Chapter 315 - I Don't Know What I Did Wrong, But I'm Sorry!
Inside the Stillwater Hunter Association Branch, the Hunters rubbed their eyes after witnessing the crawlers vanish in an instance.
"Who is that person? He just wiped out so many crawlers with a wave of his hands!" a Hunter exclaimed with wide eyes.
At the same time, all the other Hunters in the branch building were also shaken by the person's strength.
There were more frequent cases of people developing their special abilities.
Even so, they had not seen such a beautiful black flame before—especially one with such a frightening level of destructiveness.
The hunters were in awe of such power.
"Hm? This person doesn't appear to be human. Look at those long ears. That's not something a normal human would have," a Hunter with sharp eyes suddenly noticed.
In that instance, their admiration immediately died down.
It was already difficult to determine whether another human in such a chaotic and dangerous place was a friend or foe, to say nothing in the least for another race.
"This person… should be an elf," the Branch Leader determined before he wondered, "But what is an elf doing here? Or rather, how did an elf even come here?"
After pondering for a moment, he shortly asked, "Benson, you have been keeping watch on the situation outside the earliest. Did you see how that elf arrived?"
"This…" the B-rank Hunter Benson paused for a moment before he replied, "If I said he fell out of the sky, would you believe me?"
"Hmm…" the Branch Leader fell silent.
Even in the present age, there weren't many people that were capable of flight.
Nevertheless, the number wasn't exactly zero either.
Shortly after the Branch Leader glanced at the small crater outside, he recalled the previous tremor and appeared convinced of Benson's words.
"Yeah, I'll believe you." The Branch Leader nodded before he spoke, "Since the area has been cleared, let us head out and greet this person."
"Are you sure, Branch Leader?"
An A-rank Hunter immediately questioned the Stillwater Hunter Association's Branch Leader's decision before saying, "Although that elf helped us clear out the crawlers in the area, it doesn't necessarily make him a friend."
"True…" the Branch Leader agreed after some thought and said, "I suppose we should observe the person for a bit first and see what the person's intentions are for coming—"
"Branch Leader, look! That person is walking towards our branch!" a C-rank Hunter immediately alerted.
Everyone in the branch building quickly shot their gaze outside the reinforced glass windows and saw Albion approach with Fenriri by his side.
"Oh, the person stopped," a B-rank Hunter mentioned.
"But he seems to be looking directly at us. Can he actually see through the curtains? Does he want something from us?"
As the entire Stillwater Branch wondered what the blonde elf's intentions were, the person suddenly shouted, "Wudi, come out and greet me right now!"
The hunters were quickly taken aback before the Branch Leader urged, "He seems to know Hero Wudi. Quick, send him out to see what the person wants."
"Hero Wudi isn't here…" a Hunter mentioned.
"Then quickly go fetch him!"
"Yes, Branch Leader!"
…
At that moment, Cao Wudi was resting like a dead log in his room, feeling sore all over due to yesterday's battle—or, more precisely, his explosive strength that broke his limits.
"Ugh, I want to die…" Cao Wudi groaned in bed.
"Hero Wudi!" a Hunter suddenly entered the room before he informed, "The Branch Leader is asking you to head outside the building and meet someone. That person seems to know you and called your name."
"Huh? Someone is looking for me? Who? And isn't it currently full of crawlers outside? Do you all want me to die or something?"
"Didn't you just say you want to die?" the hunter smiled mischievously before adding, "Anyway, it's a blonde elf in black clothes. You don't have to worry about the crawlers since that person obliterated them all."
"A blond elf in black clothes…?" Cao Wudi quickly frowned before he muttered, "I've never heard of any blonde elves that wear black in any stories unless they're dark elves. But dark elves don't have blonde hair either…"
As Cao Wudi pondered, he suddenly recalled his previous complaint before he sprung up from his bed, wide awake.
'I didn't summon the grim reaper when I said I want to die due to my aching body, did I?' Cao Wudi was shocked at that thought.
"No, no, no. I'm not going," Cao Wudi refused.
However, Albion's voice seemed to penetrate the build as he called again, "Wudi, come out and greet me now or face the consequences!"
'F*ck!' Cao Wudi cussed.
It seems he had no choice but to go and see what the person wants. He never heard of a grim reaper elf before either.
…
Sometime later, Cao Wudi dragged his sore body outside the building and appeared before Albion and Fenriri.
"What do you want from me, sir?" Cao Wudi asked politely.
Looking at the blonde elf's unfamiliar face, he was certain that he did not know this person, nor did he know any elves for that matter.
"It's only been a few days, but you have already forgotten who I am? Hmph, do you think I am a joke to you, Wudi?!" the elf snorted.
"No, sir…"
Cao Wudi's neck shriveled with fear.
Someone who could obliterate thousands of crawlers was certainly powerful, though he did not know why the person was angry.
"I don't know what I did wrong, but I'm sorry!" Cao Wudi quickly prostrated in apology.
The dense murderous aura radiating off the elf's body gave him the illusion of facing some sort of killing god.
God knows how many people the person had killed to have such an aura.
"Are you pretending to be stupid, or you really don't know who I am?" the elf frowned at Cao Wudi's behavior.
Cao Wudi trembled with trepidation under the elf's gaze.
It was as if the person would kill him if he did not answer the person's question.
"I really don't know who you are, sir! Are you my long-lost father from another mother? Or a lover from another life? You're not a grim reaper who came for my life, right?"
"Pft!"
Fenriri chuckled on the side while Albion's face completely darkened at Cao Wudi's nonsensical guesses.
What the f*ck does a long-lost father from another mother even mean?
