I Became A System

Chapter 39 - The Grandmother

Chapter 39 - The Grandmother

As Aaron's company reached the city, and just after mesmerizing, they continued their travel to the mansion of the county.

Despite being invisible to others, he was the one who seems to be the most responsible among them. He checks every avenue, corner, alleyway as he makes sure that there are no threats along the way.

More people are now in the vicinity, so it was reasonable for him to be cautious.

The Lord's mansion is away from the city. More appropriate to say, its location is away from the main street since the Lord's mansion is huge than others.

As they are known for their wealth, they stand for it by making their mansion massive. Also having the title as one of the main routes in trading, the annual income of the territory is always blooming for they have the best accommodation and organization for traders.

Seems to be confused by it, Aaron questioned Amber's words of saying that their Grandfather is not a human anymore. He has theories obviously, but he's hoping for the easiest way to fix — the grandfather being cruel to be called as not a human anymore. If it goes on the other way, of being the grandfather really not a human anymore, literally, he would think of it more if it's right to fix Ellena's future with them.

Aaron knew what is best for Ellena, best for her survival at the roughy destiny. But he can't let things became too early, he still needs to prepare Ellena for it. Observing variables to feel the threat, knowing every possibility to know the threat, he must prepare Ellena before he could be powerless when a formidable situation comes.

Passing through the main street, the building became less populated. Spaces are now obvious saying that they are now exiting the city.

Getting near into the residence of the county, the road became more maintained. As there are more trimmed bushes at the side of the road, an enormous and grandiose mansion started to be seen from afar.

'This mansion is too majestic.'

Looking at it for the second time, it is really an awe-inspiring view.

Just outside, a fence of steel supported by concretes just 2 feet above the ground. Steels are spiky, as wells as the gate are purely made of metal. It is a view and a wall for most mansions have. But inside of it is something different.

As the carriage passed, people who were their first time like Ellena, Isabella, and Aaron dropped their jaws as they saw the well-cared plants. Even the bushes are trimmed well just like at the road. As expected of being a wealthy environment, these types of things are meant to be anticipated.

Moving at the long road can be compared to a hundred long street. The expression on their face is just irreplaceable, as it was really their first time, they just seem to not remove their eyes from the mansion.

Exposing the long wide mansion seems to be not able to be measured by estimation, they can just wonder how wide it is inside.

The exterior design was just flawless, made from high-quality looking materials, as well as the vibe emitted by it appears to be authentic western archaic mansions.

At the front, there is a wide two-doors made of shining, but not like metals, just enough to reflect the light by its smooth surface. They stopped at the ground floor open area, in front of the door where there is a roof, enough to cover the tenfold carriage's size from the sun.

As they step outside, as the two men with their coachman opened the doors of the carriage, Isabella appeared to be amazed by the view. More into her excitement, she almost stumbled on her own feet. She was caught by Diana as she was just beside her.

"Careful," Diana said.

Isabella smiled at her, can't help to contain the happiness, "This is just too amusing. It's my first time seeing this grand building."

But after Amber heard it, she just created a smug face then looked at Ellena, "Told you so, it won't be regretting joining us."

However, Ellena just ignored her arrogance, she just entertained herself by observing the surroundings.

As Aaron became excited, he rested on Ellena's left shoulder. He reached her ear to talk.

"Ellena, this time, let's make sure that this will be safe for your future."

'Don't worry, I already learn how to be cautious.'

Seems to agree with Aaron, he asked Amber, "Amber, can you tell me what really is Grandpa? Why is Grandma eager to kill him?"

Amber hearing it, just tapped Ellena's shoulder. "Just wait, we'll get into it. This time, let's take a rest before discussing it."

After saying it, Amber tapped her foot to signal the people behind to open it. As soon as they heard it, they immediately opened it, greeting the eyes of the people outside with the marvelous interior design. More like a castle's interior, they were greeted by a grand staircase made of gold. At the ceiling was a chandelier of glass and light emitted by luminescent stones.

"Amazing."

"Welcome back, Miss Amber."

Servants from maids to butlers line up in front of them. Greeting Amber as well the guests, they opened their palms to assist them.

Seconds later, after Amber responded, a lady with minimal wrinkles on her face followed them with greetings. She wore a red sheath dress fitting her slim body, her eyes were crimson and her hair was pale orange.

"Grandma!" Amber excitedly exclaimed and hugged the lady who walks towards them.

To Ellena's surprise, she almost left her mouth open. The lady was their Grandma? She was perplexed for a moment, but when Aaron brought her to reality, she steps out a little.

The lady, Lushana Lumbert, their grandmother, approached Ellena. "Despite having distinguished hair color from the family, you still have the beauty, dear Ellena." She smiled as she hugged Ellena after Amber let go.

Ellena was left stiff, seems that Diana already knew her, but she was just frozen. Confused by various emotions, she hesitantly asked her. "You're not disgusted by me, aren't you?"

"Why would I?"

Ellena has still had this doubt in herself. Although she makes it look like that she's not affected by her being different, she still can't ignore that she is afraid of something.

She hugged Lushana back as she felt the confirmation. She felt the warm embrace that she was looking for when she was a kid.

"Thank you." She said.

After a few moments. They loosen up their embrace as they started to initiate a conversation.

"How was the trip?" Lushana asked.

"It was good and bad. We also have Diana here." Amber answered.

Lushana already noticed that Diana was with them, but she just can't ask them as her grandchildren are too amusing to see.

"Hello, Grandma." Diana wrapped her arms to her grandmother as a greeting. When she let go, she started talking about her story, why she came with them. After hearing it, Lushana finally understood it, but there's still someone in the four girls that she is curious about. The girl with silver hair was someone she wasn't expecting.

"And you are?" She asked.

Isabella bowed, "I am Isabella. I-I am... Big Sister Ellena's... s-sister."

"Sister?"

Amber stepped up then explained the situation. How she convinced Ellena, and what she promised. She understood it, replied with a smile, she just seems to really connect with Amber.

"Okay, I get it. But first, have a rest.. And also, Isabella, you're very welcome here."
