Chapter 204 - The Battlefield In The Fort Of Sulo

Chapter 204 - The Battlefield In The Fort Of Sulo

Everyone was about to rest, tidying the whole battlefield in the Fort of Sulo. Everyone seems to be tired. Their energies were as if sucked, and they couldn't even lift a massive variant kobold.

But when they were about to be complacent, they heard another rumbling. But they weren't that alarmed as they thought that it might be another wave of the same monsters.

"Everyone, prepare for battle!" A high-positioned soldier ordered which everyone obeyed immediately.

All of them were carefree.

"It's just another blobs and puppies. Can we just call mages for this job? It's too tiring."

"Oh yeah! But I think... fuck... what is that?"

Everyone slowly moved backward with their knees trembling, looking at human-sized monsters approaching them.

They all gawked, looking at every monster with surprise. How could this happen? This wave has the same numbers as the previous wave, but it all looks more formidable.

"What... kind of bullshit is this..."

They could only mumble in fear, still not removing their eyes from the human-sized wolf walking on two feet. They were werewolves, better-built than the average soldiers on the battlefield.

The werewolves slowly approached them with smug faces.

"What's this? Weak humans? They are all ants compared to the 9 humans who halved our number." One werewolf said something that perplexed every soldier in the area.

The Class A at the back was also baffled, trembling while looking at the monsters talking, ridiculing their race.

"It's really funny that Sir Greed asked us to kill them. Do we benefit from their blood? I don't think I'll be satisfied after the 9 strong humans." Another one said, then chuckled in a more mocking manner.

"H-H-How... could a monster... t-talk?"

Just like that, all of their spirits surrendered. They were as if stiffened just having the wave of monsters' presence before them. They weren't that strong from their footsteps earlier, but being before them is a different talk.

"Monster? Did this weak human just call us monsters?" One werewolf said, disdainfully and irritably.

Slash!

"I don't like you weak mobs calling us like that."

Within the blink of an eye, a head dropped from a body, rolling away from it as the body fell down.

Witnessing it, everyone started panicking, running away from the battlefield.

How could they defeat them when they couldn't even see that one coming?!

"Don't desert the battlefield!" A commander yelled but resulted in vain.

The werewolves started attacking the soldiers, lifting their claws, slashing every human in sight, making their armor a joke.

With just this, everyone finally realized why the 9 elites that the lord requested died and all the mobs earlier passed through them. It was all of these monsters' fault.

"Fuck! Attack! Protect! The defense line!"

Class A roared, jumping into the battlefield with three close-combat attackers, two tanks, one mage attacker, and two supports.

With the guidance of the leader, they succeed in killing one... two... five... until ten. But it resulted in them losing a tremendous amount of their energy.

Their efforts caught the attention of the leading werewolves. Because of it, they started talking.

"Hm... Those nine humans look half-half strong compared to the 9. Each of them is at least as strong compared to the rest."

"Right. Just kill them. It's not like they'll survive after killing ten of us."

"Noted! Rampage!"

20 werewolves dashed towards the leading 8 humans. When they noticed it, all of their attention was halved as they were also fighting another ten.

Their formation was like a pentagon, giving them some advantages, but they still had some disadvantages as their energies were being reduced tremendously. Even if they could kill one, their defense was weakened instead.

They wanted to desert the field, but they couldn't as their morals wouldn't let them do it.

They all huffed, gasped for air as the werewolves in front of them were also panting.

"Looks like you monsters are getting tired." One of the members in Class A said, angering a number of the werewolves.

"Grrr..."

"Huh? You can't talk? Ah! Why should I even expect a monster to talk!"

"Graaah!"

One werewolf pounced on them, but in the end, it died before it could even inflict any damage to them. Noticing it, the leader of the squad just had an idea.

It looks like they were weak individually. We can do this if we can conserve our energy.'

"Everyone! Prepare for an immediate kill! Focus on vital points!" And with it, Class A started fighting again. They can't let the soldiers' efforts be in vain with this.

"Graaah!"

Each side roared. Class A received tremendous damage, but they successfully killed another 7 from the monsters' side.

"We can do this-!"

In an instant, the monsters in front of them flattened, squishing the group of werewolves and killing them in an instant.

Blood splattered everywhere, and just as it was becoming an attention-seeking scene, everyone on the battlefield shifted their attention.

"Wha-?"

Every human quivered in fear once again. Just after they witnessed that they could fight these monsters, they started losing strength again.

A huge werewolf just fell from the sky, as if a huge jump had intentionally killed every monster in sight.

"It's enough. You are all useless." The werewolf said, with a hint of irritation on its face.

The werewolf glanced at Class A, and just when they were paused, they were surprised when the body of the werewolf glowed with runes all over its arms.

The leader yelled, grabbing everyone's attention. "It's a variant!"

Other human soldiers moved their positions, grouping with Class A, as it would be more advantageous for them if they could fight as a huge power.

Boom!

But before they could move, the other side of the human soldiers was flattened. The werewolf jumped to that side, killing everyone.

"H-H-How can we defeat that monster!" One of the Class A members cried.

"This isn't right! We are supposed to be doing what's right! But why do these monsters keep on..."

But before she could cry once more, one of the supporters comforted her.

"It's okay. Even if we die, we'll die as a hero. So, can you please smile?" After it, a wide smile with tears from her face reached their eyes.

"Disgusting."
