I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 269 - Recruitment Offer

Chapter 269 - Recruitment Offer

"It?" Albion furrowed his brows and asked coolly, "Where's your previous confidence now?"

"Excuse my impudence, my lord, for I did not recognize your majesty!" White Impermanence said.

Albion was taken aback before he looked at White Impermanence with doubt and asked, "You sure you didn't get the wrong person?"

"There's no way we would make a mistake! Those red eyes, it can only belong to the Dark Emperor!" White Impermanence argued with trembling fear before he covered his mouth as if he mentioned a taboo existence.

Alas, he was seeing the taboo existence in person himself, so it did not make much difference whether he said it or not.

"Oh?" Albion's interest was raised before he waved them off, "Since you know, then I will let you off this time. Go, get out of here and stop bothering me."

"Yes, thank you, Your Majesty!"

Being pardoned, Black Impermanence and White Impermanence hopped into the spatial crack and disappeared swiftly as if they could not escape any quicker.

Nevertheless, it was brought to Albion's attention that the Dark Emperor's title [King Yama] was not just a figurative name but one with actual authority in the Underworld.

'Interesting. I didn't expect the Dark Emperor to actually have a connection with the Underworld Realm,' Albion mused thoughtfully.

With the majority of the Dark Emperor's memories unabsorbed, there were many things that he had yet to learn.

Even so, Albion could guess that the [King Yama] title did not come freely.

The Dark Emperor must have gone to the Underworld Realm and brought devastation to the place. Perhaps, the original King Yama was even slain by the Dark Emperor.

Albion quickly developed a keen interest in learning about the events and the method to enter the Underworld Realm, but he was not in a rush to look for the memory fragment to absorb.

'Forget it. I'll learn about it eventually.'

At the same time, Albion had completely ignored the surrounding crowd as they viewed him as a crazy person.

However, it only lasted until someone took out their phone and record him—did they realized there were existences that they could not see with their naked eyes and hear with their ears.

"Oh my god, is this real? There are actually ghosts in this world! I didn't believe in them then, but I believe in them now!"

"Hah, about time. Ever since supernatural abilities became a thing, I was long prepared for the existence of supernatural beings like ghosts and evil spirits," a male bystander spoke confidently, but his hand could be seen trembling.

Albion did not know that his earlier encounter with White Impermanence was also recorded by the bystanders and posted on the internet.

However, the videos did not gain traction and make the headlines because many people scoffed at them, discredited them, and assumed it was fake.

When the snotty boy's mother heard the people talk, she took out her own phone for a look before she was shocked at the truth.

"Mom, aren't you going to seek justice for me? Your precious son was bullied, you know?" the snotty boy questioned as he was pulled away by his mother.

"What justice? Just be a man and suck it up," the snotty boy's mother chided her son and said, "This person is too weird. He knows ghosts and even has them kneeling to him. Who knows if he would place a curse on us or something?"

The snotty boy's mother had completely given up on revenge.

"Master, are there really ghosts?" Fenriri had her eyes widen with surprise before she asked with doubt, "Why can't I see them?"

"Well, that's because you need special vision to see them," Albion patted Fenriri's head and said, "And they're gone now. Besides, they are not ghosts. Instead, they are soul reapers in charge of sending souls to the Underworld."

"Oh, will Fenriri be able to see them in the future?" Fenriri asked curiously.

"Definitely. You will see them once you learn a special ocular technique," Albion assured before urging her, "Now go and buy your things. We have gained a bit of attention here."

"Oh, understood, Master," Fenriri nodded.

As if everyone was afraid of getting caught up in trouble, the people queuing up for the pancake store's service all made way for Fenriri and let her through.

At the same time, a 30-year-old man approached Albion and asked, "Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me more about your encounter with the—"

"Piss off."

"Yes, sir!"

The man was immediately intimidated by Albion's unapproachable attitude before he retreated and left, causing the others to think twice about chatting him up.

Albion was left undisturbed until Fenriri returned with her character pancake and followed him to tour another area.

…

In another location within the anime convention center, Anya Seymour was found with several bags of bought merchandise of her favorite characters and anime.

Figurines, posters, and plushies could be seen among various miscellaneous items found within her bags.

"Hey there, Young Miss. You look like a woman of culture," a young man in his early 30's suddenly called out to Anya Seymour before asking, "Do you have a spare minute?"

"What do you want?"

Anya Seymour frowned slightly at her quality shopping time being disturbed, but she still stuck around to hear what the person has to say.

"What do you think of the Otaku Terrorists?" the man asked casually.

"What do I think?" Anya Seymour was slightly surprised by the question before she answered honestly, "I think they are an interesting group with a great goal!"

"To be honest, they should be called rebels instead of terrorists for rejecting the world government's stance on the interdimensional creatures. I believe coexistence is possible once their intelligence is developed."

"Oh?"

When the man heard Anya Seymour's positive answer, he took a few steps closer and whispered secretively, "Then if I was to save that the Otaku Terrorists are recruiting, would you be interested in joining?"

"This…"

Anya Seymour immediately hesitated as she was aware of the consequences and trouble she could bring home to her family.

Agreeing with the Otaku Terrorists' views was one matter, but actually joining them was an entirely different matter.

"I will have to think about this…."
