?"
"F*ck the prophecy!"
As Albion watched the several dozen blizzard earthworms scatter and burrow back into the ground, he lightly stomped the ground and sent out a trace of mental power through his feet.
The blizzard earthworms were immediately ejected back out of the ground and failed to reenter due to the ground being hardened through compression under Albion's mental ability.
Shortly after, Albion crouched down and gazed at them.
The panicky group of bluish-white earthworms immediately split into the left and right side as they escaped Albion's direct line of sight, leaving a single earthworm stranded in the middle.
Albion scrutinized the earthworm and noticed it was pretty peculiar, unlike the average earthworm back on Earth.
On the contrary, the bluish-white earthworms had faces and exhibited high intelligence.
It retreated backward until it was backed against a tall wall, which was only a small ledge to Albion, and began hyperventilating in fear.
"Ahhh—! Don't eat me! I don't taste good!" the earthworm cried.
However, Albion could only hear tiny murmurs from the little bugger.

<+1 proficiency in the Hundred Beast Language>
"Oh?"
Albion softly gasped with surprise
"I did not expect these little things to be included in the Hundred Beast Language as well," Albion casually commented.
"Master, what's so fascinating about these blizzard earthworms?" Fenriri asked curiously, seeing how entranced her master was.
Suddenly, a light bulb seemed to have lit up in her head before she quickly followed up with another question, "Could it be that Master is thinking of turning them into some rare human delicacy? Do humans also eat blizzard earthworms?"
"You eat them…?" Albion asked.
"Yeah! They're not only easy to capture and breed but also easy to eat, making them one of our more staple food," Fenriri answered before asking, "Do you not eat blizzard earthworms, Master?"
"No wonder these blizzard earthworms appear so afraid of us…" Albion muttered as he picked up the blizzard earthworm and observed it trembling fearfully for its life in his hand.
Shortly after, Albion shook his head and said, "There are only ordinary earthworms back on Earth. But while I don't eat them, there are people that do. Nevertheless, they are mostly used as baits for fishing."
"Oh? Master likes fishing? Is that why Master is so interested in these blizzard earthworms?" Fenriri continued to question Albion curiously.
However, Albion shook his head again and said, "No, I've thought of a better use for these little guys. It's too barbaric and wasteful to simply eat them, especially when they are this intelligent."
"Even if they are intelligent, we can't understand them… eh? Could it be that Master can understand what they are saying? I can barely hear anything coming from them," Fenriri said with surprise.
"No, not yet. But in the near future, it will be possible for me to understand these little guys," Albion casually stated be said thoughtfully, "It's better to use these little guys to improve the soil quality for cultivating spirit herbs."
If he was not wrong, the blizzard earthworms' intelligence and appearance resulted from the abundant spiritual energy in the world.
"Given the cold aura on their bodies as are a result of the abundant cold-attribute spiritual energy in the environment, the spirit herbs with frigid attributes will raise swiftly in quality if they grow in soils with these little guys," Albion stated.
Alas, he did not really have a use for frigid-attribute spirit herbs.
But that did not mean that he might not need them in the future, not to mention he might come across a subordinate with the frigid-attribute physique that he could use the spirit herbs on.
"Fenriri is surprised. Fenriri didn't think blizzard earthworms could be used like this…" Fenriri uttered with wide eyes as she gazed at the blizzard earthworms with nowhere to go.
"Generally, everything has a use, whether they are good or bad. You just have to find out what their uses are in order to utilize them effectively," Albion calmly explained.
Shortly after putting the blizzard earthworm back down, Albion suddenly clapped his hands together and said with a smile, "Alright, let's wrap them all up and bring them all back later. I'm sure Polemos would be happy to have some of them for his plants."
Although Albion came to the Netherfrost Blizzard Realm searching for valuable resources to bring back to Earth, he did not expect to find one so soon upon his arrival.
Perhaps, he finally rubbed off all his bad luck onto others.
At the same time, the blizzard earthworm previously picked up by Albion could not believe that it was still alive and even freed.
"I'm still alive…?" the blizzard earthworm muttered to itself.
The rest of the blizzard earthworms were just as surprised by the situation as they all had looks of shock and disbelief.
"To think there will be a day we don't get eaten after being picked up…"
"The prophecy must be real! The gods have smiled upon him! He must have been chosen to lead us! He is the chosen one!"
"All hail the new king!"
Without warning or prior planning, blizzard earthworms worshipped a new king to lead them to the promised land.
