Chapter 318 - Stirring The Hornet's Nest
Chapter 318 - Stirring The Hornet's Nest
After inspecting the Scruxs' territory for a while, Albion abruptly paused a sudden thought.
"These bugs are the same as ones that appeared in the crevasse beneath Stronghold GC-01 in the Glacia continent. If a single crevasse caused Stillwater city to be like this, then…"
Albion frowned.
Fenriri overheard his words before she suddenly came alive on his shoulders, drawing some unknown strength from within or sheer force of will to overcome her sense of nausea and lethargy.
"Master, is my sister and tribe in trouble?" Fenriri asked with gritted teeth that revealed her small fangs.
It was clear she was doing her best to endure her weakness.
"Hmm, it's hard to say," Albion contemplated for a moment and said, "The Iceborn Wolf Tribe lived in a harsh environment that is also abundant in spiritual energy. Your people are much stronger than the humans."
Not only was the average tribesman in the Iceborn Wolf Tribe was around C-rank Hunter, but that is also before they get buffed by the Hunter System operating on the Earth.
"Also, you have your father, the tribe leader, there. His cultivation is even higher than Empress Una and the other three emperors, so there shouldn't be a problem," Albion added.
Fenriri was relieved to hear that.
However, Albion continued, "Nevertheless, we can never be too certain. The crevasse might have spawned some pretty strong bugs since we left."
Fenriri's heart jumped with worry once more.
"Then…"
"We'll have to check on the strongholds' situation after we're done here," Albion said and pinched Fenriri's small nose, "And I'm sure you're starting to miss your family."
"Hehe." Fenriri gave him a smile in response.
Shortly after her body relaxed again, she immediately fainted from exerting herself. She had done her best to overcome her motion sickness.
It wasn't long, but it was a start.
She did well.
Albion transferred some innate energy into her body to regulate her body, and before long, Fenriri's breathing became stable.
However, he did not wake her up and let her rest on his shoulders.
"Now that I think about it, those cultivators in cultivation stories simply have too much free time. When they want to go out and cause trouble, they can. And when they want to cultivate in seclusion, they also have the time."
Albion began recalling the cultivation stories he read.
"But when it comes to me, there are simply too many problems that I don't get any time to cultivate in seclusion. Welcome to the f*cking real world, I guess?" Albion grumbled.
If the Heavenly Tribulation keeps coming, he would not even need to train.
He would farm divine energy and learn everything through Goldfinger.
"Come to think of it, I didn't lose my hair to lightning this time. Was it because I have lightning immunity now?"
Albion suddenly noticed as he held a few strands of his golden blonde hair and inspected them.
"Hm, but this sort of hair length will become a problem if it continues to grow any further. I don't want to be like some lost princess trapped in a witch tower," Albion commented half-jokingly for his self-amusement.
It was fortunate that Cao Wudi grabbed onto his leg and not his hair some time ago. He didn't want another tragic experience of hair loss.
After contemplating for a while, Albion shifted his focus back on the Scruxs' territorial expansion.
"Well, then. I guess it's time to get busy."
After letting Fenriri nap for half an hour, Albion finally descended to the ground some distance away from the Scruxs' territory border before ending his energy circulation and waking the little wolf-girl.
"Gud morning, Mashter," Fenriri greeted while she was still half asleep before yawning and rubbing her eyes.
Albion patted her head and said, "Time to work, Riri."
"Work? What kind of work?" Fenriri immediately became wide awake with a serious look.
"Do you see those bugs up ahead, working hard to build those nasty things?" Albion pointed into the distance while waiting for Fenriri to nod before he continued, "It would very unfortunately if someone came along and knocked them all down."
"Master's meaning is that we should…?" Fenriri replied with a punching-into-her-palm gesture.
"That's right. Wreak havoc and tear them all down." Albion nodded with an evil grin.
"Understood, Master!" Fenriri saluted seriously.
Shortly after, the two of them immediately charged into the Scruxs' territory and began killing bugs and tearing down fleshly buildings in their way.
"Master, this is fun!" Fenriri exclaimed with bright eyes.
There was a certain sense of pleasure in splattering ugly bugs and nasty flesh buildings. It would be even better if she could burn them all down.
Fenriri did not notice that a wicked smile seemingly hung on her face as she indulged herself in violence.
Scree!
The Scruxs quickly alerted the entire territory of an enemy attack with a high-pitch cry, and even the mutated humans in the city received a summoning.
Several tens of thousands of crawlers immediately rushed over from the city.
Meanwhile, Albion took his time contemplating before he took out the frying pan as his tool of mass demolition and eyed a nearby fleshly building.
Coincidentally, destroying the work of others was something he also enjoyed doing.
It was his guilty pleasure.
In his previous life, he wasn't called a menace and griefer by his circle of friends in all the co-op building games they had played together for nothing.
It was all for the sh*ts and giggles.
But, of course, it was also all fun and games until one of them retaliated by TNT'ing his entire home, which took him hours of game time to build.
That's when things got serious.
Nevertheless, a smile hung on Albion's face as he reminisced the good times with his friends. Shortly after, he suddenly glanced up at the sky before silently sighing.
He seems to be lacking friends.
…
Not long after, Albion pushed the sentimental thoughts to the back of his mind before joining Fenriri on her rampage.
Boom…
Albion reinforced his frying pan with dense amounts of spiritual energy, turning it into an indestructible object before smacking a fleshly tower with it.
The sheer force of his swing uprooted the entire fleshly building and sent it flying into the giant hive at the back, shaking it greatly on impact.
"That's gonna stir the hornet's nest."
The more powerful bugs and monsters that are hidden inside the hive wouldn't stay quiet after that move.
