Chapter 147 The Leaders Of NPA
Chapter 147 The Leaders Of NPA
?
A few days later, inside the office of Lieutenant General Rivera.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
"Come in." The commanding general said as he organized the documents on his desk.
A soldier came in with an urgent look on his face. "Sir, we received a report from the Mindanao Region that the NPA's main base was attacked by an unknown group. According to the report, the leaders of the NPA were captured and more than half of their soldiers were killed. Their secret base was also destroyed after the battle."
Lieutenant General Rivera scrunched his eyebrows. "Who attacked them? Is there an internal conflict between their members?"
The soldier shook his head. "The people at the Mindanao Region are still investigating this incident so we don't have information about the attackers yet. However, they told us that there isn't an internal conflict in the NPA so this was most likely done by another force."
Lieutenant General Rivera's frown deepened. The NPA caused them a lot of trouble in the past few decades which resulted in the death of many soldiers and civilians. He was happy that they were finally punished for their crimes, but he was worried about the force responsible for the incident.
"Clear my schedule for today! I will go to Mindanao and launch an investigation myself." Lieutenant General Rivera said in a serious tone. He had to get to the bottom of this.

"You guys did a great job!" Arlan was satisfied with the Oorlewende Unit's performance.
"Thank you for your praise, Mr. Roa!" The leader of the unit, Codename 01, bowed his head respectfully. The soldiers of the Oorlewende Unit were given codenames based on their combat skills and Codename 01 was the strongest among them. Although his physical strength wasn't as impressive as Conrad, his combat skills were miles ahead.
Arlan stood up and said. "Bring me to their leader. I want to see what kind of person could lead those rebels."
"Yes, Mr. Roa!" Codename 01 nodded his head.
The Oorlewende Unit brought Arlan to a rest house in the mountains of Cordillera. The Legion Military Company acquired this place for the sole purpose of interrogating the leaders of the NPA.
There were soldiers of the military company guarding the area so no intruders could enter. After checking their identification, they were allowed to pass through.
Arlan stepped out of the vehicle and followed Codename 01 inside the rest house. The leaders of the NPA were on the second floor and their limbs were tied to prevent them from escaping.
There were three people inside the room, two were middle-aged men in their forties, while the remaining person was surprisingly a woman in his early twenties. They stared aggressively at Arlan and Codename 01 when they entered the room.
"You can leave. I'll just ask them a few questions." Arlan said.
Codename 01 thought that it was dangerous to let him stay with the three leaders, but he suddenly recalled Tafari's words. After careful consideration, he nodded his head. "Alright, but please be careful around them."
Arlan chuckled as he nodded his head. The guy didn't know that he could fight, but there was no need to explain this to him.
After Codename 01 left the room, Arlan grabbed a chair and took a seat in front of the captives. "Hello, everyone. Let me introduce myself first." He said as he took out a black cigarette from his pocket. He lit up and took a puff before he continued. "My name is Arlan Dominic Roa."
"W-We don't have any conflicts, why did you attack our base?!" A middle-aged man with a thick beard roared furiously.
"Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! You're right. We don't have any conflicts. I just find you guys an eyesore so I decided to send my people to attack you." Arlan grinned as he lightly flick his cigarette to let some ashes fall.
"You! I'll kill you!" The bearded middle-aged man shouted with bloodshot eyes. He was shaking in fury as he stared at Arlan. If he wasn't tied, he would have already pounced towards Arlan to bite off his neck.
"Sir, why are you doing this to us?! We didn't attack the innocent people. The sole purpose of the creation of our group was to stop the corruption in the country. We don't deserve this kind of humiliation!" The woman emotionally said.
"You guys want to stop the corruption in the country?" Arlan chuckled in amusement. "Then why did you send your men to capture Senator Manuel Chavez's son? Among the government officials in the country, he is the most responsible. He was also the one who contributed the most in helping the marginalized people. Can you explain that to me?" Arlan asked as he crossed his legs.
The eyes of the three leaders flashed with surprise when they heard this. The woman eyed the other two and furiously said. "Didn't we discuss this before?! I told you guys that we shouldn't attack Senator Manuel! Why didn't you listen?!"
The two middle-aged men lowered their heads. "We only did it because that person promised to fund our movement if we kidnapped the senator's son."
"So it's all about money again! You two have been secretly taking the group's money, but you actually want more?! I'm deeply ashamed of your actions!"
Arlan leisurely stared at them while smoking his cigarette. "Are you guys done?"
All three leaders shut their mouths and stared at him in unison.
Arlan stared at the woman and said. "You have two options. First, you will confess your crimes to the police and accept their punishment or you can die here today. Which one will you choose?"
"I'm willing to confess my crimes! Please bring me to the police!" The bearded middle-aged man immediately said. He had some connections with the government so he should be able to get out of prison after a few years in jail.
"I will also confess my crimes! If you bring me to the police, I will tell them the location of our secret bases." The other middle-aged man shouted. He was willing to betray his group for the sake of his survival.
"You guys... I can't believe this..." The woman hatefully stared at the two of them.
