I Became A System

Chapter 132 - Talented

Chapter 132 - Talented

"Let's have fun?" Ellena asked out of nowhere. I also even looked at her in perplexity.

"What fun? You have to fight with Verxal, right? One of the famous adventurers in Phlabian?" Selena said.

"Yes, Master. Should we train?" Rosellete asked.

Now that idea has come again. Ellena wanted to try her new technique on humans. Though she had already tested it, their skills were utterly poor. At least they are just gold-rankers in the guild's standards.

Ellena looked at Rosellete in puzzlement. I think she also remembered her idea earlier. But though, there's something that hinders her.

"Rosellete, how good are you with swords?" Ellena asked.

Rosellete's face became stiff. She also made a puzzled expression.

"Well… I think I am at least good on average, but I am bad if compared to you, Master," she answered.

"Have you seen me fight with swords? I think you haven't seen me with a sword." Ellena remarked as she still looked at her in a somewhat intriguing expression.

Rosellete scratched a little of her ear's back.

"I haven't. But looking at your movements, I think you are also good with words," she responded.

Well, it's reasonable. I would also think of it if I was in her position – if I was clueless about things. Movements can't be always linked to swordsmanship. Even if you are good at dodging, it doesn't mean you are good at dodging swords. Even if your punches are accurate, it doesn't mean you are accurate with swords.

The weight and sizes differ. Also, compatibility with weapons is a must, as is a skill.

"You're right, Rosellete. Ellena was good with swords, and even when she was a first-timer, she performed like a trained swordsman." Selena commented, and Ellena groaned. I can understand the repetitive praise. It's too annoying as well.

Rosellete's eyes started to flicker with admiration. And just as Ellena cringed when Selena made a word of her talent, she couldn't help but just groan after Rosellete.

Oh boy. I can really feel her. I had already experienced being continuously recognized, and even in normal situations, someone would always bring up that recognition.

"Stop. Okay? I was just asking her a moment ago, then I suddenly became the topic." Ellena retorted, cutting their dreamy eyes.

Well, Rosellete has dreamy eyes because she couldn't wait to see Ellena's swordsmanship. And Selena was just remembering her immature days where she tried to compete with Ellena.

Ha… I still remember that day when I called her "redhead" inwardly. I thought she had a nasty personality, but it turned out that she was just eager to save a spot to become a knight to help the orphanage.

Now that I remember it, Selena didn't become a knight? Does it mean that no one recognized her talent? But the leader of that expedition team was also praising her before Ellena.

Ah! Never mind. It's not a problem anymore and not necessarily an important detail to procure.

"So, why did you ask?" Selena asked.

"Well, I kind of wanted to test my skills in the fighting technique that I learned."

And just after she said that, both of them exclaimed in surprise.

"You learned what?!"

"A fighting technique." Ellena retorted.

"Holy shit. Fighting techniques are incredibly expensive. Even shops that purposely focus on fighters' needs don't have it. Perhaps those who can buy papered books can buy them since papers can last longer than parchments." Rosellete said.

Well, it was that expensive? I don't know since I didn't ask the shopkeeper.

I just felt like Ellena was glaring at me, even though it was just a glance.

"Care to explain Aaron?" she suddenly asked.

Right! She is not hiding me anymore when she talks to me with them. But when I was introduced, they kinda freaked out every time I touched them.

"Aaron gave it to you?" Selena asked.

"Yup. I just don't know where he got it since he was moving alone early in the morning."

It wasn't early in particular. It was 9 AM and they considered that time to be early.

"You just learned it earlier? Master… you are talented."

And with that, Ellena cringed inwardly again. It must have felt like a never-ending agony for her.

"Please. Forget about it. I just want to try if I can do better. Since you are the strongest adventurer in Azmar, I thought that you could help me test it."

"Of course, Master! I will surely help you."

"And what about me? I am good at swords too. Why didn't you ask me?" Selena suddenly expressed her thoughts, making the room silent.

It was heavy already?... I don't know how girls' mindsets work but are this really what it is? I mean, what happens when girls talk? Can they turn into a heavy talk?

"Of course, I thought of you too, but it's just, you know, less worrying."

Liar.

"Oh. It's okay anyway. I was just joking with you." Selena giggled.

I noticed that Ellena sighed in relief. I almost laughed at her since it was unexpected. She really did lie there.

"So…? Let's go? How about borrowing space in the guild's training area? Thalia can still visit there, right? Let's just say that we're just training while waiting for her." Selena suggested, however, Ellena just shook her head.

"Phlabian doesn't allow it since there are more newbies who join that must use the training grounds. It's not like Azmar, you know. People just don't let the training ground used by veterans since training for newbies is important to reduce the death rate in this profession." Ellena explained.

"How about going outside the city? There is more space and it's easy to dodge some unwanted attention," she added.

"Yes, you're right, Master. Let's go there!" Rosellete cheerfully said.

Thalia was just silent, then Ellena looked at her.

"Do you want to have your own gear? Your gear right now was just what the guild gave you."

Right. The branch of the adventurers' guild in Phlabian is too adventurer friendly since they produce the basic gears for newbies. Copper Rank adventurers can also borrow equipment.

"I don't mind my current gears, Big Sister," Thalia responded.

"It's a big no. While I buy a new sword, go check for some gear you think you want." Ellena said with a sweet smile.

"If you insist. I will." Thalia briefly responded.

After it, Rosellete looked at Ellena with perplexity. She then asked, "Why do you need to buy a new sword, Master?"

"Well, I kind of broke mine. So I need a new one. It's old anyway."

"Oh, I see. Then, let me help you choose a sword for you."

"I will too," Selena added.

"Thanks."
