Chapter 93 - Empyrean's Decree
Chapter 93 - Empyrean's Decree
[Ding! Duration of free reign updated; 10min02secs.]
Looking at the notification, Albion could see that his duration had nearly doubled after absorbing one of the Dark Emperor's memory fragments.
However, he did not feel any joy and his countenance seemed to have become slightly colder.
"Since my Divine Energy has reached 14 units, this opens up quite a few options," Albion calmly mused.
"My combat proficiency and skills are lacking, but martial arts is not my priority. Martial art skills can be learned quickly through practice," Albion mulled.
"I've already gained a fair bit of information from the Dark Emperor's memory fragment. There's no need to expend Divine Energy on these skills..."
"According to the Dark Emperor's memories, repeated usage of mental skills can improve the soul besides cultivation..."
Albion pondered thoughtfully before he ordered, "Show me the list of mental skills available for exchange, Goldfinger."
Ding!
The skill tab was quickly opened up.
=====
[Expert-level Ashura's Will]: Costs 10 units of Divine Energy.
[Intermediate-level Ruler's Authority]: Costs 10 units of Divine Energy.
[Basic-level Empyrean's Decree]: Costs 10 units of Divine Energy.
[Basic-level Dominator's Touch]: Costs 5 units of Divine Energy.
[Expert-Level Soul Shock]: Costs 5 units of Divine Energy.
[Expert-level Soul Sense]: Costs 5 units of Divine Energy.
...
=====
Looking at the long list of mental skills, Albion quickly locked his gaze on the skill with the most diverse usage.
[Ding! Do you exchange 10 units of Divine Energy to learn—]
"Yes!" Albion impatiently answered.
[Ding! You have learned Basic-level Empyrean's Decree.]
[10 units of Divine Energy has been deducted.]
[Balance: 4/1000 Divine Energy.]
=====
[Basic-level Empyrean's Decree]: Upgraded version of Ruler's Authority.
Telekinesis-type psychic ability; grants the user the ability to manipulate matter accordingly to one's will.
Restrictions: the manifested effect is limited by the user's imagination and psionic strength.
=====
With the Dark Emperor's memories, Albion did not need to read over the description of his chosen skill.
"All mental skills stem from this mental manipulation. As long as I master this skill, I will pick up other mental skills through practice eventually without needing to exchange with the system..."
"Kukuku... I've always wanted a telekinetic ability," Albion suddenly chuckled wickedly, "With this skill, I will never need to walk to the fridge again."
[...]
Goldfinger was speechless.
"Since this is a psychic ability, can it become stronger in correlation to my anger levels like a certain mob character?" Albion mused before he narrowed his eyes, "Limited by the user's imagination…"
"Kukuku…with the power of anime and imagination, I should be able to master this ability with flying colors—!" Albion swore with determination.
He quickly inspected his surroundings for experimental objects to test his newfound ability.
Shortly after, his gaze locked onto a particular object from the clothing hanger on the lower balcony of the opposite building ahead.
"Come over here, steal—!"
Albion made a grasping gesture at the object in the distance.
…
Nothing happened.
Caw! Caw!
Silence filled the surrounding before a crow squawked in the sky.
"Ahem, seems like the range of my ability is still limited," Albion coughed before he said, "Let's find something closer…"
…
Paradise Grove Hospital Center.
The ambulance arrived outside before a grievous wounded person was quickly transferred to the ER department for immediate treatment.
At the same time, the patient's information was quickly compiled before the entire hospital was alarmed.
The hospital dean himself paid the surgical chief resident's office a visit before he spoke, "Whatever you do, you must make sure the person lives, Anita. We can't have this person dying in our hospital."
"This person is a criminal. It will do the world better if he dies," Chief Surgeon Anita frowned while perusing the patient's information.
"Even so, he is not allowed to die here." Dean Stone sighed before he sternly said, "A tier 3 city hospital like ours cannot endure the Bloodmoon Gang's wrath. Do you understand?"
"…I understand, Dean Stone. I'll do it." Chief Surgeon Anita agreed with a helpless look.
"Good."
Sometime later, Chief Surgeon Anita made her preparation before entering the operation room.
Ligma Bawles was laid unconscious on the operating table, and a team of assisting surgeons were all present, awaiting Chief Surgeon Anita's arrival.
"Dr. Anita Doctor, you're here," The surgeons greeted before saying, "We'll be counting on you."
"Un," Chief Surgeon Anita nodded.
Shortly after, the operation commenced.
Due to Ligma Bawles's grievous injuries, he was supplied with the Green Elixir before the team could proceed with the primary surgery.
Hours flew by in the blink of an eye before Ligma Bawles's condition was stabilized.
"The patient is out of danger. Once I'm done with this last step, the rest of you will finish up w—" Chief Surgeon Anita suddenly paused on the patient's nether region.
'I was told to keep this person alive, but dean never said anything about saving his balls too..." Chief Surgeon Anita frowned in thought before reaching for the scissors.
'Since this person only had one nut removed, let me finish off the job and rid this world from future plagues.'
"Dr. Anita, what are you doing?"
The assistant surgeons were startled after seeing Anita Doctor reached for the scissors, which was not needed for the last step.
"You can't! This person's only two sons have already been castrated by the Nut-Cracking Fiend! If you remove his last nut, you will put an end to his family line!"
"Oh? A Nut-Cracking Fiend did such a thing?" Chief Surgeon Anita responded with surprise, "Isn't that a good thing?"
"But the Wolf King will blame us…" The assistant surgeons were worried about being implicated.
"Don't worry. We will say the unprofessional removal of the other nut caused the last nut to fail, posing life-threatening risks and needed to be removed or something." Chief Surgeon Anita nonchalantly stated.
The assistant surgeons could only comply with twitched lips, "Alright."
…
While news of the incident that occurred outside of the Hunter Association's building continues to spread, Albion diligently practiced his mental skill on the 50-floor skyscraper's rooftop.
[Ding! The required proficiency has been achieved. Basic-level Empyrean's Decree has been updated to Intermediate-level Empyrean's Decree.]
Hearing the sudden notification, Albion smiled smugly, "As I thought, I have talent in this—"
[Ding! Your acquired title, Nut-Cracking Fiend, has been updated. You have earned the new title; Renowned Nut-Cracking Fiend.]
[Renowned Nut-Cracking Fiend: Within the scope of Silvercove City, there's a 20% chance men will tremble in fear when gazed by the title bearer.]
[Ding! You have acquired the title; Bawles the Nut-Ripper.]
[Bawles the Nut-Ripper: The Bawles family's posterity has been ended, forming an irreconcilable grudge between the title bearer and the Bawles family. They will stop at nothing until the title bearer is dead.]
"…"
"…Dafuq?"
Albion was stunned for a moment before he exploded, "What do you mean the Bawles family's posterity ended? Didn't I leave that old man with one nut left?!"
It was apparent that someone else did not like the Bawles family and finished off the deed for him.
Even so, why did the aggro fall onto him?
"Hmph, whatever.. This works out fine for me," Albion snorted in thought, "Even if I spared the Bawless family with one nut, they can't fight destiny in the end."
