Chapter 272 - Three Levels Of Membership
Chapter 272 - Three Levels Of Membership
"Hold on a minute."
As everyone was talking about interdimensional creatures becoming intelligent characters of their dreams, a beer-bellied man raised his voice to stop everyone from talking for a moment.
??"Hm? What's the matter? You have an issue with the evolution of interdimensional creatures?" a young lady asked suspiciously.
However, the beer-bellied man shook his head and said, "I don't! However, I am surprised that no one has mentioned the wolf-people from the Glacia continent yet."
"The wolf-people, huh?"
Once the topic was raised, the gathered youths and adults alike wore intrigued and thoughtful looks.
"I've heard about the wolf-people and tiger-people in the Glacia continent. While I'm not a fan of them, wolf-girls and tiger-girls are indeed cute."
"However, from what I've seen, these wolf-people and tiger-people are just furries and nothing like the wolf-girls and tiger-girls that I've imagined. So, I'm sorry to say, but I am not into furries," a 20-year-old young man stated.
"It seems you haven't heard anything yet, boy," the beer-bellied man said the young man before he stated, "The lower-ranking members are indeed a group of furries, but the royal members are exactly as you imagined wolf-girls and tiger-girls to be."
"Really?!"
The eyes of several hot-blooded youths of both genders immediately brightened at once before one of them suddenly frowned with a sudden thought.
"But how many royal members can there be? Obviously, not a lot."
"Forget about whether we can have one to ourselves, but we might not even get the chance to befriend one. The odds are too low," a young man shook his head.
At that moment, Albion, Fenriri, and Anya arrived with three other people as they joined the crowd and overheard the conversion.
Albion was quickly amused as the enthusiastic group completely took the wolf-people and tiger-people for commodities and goods that can be owned like slavery.
He shifted his gaze to Fenriri, and as expected, her expression was not good.
Nevertheless, he reached out a hand and patted her on the head to calm her down, silently reassuring without a word.
Not long after, the crowd's voices quickly died down as an authoritative-looking person arrived with a group of other people before stepping up onto the podium to overlook the crowd.
"Friends, brothers, sisters, I welcome you all. Everyone has gathered here today because you have shown interest in joining our cause," Jeffrey began speaking with a clear and charismatic voice, easily reaching everyone's ears.
"However, I am also aware that everyone has different levels of commitment in supporting our cause. As such, we have prepared three different levels of membership for everyone to register. Namely, they are divided into assault, logistic, and recon."
As the member of the Otaku Terrorists spoke, Albion rubbed his thoughtfully as the meaning of the three levels were simple to understand.
'Assault, logistic, and recon, huh? Choosing any of these three will determine whether a person becomes a core, inner, or outer member of the Otaku Terrorists,' Albion mused.
Assaults members were people who are willing to fight and die for the organization. Logistics members were in charge of the transport and supply of resources and funds to support the cause. As for recon, they were most likely only in charge of relaying information.
Everything was as Albion assumed when the registration papers were handed out to the crowd, detailing the conditions and responsibilities of each role.
"Although I am certain many of you will choose recon, I do hope that we will have more members joining the assault group," Jeffrey expressed his wish as he swept the crowd a look.
Suddenly, he paused on Albion as he found his face familiar but cannot seem to recall where.
After furrowing his brows for a moment, his thoughts were quickly interrupted by a person raising his hand to ask a question.
"Yes? What do you wish to ask?" Jeffrey permitted the 16-year-old boy to speak.
"Are you the leader of the Otaku Terrorists? Also, what sort of benefits do we get if we choose to join the assault group?" the boy asked.
"I'm afraid the specifics will only be privy to you once you become a member of the assault group," Jeffrey answered before he smiled wryly and chuckled softly shortly after.
"As for me? I am far from being the leader of the Otaku Terrorists. At most, I am just one of the assault team leaders for the south-east Asiana region. Even I have yet to meet the top leaders of the organization."
"How can that be?"
The boy was taken aback, as did everyone else who heard the person's response before Jeffrey smiled ruefully.
"The organization's upper management is very strict and mysterious. While it is possible to contact them at my position, it is not easy to see them. In fact, I doubt any of the assault leaders have met the managerial leaders of the organization."
"Nevertheless, that isn't something you need to know, so take it as I have said nothing," Jeffrey said with a slightly mischievous smile before urging everyone, "Now, please complete your registration quickly."
"The Earth Federation's peacekeeping forces have been dispatched to this city recently, making it a risk for us all to be gathered here like this. I'm sure you all don't want to be here any longer than I do."
That being said, the crowd began to discuss among themselves with enthusiasm about which role they would like to select.
"What are you going to choose, Albion? And you too, Fenriri, what will you choose?" Anya asked.
"Me? Fenriri will choose whatever Master chooses!" Fenriri answered before turning to Albion, "What are you choosing, Master?"
"Does it even need to be mentioned? Of course, it's going to be assault," Albion stated as a matter of fact.
It was the only option that would get him in touch with the organization's core circle.
Shortly after, he shifted his gaze to Anya and said," As for you, it's better that you don't pick assault."
"I know, I know. I am aware of my limits," Anya waved her hands before stating her choice, "I am going with recon."
