Chapter 24 - What a crazy woman!

Chapter 24 - What a crazy woman!

Chapter 24: “What a crazy woman!”

Just when Bai Zhou thought that Ye Qiantong had realized the seriousness of the situation and was about to stop, Ye Qiantong, who had the dagger pressed against the side of her neck, suddenly lifted her head sharply.

She leaned in close.

“Mmm~~~”

Yes, that’s right!

Bai Zhou was stunned!!

He could clearly feel that Ye Qiantong had leaned toward him while pushing against the dagger. Fortunately, the dagger was pressed against the side of her neck. Otherwise, it would have cut her throat by now. However, the sharp blade still managed to slice through Ye Qiantong’s fair skin.

A small trickle of blood began to flow along the edge of the dagger. But Ye Qiantong acted as if she didn’t feel any pain at all, even wrapping her arms around Bai Zhou’s neck!

She stared at him with her wide-open eyes, her gaze locked onto his.

Gradually, a fire seemed to ignite in her pupils, growing brighter and brighter. Finally, she slowly closed her eyes.

Was she … starting to enjoy it?

Who knows how long passed. The shrill ringing of a phone suddenly pierced the silence. Both Bai Zhou and Ye Qiantong snapped out of their daze.

Bai Zhou quickly broke free from Ye Qiantong’s embrace.

Strings of saliva still connected them—tsk, tsk …

It was Bai Zhou’s phone. The caller ID showed the name “Li Yonggang” in large characters!

Bai Zhou shot a glare at Ye Qiantong as he answered the call.

On the other end, Li Yonggang’s voice came through: “Bai Zhou, my dad’s asking, how far have you and my stepmom gotten?”

How far? I almost got pushed off the edge by your stepmom, do you have any idea?!

Bai Zhou instinctively glanced at Ye Qiantong.

She was completely unconcerned with the blood on her neck, and even licked her lips while looking at Bai Zhou.

Bai Zhou took a deep breath and replied: “Young Master, Madam is at Xinyang now. We’re preparing to head home.”

“Mm, alright.”

Li Yonggang casually responded on the other end: “I knew my stepmom was probably getting her shoes at Xinyang again. My dad’s been nagging her nonstop. Alright, drive safely. My stepmom gets carsick.”

After that, Li Yonggang hung up the phone.

Carsick, my foot! You call that carsickness?! This is more like a professional driver at work!! She even took me off the rails with her! Even if I slammed the brakes, I wouldn’t have been able to stop!

After hanging up the phone, Bai Zhou stared at Ye Qiantong.

Neither of them said a word.

Blood was still slowly seeping from the wound on Ye Qiantong’s neck. Although there was a cut, it wasn’t life-threatening—just a small wound that could be patched up with a bandage. But this woman still paid no attention to the injury. It seemed as if the blood flowing from her neck excited her even more!

Her gaze told Bai Zhou that she didn’t think there was anything wrong with what had just happened, nor did she fear losing her life. In fact, Ye Qiantong seemed to revel in a sense of rebellious pleasure.

Bai Zhou looked at her, at a loss for words to describe the scene.

“Crazy woman!!”

He didn’t bother to hold back as he cursed at his sister-in-law.

He started the car, reversed out of the alley, and sped toward Li Tai’s villa. He didn’t care about speeding or running red lights. After all, if he got a ticket, Li Tai’s people would handle it. All he wanted now was to get rid of this crazy woman as quickly as possible. During the drive, Bai Zhou didn’t say another word to Ye Qiantong.

However, Ye Qiantong slowly leaned toward him in the passenger seat and, without a word, wrapped her arms around Bai Zhou’s right arm, hugging it tightly. This time, Bai Zhou didn’t resist. He just frowned and shot her a sharp look.

Ye Qiantong snuggled up to his shoulder like a delicate bird, then softly spoke: “Do you think I treat all of Li Tai’s subordinates this way?”

Oh, great!

This conversation felt awfully familiar.

“What else am I supposed to think?” Bai Zhou knew what her answer would be even before she said it.

And sure enough, Ye Qiantong responded: “What if I told you I only act like this with you, would you believe me?”

Would I believe her? Not a chance!!

Bai Zhou didn’t reply.

It seemed like Ye Qiantong also knew that even if he answered, it would still be a “no.”

She silently hugged Bai Zhou’s arm, watching the bustling traffic ahead.

Bai Zhou didn’t notice, but a deep sorrow began to appear in Ye Qiantong’s eyes.

Before long, Ye Qiantong released Bai Zhou’s shoulder, adjusted her clothes, and said: “Stop at the next intersection.”

“What are you trying to pull this time?!”

Bai Zhou thought she was about to stir up more trouble and responded irritably.

But this time, Ye Qiantong sighed and said: “One more intersection and we’ll be in Li Tai’s surveillance zone. He never lets me sit in the front seat. No matter who’s driving, it’s not allowed!”

Great! Looks like Li Tai doesn’t fully trust her either!! Damn … If Li Tai found out about all this, would I still have a chance to throw my weight around? Without even waiting to reach the intersection, Bai Zhou immediately pulled over.

This time, he said flatly: “Open the door and get out yourself. Don’t expect me to wait on you!”

Hearing this, Ye Qiantong suddenly smiled. She leaned in again, grabbed Bai Zhou’s collar, and planted a kiss on his lips with a loud smack!

Then she laughed and said: “I just love it when you’re rough with me!”

With that, she turned around, opened the door herself, and moved to the back seat, even tidying up her clothes.

“What a crazy woman!”

Bai Zhou cursed under his breath, then floored the gas pedal and sped off.
