Chapter 49 - 49 Captured
49 Captured
Recently, Shang Sheng had been going to the bar street where he had first seen Shen Nian. He was hoping that the child would once again appear out of nowhere and fall into his hands. That would save him the trouble of looking for the child.
Grandpa Lian had been breathing down his neck recently and was eying him with suspicion. He still did not believe that Lian Jing would have a secret illegitimate child.
Shang Sheng made up his mind to bring that child to Grandpa Lian and prove to him that he was telling the truth! Lian Jing was not as disdainful of women as he pretended to be!
His child was already five or six years old. Lian Jing had played much harder than him!
However, for several days in a row, Shang Sheng did not find anything. He could not help but feel a little vexed. Why had he reacted so slowly and allowed the child to go free? The next time he saw him, he must not let him escape!
“Nian Nian, tell me what you want to eat today. Your mother is usually too busy with work and doesn’t have time to take care of you.”
“It’s okay. Mom’s already works hard. I can take care of myself.”
A childish voice suddenly sounded from behind. Shang Sheng was so nervous that he did not even dare to breathe. He suddenly turned around and saw a familiar profile.
The woman led the child further and further away until they turned into a mall behind him.
It was him!
Shang Sheng hurriedly followed and hid in a corner of the mall, thinking of a way to get the child away from the troublesome woman.
He quickly typed a message. As he was thinking, he saw the woman holding the child suddenly double over and lean against the wall in pain. She lowered her head and said a few words to the child before entering the bathroom alone, leaving the child waiting at the door by himself.
Shang Sheng silently rejoiced at his luck. He covered the distance in a few steps. He was about to cover the child’s mouth and simply kidnap him, but the child seemed to have eyes at the back of his head. When his hand was only a finger’s width away from the child’s head, the boy suddenly turned around and looked at him coldly.
At the age of five or six, he still had a childish air, but the coldness in his eyes was intimidating. Shang Sheng seemed to see a young Lian Jing in these eyes. They were definitely carved from the same mold.
There was no mistake!
“You followed us all the way. What do you want?” The childish air that Shen Nian put on in Li Zi’s presence vanished, and he looked at Shang Sheng sinisterly.
“Child, do you remember me?”
Shang Sheng briefly introduced himself. “I’m the person you accidentally bumped into last time, but I have another identity. I’m your uncle.”
“Uncle?” Shen Nian frowned and sized him up with a mocking expression. “So you know that scumbag?”
Shang Sheng choked. He had never heard anyone dare to say that about Lian Jing behind his back. This child was a force to be reckoned with! As expected of Lian Jing’s biological son!
He coughed lightly and coaxed, “Well? Do you want to come back with me to discover your roots? Your great-grandfather really wants to see you.”
“No.” Shen Nian refused without hesitation.
His precious mother had been back in the country for so long, but she had not said anything about letting him meet his biological father. It was obvious that his mother did not want him to have any interaction with the people on that side, so he would not impulsively leave with Shang Sheng.
Discover his roots? His mother was enough. That scumbag father could get lost!
When Shang Sheng heard this, he panicked. He scratched his head. He wanted to teach this boy a lesson, but he was afraid that Lian Jing would take revenge on him if he found out. He could only restrain his temper and coax him. “Come with me to meet him. You might get a big welcome gift!”
Shen Nian could not even be bothered to look at him. He frowned and looked away impatiently. “Go away. My godmother will come out in a while. When she sees you, she will think that you are a human trafficker who’s trying to kidnap me.”
Shang Sheng’s sharp ears caught the sound of the toilet flushing. He did not have time to bicker with the child. He reached out to grab him, but Shen Nian was as slippery as a fish and adroitly avoided his hand every time.
He inwardly applauded the boy. He quickly forced Shen Nian into a corner and the boy bumped into the bodyguards who had been lying in ambush.
This was a wide passageway. The washroom was located at the innermost part and there were not many people passing by. Even if Shen Nian shouted for help, no one would hear him.
Shen Nian glared warily at Shang Sheng, who had suddenly attacked. He inwardly cursed him and his scumbag father.
